Lift, Train, Fitness

thanks guys,

all of the study paid off along with pictures and notes taped around our bedroom and the rest of the house. Although I felt solid on the muscle side of things for the anatomy, from having done it before for my other quals, however this was a whole new level of hard, both learning tiny muscles that had not been relevant in my past studies plus learning the nerves of the body and which nerves and blood vessels that are associated with each muscle, cranial nerves both name, number and function, the anatomy of nails, skin, and the reproductive, digestive and cardiovascular systems. The whole thing put a big strain on my poor spelling lol if I had any miss spelled words the answer was of course wrong. I make enough spelling errors typing here where I mix letters around without noticing until I go back to re-read my post, it is almost dyslexic in nature.

on the other hand the sport psychology just seemed to be common sense and just clicked into place.

I am looking forward to tackling the advanced exercise programming next month, as it takes a whole different approach than the traditional reps and sets schemes that are seen most often.

Oh well done Tru, congratulations! I loathed neuro-anatomy and was so happy when I passed my final tests. For which my study buddy and I practiced with the two best students of our year. We were all pretty much sure we'd fail the final practical test and the two other girls ended up making each other so nervous they didn't even show up. G and I went in anyway, figuring it'd be good practice if nothing else, snd we both passed...

It has been a mixed day so far, there is roadwork on our road and they have a big ditch dug across the bottom of our driveway, and we had to get them to arrange stuff so we could get out this morning.

I have stayed out most of the day, and spent time visiting a friend J who owns a gym in town, had a great chat but it was 44C when I got in my car to drive home and it is 39C in the shade on my varadah.

It seem I will be doing a training session in town on Monday so I can help J sort out a problem member. He and his partner are claiming to be powerlifters and selling unqualified personal training to members and telling everybody they are lifting wrong and asking for payment when the staff cannot see them so J has asked me to come in and do a training session when the problem pair are there to see what happens because 1stly the pair don't know me, 2nd I don't take shit from anybody when it comes to lifting and If they try to sell to me it will provide evidence of their underhanded selling. That and J really want's to see the look on their faces when they try to give advice to a fully qualified powerlifting coach and former national champion.

Now I am going to cook a steak for a late lunch with a side of salad and relax in the aircon.

I hope you catch them out, Tru. This could get very interesting.
44oC is so, so wrong! Ouch.

yesterday it reached over 40 in the shade at home, but did manage to get the bits needed for my cable system which we hope to install on the power cage today while testing out the new gym fan (ryobi air cannon)

Got the shits last night dealing with a relatively local food manufacturer who was promoting herself on an Australian made forum. I asked if any of her items were wheat free, to which she answered that some were gluten free, I pointed out that GF is not the same as wheat free, so she come back saying of course they are wheat free which did not sound convincing, so I commented with a couple examples of common wheat allergen ingredients and asked where the list of ingredients was (retail food products must have an ingredients list) her response was "yes those ingredient are in the products" and "I don't publish the ingredients list because it is intellectual property"

Ingredients lists are there to protect the consumer and when a food producer lies about allergens in their products it make life sooo dangerous for those of us that rely on accurate information to remain healthy of even alive.

In the shade before lunch, still a few hours to go before we reach max for the day, humidity at 50%, so according to the heat index calculation

Heat Index Temperature: 55°C (131°F or 328K)

Extreme danger: at this condition, heat stroke is imminent.

It is too hot to even go out in the shade, and hubby hopes not to be called to a fire today.

That kind of thing makes me furious. Lady, you could quite literally kill me with that mindset if I ate at your house! Of course I just don't buy things without listed ingredients, but it limits my already reduced options unnecessarily.

It is going to be a long night, D has been sent to the fire on K'gari at 3 this arvo, managed to speak to him on the phone at 5:30, it will be an all niter at the uncontrolled fire front.

Just got back from the gym in town, the roid bro and his partner didn't take the bait, I suspect I looked too confident and competent for them to try anything, they stuck to the corner and had a little Bro fest with their apprentices lol. After keeping my weights to a moderate level I upped the tempo to repping more on bench than the grunting hard and going red apprentice bro trying to get noticed on the smith machine.

It is hard to picture 6' + roid bros being intimidated by a 5'2 old woman with grey hair but they did not say boo once despite telling everybody else in the gym how to lift.

As for the fires, the fire D was fighting last night is contained but the main fire on the Island is likely to burn out the whole island. The inquiry into the fire should have heads rolling due to the incompetence of Parks and Wildlife who decided weeks ago just to let the fire burn when it was started by an illegal camp fire, and now it is no longer a simple fix and people have lost their homes. If Queensland Fire had been allowed in to deal with it early on the homes lost would be still standing and lives would not be in danger now.

That´s so sad, especially if it could´ve been prevented.

It´s FUN to picture... A shame they didn´t take the bait though.

I have be in excruciating pain the last couple of days, I have a strong suspicion of what I have done, but cannot recall how I may have done it. Time for a trip to see my Doc. not much I can do on the weekend.

My suspicion is a MCL tear, my knee is unstable, tender to the touch, swollen, and agony to move, I have torn it in the past so I know what it feels like :( , last time it needed surgery, I don't want to go through that again.

I have had some strong pain killers tonight, and almost no effect on the pain, I can phone to get a doc appointment in the morning willing to see any of the doctors at the surgery as my doc is usually only there Wednesday and Thursdays unless he gives me a call back after hubby gave him a call on his personal phone and left a message (doc is a friend). I could not sleep with the pain last night and it is not looking good for tonight despite the soothing sound of rain on a tin roof.

The sound of rain must be extra soothing in fire season. Hopefully doc friend will be able to make time for you but seeing someone when you´re in too much pain to sleep is sensible either way.

I really hope you get some relief today. I had enough trouble sleeping last night & just could not get comfortable, but mine is more discomfort than pain.
