Weight-Loss New WLF Team Challenge

Weight-Loss
Count me in! It's a great idea to have this contest for motivation, support and encouragement. Plus, a little competition never hurt anyone, hehe.

I'll join, nothing like an extra kick up the butt to get me going :D

Hello and welcome to all new members. Glad to see you here as part of our little challenge. We now officially have enough members for three teams, so we're pretty much ready to go! Of course I'm still hoping for new members to join, but we've got a good base here already.

I know it is difficult to set a goal for a three month challenge, but as Omega said, most people will not higher than about 1% per week, so if you take that as a rough estimate, it might help you to get the general idea.

Please make sure to upload your scoresheet to the right thread here: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/57896-WLF-Team-challenge-score-sheets-ONLY, if you haven't already done so, and maybe think up ideas for team names. I know we haven't made up the teams yet, but it doesn't hurt to plan ahead. ;))

The challenge officially starts on Saturday, 23rd of March.

I guess that San is still waiting to see if more people join so that she knows how many people to split into teams.

San and I rarely get round to visiting diaries these days - so challenges like this tend to be the best way that we can cheer people (including each other) on... We tend to get a fair bit of mutual support going in this style of challenge... I always seem to do a bit better with my weight loss when I am on a team challenge - and I know a number of people who have felt similarly... I guess we just want as many people as possible to join in.

Right, Ladies and Gentlemen, we have teams!!

With the help of little pieces of paper, and under supervision of my cats and my husband, I randomly picked the members of each team.

And here we go:

Team 1

~Tasha~
Don Keykong
Justina
Oregongal
jsaund86

Team 2

christine1970
Camila
Omega
BelindaR
Bundybrad19

Team 3

luzdafuzz
MandyH
San
Transparent
Zynische

I will start three new threads, one for each team. Please feel free to get together and come up with a good name for your team. Please make sure to put your starting stats into your scoresheets by Sunday at the latest. :)

Really looking forward to this, hope you're all motivated and ready to lose - weight, that is, not the challenge!! *lol*

Quick question: In the rules, you said "At the beginning of the challenge, you set yourself a goal loss. If you manage to come within 1.5% of that target by the end of the challenge, you will receive 15 extra points."

Does a person losing at least 98.5% of their weight loss goal get the 15 pts? In other words, exceeding your goal is OK? Or do I have to stay within 98.5-101.5% of my targeted goal to get the 15? That makes setting a goal pretty tough. Thanks.

I took it as going past your goal is ok. By going over you reached your goal so anything beyond that is just a bonus to you. That's how I read it anyway. :)

Thanks, Mandy. If so that makes it easier to calculate. BTW, I was secretly hoping to get you on my team, too! You're a beast when it comes to exercise, eating right and water!

Awww... thanks Don! I'm finding exercise, especially tae bo is a great stress reliever! I'm really starting to enjoy it. :)

Maybe we'll be teammates on the next challenge! :)

I see the teams have already been drawn up. Does that mean it's too late for me to get in on this?

Also, I will be going to the beach twice in this time frame. Both are one week trips. I should have access to internet and will probably be able to do the 1 hr of exercise and water drinking (if swimming in the ocean counts as exercise). Should I still join, even knowing this is the case and I am less likely to lose weight during those two weeks?

Whoooohoooo!! Let's rock 'n roll people!!
