Matt's Diary pt 2 Electric Boogaloo

Alcohol does make it harder to keep your resolve. The 300 kcal on their own would've been fine for a meetup though.

Well done, Matt! It sounds like incorporating big salads into your day is an excellent idea :)

I got my Air Fryer on Friday so I decided to try it out today. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well. I was going to make French fries to go with the hamburgers but they wended up burnt. The burgers were okay, but a little dry and well done.

I use my airfryer a lot when the weather isn't too warm and everything definitely need a lot less time than if I'd use the same temp in the oven. Which makes sense, I guess.

It seemed to take a lot more time than using the frying pan. For the burgers I preheated the air fryer at 375 degrees, then cooked the burgers ( 1/4 patties) at 375 degrees for 6 minutes then flipped them and cooked for 5 more minutes.

I never eat whole patties (because I don't like burgers that much) but that sounds like a long time. Don't forget that a lot of fat drips out of whatever fatty you heat in an airfryer so it's easy for things to go dry. I don't know what kind of patties you use but the patty-shaped meatballs I chop into rough chunks for salads are about an inch thick and done in 5 minutes tops, with one quick toss after 3 minutes just to make sure everyone has room on all sides. New gear in the kitchen almost always takes a bit of experimenting and googling but I hope your next experiment work out.

I was doing good until I had the slice of cake from Wal-Mart. I had a real bad craving for something sweet and I figured I'd get it over with.

As I write this I'm watching this video about how Japanese people stay thin (from the perspective of a Japanese person). He mentions one of the reasons is having a lot of fermented foods in their diet, which helps lose weight. I'm going to try eating more fermented foods like yogurt (and maybe drink more beer! :ROFLMAO: :beerchug:)

I'm sure they also mentioned the smaller portion sizes, small meat portions, relatively large amount of veg, and extremely low sugar consumption...

I used my air fryer to roast some chicken, it was fairly good, though a little dry. I roasted 3 pieces, but only had one piece because I was full.

He did mention smaller portion sizes but he actually never mentioned the meat/veggies and the low sugar consumption.

I ate too much obviously. I need to stop eating at Dash In because not only am I eating junk but it gets expensive. I was going to eat this bowl with roast chicken but it tasted kind of nasty so I threw it out. I went to a meetup later which was fun. They took a photo of the group, I'm on the bottom left if you didn't know already.

I ate quite a bit, I did avoid the vending machine, but went to 7-11 on my break and got some sweets there. I could have probably avoided them but it was a rough day as we were really busy.
