Motivational sayings and/or affirmations.

A winner makes commitments to a goal,
a loser makes promises.

Being defeated is often temporary,
giving up makes it permanent.

"It's the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief.
And once that belief becomes a deep conviction,
things begin to happen."

the same as he did at 20
has wasted 30 years of his life."

I have the strength to remain calm in the face of change.

Change requires the belief that change is possible for you. You are far more powerful than you believe yourself to be. You would not have made it this far if you were not capable of change.

I like this one, attributed to many people, often golfers. But apparently it was Samuel Goldwyn.

"the harder I work, the luckier I get"

Agreed! You have to work at whatever it is you want! I'll leave that as today's. Thanks Iain. :D

Accept Yourself:

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
~ Eleanor Roosevelt

If you do not like yourself or cannot accept yourself, how do you expect others to? Often times, we give away our power by letting others dictate how we should feel. Be determined to keep your power. You decide.

When I make a mistake,
I realise that it is only
part of the learning process.

As I forgive myself,
it becomes easier to forgive others.

I've trained my conscience. When I don't follow it, I usually regret it for quite a while. That's a good quote.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your life. Learn to love the questions themselves, until some distant day, without your knowing, you will have lived into the answers.”

That's a crack-up Emerald! Love it. I'll share it!

The Power of Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation, and which are repeated many times, in order to impress the subconscious mind and trigger it into positive action. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the affirmations, they have to be repeated with attention, conviction, interest and desire.
The repeated words help you focus your mind on your aim, and automatically build corresponding mental images in the conscious mind, which affect the subconscious mind. The conscious mind, the mind you think with, starts this process, and then the subconscious mind takes charge. By using this process consciously and intently, you can affect your subconscious mind and thereby transform your habits, behaviour, mental attitude and reactions, and even reshape your external life.

"Character - the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life - is the source from which self respect springs."
~Joan Didion

"I have no regrets in my life. I think that everything happens to you for a reason. The hard times that you go through build character, making you a much stronger person."
~ Rita Mero
