Cohen's Lifestyle Nicole's London weight-loss Journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hi Nic, I just looked up my old program & it says Optional: Evening Primrose Oil (1 capsule per day), Omega 3 or Flaxseed Oil Capsules(1 capsule per day). I used to take the Omega 3 & not the Flaxseed. You may be able to take extra or both if you ask. xo Cate

Hello Nicky

just popping into say hi and see how you are.

Sam:)

Hi Sam

Thanks for popping in :) I am doing just fine, just a little disappointed that I have hit a plateau this week :( waaaaa.

Hope your doing well with your weight-loss

Oh Nicky I feel for you I was hitting platueas all the time with all my other previous diets plans and that was within the 2nd week.

Don't be disillusioned it will come off just keep at it and maybe do some more activity.

I know we are not suppose to do any exertive exercise with Cohens but I think maybe just moving around or doing a walk would be okay and that may be all you need to get over that platuea.

Good luck and don't get disheartened.

Sam:)

Hi Amy

So nice of you to drop by :) So are you on an eating plan in the UK then?
I would love to read about your journey too as I know how wonderful all the food is in the UK and cheap :ack2:

Cohen's sure does work a treat if you follow it 100% it is basically higher protien, lower carb eating plan that balances your hormones and insulin to cause you to loose weight and get your Human Growth Hormone working!

Hope your doing well
xx nicole:waving:

Hi London Darling. You have to admire the way our bodies just want to hang on to the last little lot of excess weight (NOT!) You have done so well Nic. Almost there! xoxo Cate

Hi Nicky, hope your plateau is a short one. I kind of had one, but in the big scheme of things it still worked out to a good weekly average. And as I'm sure you've heard before, that's usually when its more noticable in measurements than scale numbers. It's unreal how much you've lost. It's great sometimes to just sit and reflect on such awesome numbers. It can be easy to take it for granted, especially when there's been more than a few kgs to lose. What a journey. :coolgleamA:

A much smaller loss for me this week, but at least it's something! 700g down!!

I am getting closer and closer to my goal and even with these small losses it still makes a difference, ahh what I would do to jack them up to the sweet sweet 1.3kg's I used to loose. My husband said something intersting to me tonight which I thought I would share with you all too.... As you get smaller you (obviously) have less to loose, now if you think of that in relation to a percentage of your weight rather than a number it's pretty good. Before when I weighted 129 kg's I could loose 1.3- 1.4kg's in a week (1% body weight), now that I am 76kg's I am still loosing at about the same rate (of 1% of my body weight) I just weigh less now so I have a smaller percentage to loose. AND my body is finding it harder to source the fat as I am becoming skin and bones so it has to work harder to loose it. Ahhh that makes me feel SO MUCH better :) It did put a smile on my face as I was getting frustrated with the smaller losses each week.

I am going to stay positive about this and try and change my perspective- it just means I may not meet my target to be finished for Christmas. Never mind I can always post-pone it, and it is much easier to eat a Cohen's meal when you dont have any family or friends to celebrate with. At times like these you really value having a loving family to celebrate with and I know that we wont ever take them for granted again (my husband and I).

Hope your all doing extremly well with your losses!! Miss you 28+1, hope you come visit soon
xxx London Darling

Hi Nicky, you have a very wise husband. That is a great way to look at it. The smaller you get too, the more obvious any loss becomes, even the really small ones, though sometimes, it's more obvious to others. When you look at a really big person, if they lose a couple of kgs you wouldn't notice. But 700gms on a small person you often will.

Hubby and L-Jay make good sense Nicky.
Gee you've done fantastic with Cohens...what an accomplishement, so inspiring!

Can you believe your that same person??.....Amazing!!!

You really don't have far to go now till goal Nicky....Do you know I lost a further 3kg on refeed that took me to my GW. Sometimes adding the extra foods can also encourage weightloss which is what happens when on refeed. I think when our weight loss slows down as well it is the bodies way of holding on to those last fat reserves and when we start mixing the foods and weights up on refeed it tricks the body thus assisting it to lose further weight.

all the best now - Sam:)

Hey Sam

Thanks for your post! WOW you lost 3kg's on re-feed!!! That is AMAZING!
I am not expecting to loose anything on re-feed as I have read so many of the re-feed diaries on the New you foum and most people seem to loose nothing or just 1kg. As my losses have slowed down a fair bit I am going to try and get to my lowest goal and then start re-feeding, I dont mind being lower than my lowest goal to give myself a bit of a buffer zone but I really would like to be under 70kg's. Like I was saying in Shine's diary I haven't weighted in the 60's region since I was in year 5 at school!! and I would have only been 9 or 10 years old then so to be close to 25 and be the same weight would be just hilarious :)

I cannot believe how far I have come along and how well Cohen's works if you follow it 100%. Nothing else on earth can do what cohen's has done for me weight-loss wise and I really am starting to feel like a new person. I have really seen my confidence levels sky rocket and I notice that I am not so self-concious anymore. I am starting to love my new body more and more each day and am trying to accept myself more. I know this is hard as your used to seeing yourself a certain way and to change your mind and not think that your over-weight or fat is really, really hard. I think the key is to keep looking at your body and how much you weigh to get it into your head- that's what I have to do. I still dont quite believe it's me when I look in the mirror as I am nearly half the size lol. I look in proportion now instead of having larger hips area and I love wearning pencil skirts instead of A-lines, I find that these are more flatering on my figure now!

WOW I just realised that I am only 4kg's away from my top end goal weight set by Dr C!! My goal is 69-72kg's so after I loose another 2 kg's then I will get to order my re-feed. Actually I have spoken to my consultant and I have my very final blood test this Monday!! Woooo hooooo that will be my last blood test for good (with Cohen's). She is then going to order my re-feed and maintainence for me and send it to me here in London. CANT WAIT to get my re-feed and see how many day's I will have to do and what foods and how much I will get!! SO EXCITED! I just cant believe the time in nearly here, I kind of felt like I would be on Cohen's phase 1 forever.

I know that I am going to have to be strong and keep my mind set on maintaining once I finish and I already have a big resolve to do so. I will still come here to the forum and post and see how you all are doing as it seems like a little family here online.

Take care everyone and keep up the fantastic work with the weight-loss I can tell you it is SO worth it in the end and your going to be so proud of yourself to reach your goals. The only thing that is stopping you is your mind so tell it who's boss ;)

Hi Nicky

I just realise there are quiet a few Nickies on here!
Hope I don't get you all mixed up!

Popping into say hello NC and see how you are.

Sam:)

Hi London darling. Well done on the .8kg drop this week. I admire your determination especially as you are being so strong & not deviating, even though your losses have slowed down. Good for you Nic! Almost there sweets, xo Cate

Fantastic work Nicky Chick. You have been so committed despite the health issues - what a fantastic reward - getting to THE END of phase one! As they say, "Tip toe into maintenance"! You and Cate both rock - you've done so well!

Well done Nicky you are so close. Keep up the great work and keep inspiring us all!

I have been struggling with some major emotional stuff, but I am back and determined.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks everyone for popping in. have been really busy with work and interviwes of late.

I have managed to score a fantastic job at a big London Law firm as their Lead in-house Corporate Designer!!! YAY At the moment I am working CRAZY full-time freelance hours till that starts (in a little over a week). Been so tired and life has been too full-on. Have been off plan a couple of times due to some events that my husband has said I have to go to and eat otherwise he feels weird. I really didn't want to but he said that it means alot to him. Grrrr this has caused me to go a bit of track but as of tomorrow (after the big event tonight) I am back again 100%.

I dont think I need to eat to impress his boss I think that is a little silly but his boss has invited us over fpr dinner at his house aand my hubby said that we "HAVE" to go and that I "HAVE TO EAT" I was upset about this but as he said he rezlly wwanted me to go off plan and it ment so much to him, I had little choice.

I am so excited to go back on plan tomorrow as I have felt horrible, boated, tired and am retaining a HELL of alot of water. I think being on-plan is the best thing for my body as otherwise I am a water balloon. Not sure what I have reacted to but it's not good at all.

Will have to catch-up on yhr diaries soon as I haven't had a chance for a good few weeks.

xxx love and best wishes to you all on plan. Keep up the great work and I can tell you Food is not worth it AT ALL!!!!

Congratulations London darling!

Re: Your husband & his boss etc. He may not realise the importance of re-feed & getting to goal. I know my LH battled with accepting that I needed to finish it properly as he thought I had lost enough when I still had 10kg to go. If you tell him about how so many people who do not finish properly end up regaining all of their weight, plus some, he may not put so much pressure on you.
Once again Nicole, a big congratulations on what sounds like a huge job. That's fantastic news!! xo Cate
