(Anyone else may still join at anytime if you feel like it!)

What I would like for us to do is to go ahead and do the initial test if you haven't done so already.

You can post whatever statistics you like, but I'm going to update mine every Saturday until I reach my 100th push-up goal. This is a 7 week challenge that will last until 10/25/08. Copy the following if you like:

Push-ups:
Initial test:
End of Week 1 (9/13/08):
End of Week 2 (9/20/08):
End of Week 3 (9/27/08):
End of Week 4 (10/4/08):
End of Week 5 (10/11/08):
End of Week 6 (10/18/08):
Final Test Week 7 (10/25/08):

Stats:
Starting weight (9/6/08):
Week 1 (9/13/08):
Week 2 (9/20/08):
Week 3 (9/27/08):
Week 4 (10/4/08):
Week 5 (10/11/08):
Week 6 (10/18/08):
Ending weight (10/25/08):

Arm circumference:
Starting: R:______ L:______
Ending: R:______ L:______

Add any other stats you would like to track as well over the next 7 weeks. Feel free to leave any stats out too - I don't want this to make you feel uncomfortable (except for maybe while doing the push-ups!) :D

The push-ups should take place 3 days of the week. For myself, I'm doing my push-ups on M - W - Sat. (because by Friday I might not want to do them!)

The in-between days we will have mini-challenges to complete (if you choose to do so.)

Since we have such a small group, we will just keep one thread going during this challenge. So post your encouragements, concerns, etc. here as well as your stats.

Tomorrow is the official beginning, so for me I'm going to do the initial test (I haven't even attempted it at this point.) If you haven't done your initial test, do so by this weekend so that you can get started on the challenge by Monday (if Mon. does not work for you, you make your own 3 day schedule - but stick to it!!)

Let's do this! :cheers2:

Hi Gingerbabe and Bell! Thanks for joining, we're sure to have fun!

Look at you Bell! I have to update mine, but haven't had time yet to put in my initial push-ups.

OK...

So a question for all here, what do you do on a regular basis for exercise?

Dh and I have been walking a lot lately - 3 to 4 miles each evening. I can tell I'm getting stronger because today I made us both sprint like 5 times during the walk! Of course I had two motives, one to beat dh to his parent's house and the other was that there were a lot of clouds looming. :biggrinjester:

Before all of this walking I've done various exercises as well - from videos to the elliptical. But, I'm enjoying the walking because dh and I have about an hour to talk with no kids bothering us except the dog! LOL

Hi Everybody!

For excercise I do everything from walking to working out at the gym and my workouts vary daily...some times its more weights, some times more cardio...I'm gone from 216 to 208 so I'm pretty happy. Today was the 1st day I did hip hop abs and worked up a really good sweat.

Lets see.......hmmmm
I am currently taking a class for strengthing your core muscles. I do that twice a week. I was taking another class that was all about weight lifting but it got to be to much time away from the family.
We have an elliptical. So that gets the dust knocked off of it fairly regularly.
I do some walking but could do more.
And would love to ride my bike on a more regular basis.
That about covers it.
Oh and if one of the members from the Y ( I work there) wants someone to partner up with I get a mini workout in on Tues and Thurs.

Hi everyone! I love everyone's routines. Sound great to me! At this point, I don't really have a set routine. This push-up challenge is about as scheduled as it gets as far as exercise goes! However, I have some DVDs that I do that I pick from depending on what mood strikes that day. The DVDs include: Biggest Loser-Cardio Max; Biggest Loser-Power Sculpt; Belly Dance-Basics and Beyond with Jenna; Jillian's (from Biggest Loser) 30 Day Shred; and every now and then I like to throw in my long time trusty friend- Cindy Crawford-Shape Your Body, for old time's sake! hehe. Aside from DVDS, I walk on my treadmill(haven't done it for awhile though), use my plate weight machine, and ride 10-15 miles on my MIL's exercise bike 2-3 times a week. I like to do 100 crunches before I go to bed.

I'm looking forward to doing this challenge! :)

Sounds like you have a full and fun schedule.

Congrats on the weightloss thus far!

Too bad we can't bike together! Do you mean you partner up with the members in the weight class? Or is this something different?

I have a collection of dvd's as well, and want to add the Jillian's 30 day shred, I've heard a lot about it. You really get a lot of exercise in!

For me at this time the most exercise I've been doing is walking evenings with my dh. We've been going about 4 miles round-trip almost every evening.

We didn't make it last night because he was gone, and tonight he has to work from 10 pm on and so is going to be resting during our regular walk time (which is supposed to be right now - except I have to run my ds to a meeting he has.)

So other than the push-ups and the walking that will be it for now. I would like to ride my bike before winter sets in, but dh prefers to walk right now, so that's what we've been doing. I also have an elliptical that I use on a regular basis (except that I haven't been using it since these walks started), a treadmill, and dvds. I have a small weight bench too - but I hardly ever use that anymore.

A little challenge...

Since it is Wed., I'm assuming that most have done at least their first set of real push-ups by now (Day 1.) So unless you are already doing 1 hr of regular exercise (aside from the push-ups.) I want you to add 10 min. to your daily exercise routine (whatever that is - and if you are doing nothing but this challenge, then 10 min. won't be asking too much!)

Cardio would be the easiest (at least for me) - 10 min. can add up quite quickly!

Have fun!

Just with the members. I guess I have been up in the center long enough now that they trust me. LOL
'Cuz they are starting to ask me for advice on this and that.
So I show them some of Kelly's moves. And then usually when they come in they want me to do them with them. I guess they don't want to do them by themselves. Which is fine with me. Since I am not suppose to work out on the clock.
That and most of the people that ask for help only ever do the cardio stuff so have no idea how to do weights. Free or otherwise.
And maybe we could get a ride in. All I would have to do is bring my bike over to your place.
Think about it and let me know.
Ciao

I'll think about it.... um ok ... just let me know when! LOL

Ok even though I've only done one day of the 100 push-up challenge (I'm a little behind), I can feel it in my shoulders and under my arms. Plus my abs - due to trying to hold the flab in so it wouldn't touch the ground first. ;)

Your such a goose!
I'll let ya know.
