Journey to Knowing

Down day today. Had to come into the office. That gives me about 2 miles of walking just from my car to my desk six times. Talked to a new coworker about the AT. He's probably a bit larger than me. Gave me a name of an rei employee who won't act weird because of my size. Good to have confirmation that isn't just in my head. Can't wait to weigh in Sunday. Crossing my fingers. I'd like to hit the 250s by the end of June. And 240 by end of July. I don't know if that is doable as I know the reduction will slow. Damn if I would have done 12 months instead of 18 I could've got $8k+. But I'm a realist and been at this for too many decades. Life happens so the extra time allows for that. So hungry today!

I don't know what an AT is or what happened at work Crowfeather or how losing weight ties in with extra $'s. Please excuse my ignorance. Hope your day improves & I hope you have an excellent weigh-in too. You are doing so well!

Done. Done. Done. Up and going since 5am. Just getting home. Surprised I've not stress ate all day. Body is sore. Got offered a chance to apply for a detail. I'm going to take it. Gotta tell my manager on Monday and it'll break his heart but it's a good opportunity. Goal is to stay under my calories through our this. Not so healthy food, I'll give a little pass on but I have to stay under that count.

I switched up my macronutrient percentages a few days ago, decreasing the carbs and raising the protein. It's a challenge to balance out the carbs (40%), fats (30%), and protein (30%) while balancing all the other macronutrients. My supper tonight will be nearly only protein with a few peas and some onions. I'll give this a week or two and see how it works before going back to the traditional percentages. It's stifling hot outside today and my body is so sore so one more day resting. At least my balance and fine motor skills don't seem to be effected. Went over my goal last night but think I may stay under today.

I have my macros at 40% carbs, 30% fat & 25% protein & struggle to get the 25%. I'm going to have to try to up my protein intake. I just went & had another look at adding more protein, without adding many calories. I'm going to hard boil some eggs & add some fresh walnuts to my next breakfast & eat more beans like lentils & chickpeas :)
Hope you wake up not feeling sore & have a good Sunday.

Thanks for the great ideas. I have a huge container of dried chickpeas that would be easy to cook up.

I went out to buy a bell pepper and my body completely crashed. No coordination & incredibly dizzy so I said screw my macros and had grapes and a little cheese for dinner. Headed to bed in a few bc the migraine will hit within the hour. So grateful it is the weekend! I'm short 72g on protein ....

My husband used to get Migraines & it was awful. I had read somewhere that drinking some straight lemon juice when you first feel like a migraine is coming on will help so he tried it & it worked. He used to get them when we got a rare chance to get away from our 7 days a week business & had the opportunity to relax. By the time he was over his migraine(never before he had vomited & then slept), it would almost be time to go back. Try the lemon juice- you never know it may work for you too. Taking away the stress was the long-term solution, but that is not always possible. Hope you get some decent sleep & wake up feeling better :grouphug:

Thanks!

Rocky start this morning. Scale is still holding just above 271. I'll give this new percentage until next Saturday then I'm going back to higher carbs. I've got to take pictures of trees this evening for a friend's FB page. That'll allow me to get some good exercise. Lots of walking. And I've been avoiding the dishes and laundry so I'll tackle that. Mood dropped when I stepped on the scale this morning. But not enough to stray off of my plan. One day being over my calories in the past three weeks. Not too bad.

Decided I'll try water jogging. I have panic attacks going near a pool lately. Funny for someone who was on swim team and spent nearly every summer in a pool or lake or ocean. Should help build up some strength. And I found free aqua aerobics classes on Wednesday and some low cost rumba classes. Today I doubled my morning calisthenics. Tired. Gotta talk to my manager about applying to another job. It's not a good time for me to leave but this opportunity is amazing.

Crowfeather have you had your blood pressure checked . Doctor was concerned that my headaches related to Bp .
I get so confused with all the percentages. Souks like you are in top of your plan so good going.

My friend went on a low carb diet and lost phenomenal weight but I’m talking 20g per day and now maintaining at about 100g.
But she literally eats no fruit and is careful on her veg intake. Bread is a no no as is rice and pasta .
She wanted me to try it but I just like my food and I like my bagel and lasagne so I will do it slowly my way . I have cut out all the bad carbs though and the soda and it will happen .

Thanks Petal. My bp is great. The headaches are an after effect of some other stuff going on that screw with my dexterity, coordination, balance, depth perception, etc. The migraine means the crash is coming to an end as my body decides it can go back to normal. No way to get around it as it's caused by everything relaxing. Sleeping through is the best way to handle it.

I'm up early, breakfasted, showered, and headed into the office. I hate disappointing people. But gotta do what I gotta do.

Intend to walk tonight.

Oh and my carbs aren't as low as your friend's. I'm around 150 so still can fit in some fruits. Don't think I could survive without my veggies and fruit!

I read about keto today. Wow. That's some strict dieting. If I slow way down to a weeks-long plateau I may try it but otherwise I'm going to stick to a healthy eating plan. This is a life change and not a quick diet. Been there. Done that. Doesn't work for me.

Cooked alpaca tonight. Such a better meat than water buffalo. May try swimming in the morning. Permanently upped my calisthenics. Next Wednesday I may go to a local church for their community exercise night.

I prefer no dairy but can't figure out how to meet the fat/protein without including it. Every now and then I do refined sugar. I'm surprised how I can successfully self regulate this time around. Like buying a rootbeer and drinking only half. Months ago that would have been impossible.

Weighed this morning and down .4lbs from my low weight last week and one pound from yesterday. Very happy. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day so hopefully it'll stick or go down more.

Decided not to apply for the other job. My current manager is ultra accommodating with my health issues. Not sure I could find that anywhere else. Plus I have this unhealthy loyalty thing lol. Feeling less trapped though since I'm choosing to stay. Somehow this relates to the weight loss.

Staying in that job, if you feel that you are being supported, while you are making so many changes sounds like a good plan. Choosing to stay for now gives you a buffer zone. Who knows what you'll choose down the track.
Well done on the further weight loss :)

Keto works very well and is not hard to maintain once adapted (I have been keto for years) however you need to be careful, there are several versions of "keto" primarily the unhealthy high fat version ( bulletproof coffee etc is not healthy) and the healthy version which does not promote high fats and promotes eating healthy green vegetables.

Thanks Trusylver. I'll look more into it. I must have been looking at one of the more unhealthy approaches. I was blown away by the amounts of saturated fat. Crazy levels imo.

Long long day. Had to sleep a little later. Tomorrow I'm up at 430 and downtown by 6 for an all day meeting. Intentionally riding transit to get more walking in. Hoping the weight doesn't seesaw back up in the morning as it's my midweek weigh in. And I reworked my meals tomorrow so that my macros accommodate a chai latte at Starbucks in the morning. A rare treat! Leaves me with a very small supper but after all the food I ate today to meet my nutrient goals, I'm fine with a light supper.

Good your making informed decisions about your job crowfeather . Sometimes better the devil you know and all that .
