New Year, New Goal, Same Old FireFreak

Did a 30 min workout on the bike yesterday. Steady state at a 130 HR. 9.7 miles covered.

did some lifts as well as core work

-Bench
-Chin-ups
-curls
-shrugs
-dips
-Planks
-Crunches

and a good stretch just to help loosen things up. Hip flexors are tighttttttt.

FANTASTIC distance run FF! Great job!

Thanks Sparrow.

did hills today. 6 total hills. Did a warm up on the run down to the hill and one hill up at a slow pace to get my blood moving.

4 more hills then at the top of the hill kept going back down a different direction to a steeper hill that put my back behind my apartment.

A few aches and pains today. Nothing to be concerned with as of yet, just my body's rebellion against that 10 miler. Outside of left heel feels slightly bruised. Nothing that's causing any guarding or a limp but it's there none the less. Also the inner portion of my right quadricep has a tight spot. Been trying to stretch it out but can't find a good position through typical stretches. Was able to stretch it a bit by doing a partial sit onto a ledge about 3.5 feet high and twisting my torso to the right.

Iced both areas today, 2 sessions of 10 minutes on 10 off. Quad is still a bit tight and foot still has lingering pain. We'll see in the AM.

Still some slight discomfort in my left heel this morning. Nothing major and not worse than last night. Iced while I was getting ready for work and making breakfast.

Have 3 miles tonight. Will see if there is any discomfort while on the treadmill. If there is I will regroup and alter my workout plans for the remainder of the week, stick to the bike for my heavy cardio maybe.

Discomfort was still there in the heel. Managed the 3 but am more worried now. icing at this point and trying to massage the area to loosen things up. I hope its not what I think it is....i guess we'll see how it feels in the AM.

So now both heels extending into the arch a feeling sore. I guess we know what that means...SOB. I'm going to continue icing thoroughly after my work outs and doing a large number of stretches. also will be doing some massage techniques to help loosen up the tissue before my runs. I have 4 miles today, off tomorrow, 3 saturday and 12 Sunday. I am contemplating taking off the Saturday run to get in 2 full rest and recovery days to see if this subsides a bit.

did a light run to warm up a bit today and lotsa stretching and biked the equivalent amt of time near the appx heartrate i would have been operating at while running for 4 miles.

13.2 mi bike in 40 min. stretched more after. the pain seems to be on only the outside of my left foot now and only if i roll onto that area of my foot. otherwise its not bothering me...will ice more once i am done eating.

ahhhh foot feels 110% better this morning. some residual soreness but otherwise nothing bad. based on where i was feeling the soreness i am led to believe that I might be a supinator...it may have just been the downhills on tuesday though as i've never had an issue like this ever before. will just have to take the downhills slower next time.

There will be no run today (planned) but i will bike and do some lifting after work. Based on how the foot feels tomorrow I will either run my 3 miles or bike the equivalent again. 12 miler is scheduled for Sunday.

AH good, well I hope it continues to feel 110%. I'm a supinator also and sometimes get this same thing when I add speedwork too quickly. The increased pounding does a number. glad its feeling better, good luck on that 12 miler!

actually does not feel better at the moment...hurts a lot...did no running or biking...just worked...and went to class.

the very cold weather is probably not helping.

so my annual dinner was last night and i basically spent about 4 hours standing/dancing and the foot was less than pleased today...iced a few times, and took some advil.

if this isn't gone by the end of the week i'll be going to see a podiatrist. i will try to complete my tuesday run and gauge how it feels the following day with how it feels tomorrow.

Foot's feeling ok today (surprisingly). I spent a good amount of time on my feet, which is whats been brining on the pain/soreness as the day goes on, but so far today nothing beyond a twinge i felt earlier. I'll be biking and doing some upper body lifts tonight and will be icing and stretching my foot afterwards.

Supposed to do hills tomorrow, but I think I will forgo that and just run a straight distance on the treadmill instead.

Biked 40 minutes HITT, did some core work and a few pull ups. iced the foot down after dinner. feeling good thus far, no pain (knock on wood). i will run tomorrow at a moderate pace and if i feel and dicomfort i will stop and bike the rest.

Ran 3 miles today. No pain. Hope its all behind me. Iced regardless. Good stretch after. 4 miles tomorrow, 6 Thursday and 10 over the weekend (total), we shall see.

4 miles today in 37:15. some soreness afterwards but 2 EMS calls prevented me from icing all night. whoops. bring on the advil.

6 miles today. 57:15 Felt great.....

until i felt a pop in my foot...when walking...during my warm down...not during my run...fark me....after almost 3 days w/o a hint of pain suddenly a pop...ironically there was a pop like feeling when the pain stopped as well.

back to RICE, luckily have no running tomorrow.

I guess its time to go see an orthopedist..

Thats so annoying. I have injuries like that too. they come and go and come and go for no apparent reason one way or another. I'm in the middle of the bad knees again after being pain free for 2 months :( Hope you find something out soon

yeah...very annoying. ran 5 yesterday. no issues. running another 5 later today. luckily this is a light week. next week will be the big test for the foot.

Did todays 5 w/o incident. Legs in general are feeling sore from the first full week of running. Sore...but a good sore. :)
