Lasy night was the first food shop since the zero crap diet plan. All the cheap stuff and offers were on cakes and sweets. Eating clean is expensive
Yes, it can be, that's for sure. I can't speak for anywhere else, but here...
*Whole grain pasta is about twice as much
*Olive oil is way higher than the others
*natty pb is close to twice as much
*any lowfat/low sodium alternatives are almost always higher
*and forget about organic/natural produce/meat/milk - it's about 3 times as much most of the time
I think people who shop in the specialty stores forget how much cheaper the regular versions of things are. If you don't have a Whole Foods or whatever, then you have to actually look at the two things side by side and see just how much more it costs.
Usually the people who sit up on their "high horse" about how it's not that expensive, or that it's worth
doubling your grocery bill over, are not the ones buying for a family of 4, and don't have to spend $40 on diapers and baby stuff before even getting to the actual groceries.
I pretty much will do the best I can within the confines of a normal grocery store, and my grocery budget, but it can be tough.
