May You Have
(Unknown)

May you have......

Enough happiness to keep you sweet,
Enough trials to keep you strong,
Enough sorrow to keep you human,
Enough hope to keep you happy;
Enough failure to keep you humble,
Enough success to keep you eager,
Enough friends to give you comfort,
Enough wealth to meet your needs;
Enough enthusiasm to look forward,
Enough faith to banish depression,
Enough determination to make each day better than yesterday.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
~Groucho Marx
(1st quote was chosen online-)

"Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same."
~Francesca Reigler.
(2nd quote chosen randomly from my own cards. Looks like I choose happiness today :D xoC)

"Success means having the courage, the determination and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be."

Make a list of all the reasons you want to be slim.
Every time you are tempted to eat something you shouldn't, pull out the list and read it.

You can control your eating if you plan in advance what you are going to eat.
Learn to say "no, thank you" with a smile.
Practise what you will say when someone offers you something off plan eg. "No thank you. I'm following a healthy eating plan , from my doctor."

Learn new coping strategies, instead of "comfort" eating. Food is not comfort. It cannot substitute for anything else.

Clear out your pantry of the things that tempt you off plan.

Write yourself notes around the house. Put up pictures of you at your slimmest or of clothing that you would like to be able to wear.

Make up your own affirmations & use them.

This is all about changing your old bad habits, replacing them with new, good ones. Change does not come overnight. You must work at it & work toward it.

Start picturing yourself at your ideal weight.

YOU CAN DO THIS!

"People create their own questions because they are afraid to look straight.
All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it,
don't sit looking at it - walk."
~Ayn Rand

"You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you don't trust enough."
~Frank Crane

"Real confidence comes from knowing and accepting yourself- your strengths and your limitations- in contrast to depending on affirmation from others."
~ Judith M. Bardwick

Flip side-
"Self-confidence is so relaxing. There is no strain or stress when one is self-confident. Our lack of self-confidence comes from trying to be someone we aren't."
~ Anne Wilson Schoef.

If food isn't part of the problem,
it's not going to be part of the solution.

Food does not equal comfort.
Food is nourishment.
Food is your medicine.

"Learning is the beginning of wealth.
Learning is the beginning of health.
Learning is the beginning of spirituality.
Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins."

"Start by doing what's necessary
then do what is possible;
and suddenly you are doing the impossible."
~St Francis of Assisi.

"Fear makes strangers of people who should be friends."

Wow Cate! Go you! It was a big one too. Facing your fears can give you such an amazing accomplishment. It feels so good not to allow something to have so much control over you anymore.

I really am trying to get over my fear of speaking in front of others. (I'm a Biology Student) My speech class requires three speeches and I'm currently on my last one. It's due next month and I'm really nervous but the quote you gave the other day is going to help calm my nerves.

Did you know that public speaking is the greatest fear of most people? It's even higher than death, divorce and job loss! That's surprising. I read it somewhere and I believe it.

I will face my fears for the third time next month. ^_^

Emerald, That's one fear I have never got over.GO YOU!! Lol. If the opportunity comes again I promise that I will, xo Cate.

"Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things.
The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions:
could have, might have, and should have."

“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.”
~Eleanor Roosevelt

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
~Larry Elder

You've got to say-
I think if I keep working at this
and want it badly enough
I can have it.
It's called perseverance.
