My Diary

Workout 6/27

Fitness Asssesment - see above post + spinning class. Not a bad workout day - did find out my resting heart rate is lower than it was, which is a good thing. Can't wait to get the results.

Water, Water Everywhere...

I don't know how other areas affected by the torrential downpours in the US have been, but we here in northeastern Pennsylvania are under a variety of flood watches and warnings - significant enough for companies to talk about closing shop til the imminent danger passes. Moving things up into higher floors has been the order of the day here, though unfortunately, the wellness center I belong to is on the first floor too. Right now it's just a wait and see and keep fingers crossed situation here - hoping the waters don't go over the levees.

Water, Water Everywhere, Pt II

Well it looks like the worst is over (crosses fingers) - the river crested at 34' last night (the levee protects up to 41'), so we were spared the worst. I feel for those who got flooded out and hope that repairs come swiftly.

Rest days yesterday and today - will go back to the wellness center tomorrow (I hope).

Hope there is a wellness center to come back too.

Me too - but if not, I'll go back to the gym I used to belong to until it's up and running again. Just hate having rest days when I should be working out...

Apparently we have tomorrow off as well due to the flooding situation. Am seriously considering rejoining the gym I'd left so as to be able to workout through the weekend (the corporate wellness center goes mon-fri 6:00am to 8:30am then from 11:00am to 7:00pm - the gym goes mon-fri (5:30am to 10pm) and sat (7:00am to 8pm) and sun (7:00am to 5pm) and is generally open even on holidays. Only problem is it's $45 a month, and it's a contract for a year. so I guess the question is if it's worth the $600 a year to be ensured of a place to workout. Any suggestions, ideas welcome.

I'm not sure what to do on that one. I understand that you need a place to workout, but do you really want to fork over $600 and a yr contract when/if you can go back to the wellness center soon? I think you should stay at the wellness center and do some workout at home.

I know - still considering it though... would be able to work out any time then, but is that worth $600 a year...
