Jaclyn's diary

I love shepherd's pie and my kids like it... despite all the veggies you can hide in it. I must say, I've never added ketchup. ;) Glad you liked it.
Dan is a lucky man...

Man oh man, I have been busier than...a bee? Or another animal that's really busy. I've been super busy, that's for sure.

Totallyscrappy, shepherds pie totally rules. I want to make it again with more veggies next time!

Thanks for 4me! Always nice to see you.

So yesterday was jam packed. Had class in the morning, then lunch, then class again, then I had to go to the doctor because I did in fact have a UTI (which sucks) and then to the pharmacy, then I went out to dinner with some girls from work. Today I work 8:30-4:30 and then drive out to Cocoa for Shakespeare class where I have to act out a scene from Midsummer Nights Dream THEN take a midterm. Ugh!

Breakfast yesterday:
Slim Fast Granola (220)
Cranberry Juice (40)

Lunch:
Leftover Shepherd's Pie (300)
Natural Barbeque Chips (150)
Watermelon (50)

Snack:
Big glass of cranberry juice (trying to ward off this uti 100)
1/2 mini bag of popcorn (50)

Dinner:
Japanese style tofu, noodles, veggies, and rice (so much food and so good...ugh)
Japanses Orange Sherbert (100)

I hope the Halloween Candy does not capture us all under its evil spell! Beware of the candy! one piece is fine though! ;)

bummer about the UTI =( hope you are doing better =)

and good luck with your midterm!!! i had two papers due on Tuesday and didn't sleep at all the night before - I hate this time of year!!!!

Oh man! I've been such a slacker! This is the worst time of the year, Amomono is right. I can't catch up on anything! I'm running around, working, doing school work, attending class, trying to keep my house clean, trying to see Dan, ect. I feel so overwhelmed and overloaded. In the next two weeks things with school should balance out and I'll feel better. I've been doing ok with my eating, not amazing, but ok. Here's today so far:

Breakfast:
1 Well Done Egg (70)
2 Slices Veggie Bacon (60)
1 Whole Wheat English Muffin (100)
Orange Juice (50)

Lunch:
Brown Rice with Sweet and Sour tofu, onions, and pineapple (400)

Snack:
Some chocolate  (270)

Oooh I KNOW!!! seriously I can just never ever catch up ..it's so overwhelming!!! I feel ya!! Just breathe .... =)
Keep it up, looks like your staying on track!!

Hi Guys-

I am new to this whole forum thing, but I found you all last night and now I am addicted. Today was my first day, and I am super excited to have found someone who is vegetarian on a diet. Urr- I have only been a vegetarian since June so I am still in the "I don't know what the heck im eating, except I know im not eating that" stage. Any advice you all could give me would be great! Thanks a bunch-and I will keep reading :)

Hahaha, always nice to meet new vegetarians! Here's my advice. Eat everything except for meat, and learn to love meat subsitutes. I love Morningstar brand and Good Deli brand subsitutes. There are also lots of vegetables that make great main dishes, like eggplant and portobello mushrooms. Yum! I'll take a look around your diary and see how you're doing.

Worked all day today, then went to a movie. So so tired. Dan and I are wearing each other out, and work and school aren't helping. I'm pretty happy though. Here's food:

Breakfast:
Slim Fast Granola Bar (220)
Orange Juice (50)

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Veggie Pizza (320)
Orange (60)

Snack:
Bit of chocolate (90)

Second Snack:
Kettle Cookied BBQ Chips (200)
Apple Slices (50)

Dinner:
Veggie Salami on Whole Wheat with smear of honey mustard (180)
Pretzel Pieces (140)

Snack:
1 Small Halloween Cookie (70)

I'm pretty much just maintaining my weight at this point, and I'm not motivated to change that at this point. Since the surgery I've hit a plateau and instead of constantly saying "I have to buckle down!" and "I need to start doing better!" I think I'm going to stick with this--keep updating the diary to keep myself honest and hopefully I'll find my motivation again soon.

I've found that the minute the motivation wears thin I find excuses not to post. I have to remember to update the diary even if I don't feel like it. I really think this online journal (and community) has been sooooo important to my weight loss.
How was the movie?
Totallyscrappy

The movie was kind of sucky. It was "Grizzly Man," about some whack job who lived with bears in Alaska until they killed him.

Totallyscrappy, I think sticking to posting food is the most important thing we can do. Keeps us honest. Even when I want something bad, I think about having to post it. Oftentimes I won't have it or I'll just have a little because I don't want to tell everyone I ate it. It's a big motivator for me.

Here's food today-

Breakfast:
Multi-grain cheerios in skim (150)
Orange Juice (50)

Snack:
Starbucks Light Frappucino (300) Agh! I was nodding off on the way to work--should have had a diet soda.

Lunch:
1 slice cheese pizza with mushrooms and onions (250)
Salad with balsamic vinegarette (100)

Snack:
Apple Slices (40)

Dinner:
Sweet and Soup Tofu (300)

Dessert:
Strawberry Lemon Italian Ice (150)

hey there girl... are you surviving during midterms? We have fall break this weekend, and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!! I get to see my fiancee too!!! wooo hoooo....

i definately think that maintaining is better than not paying attention at all... so i really do hope that you stick with that until you get the motivation to keep losing and get to your long term goals =) sometimes it just feels like it takes so much energy, and i just don't want to give all of that.. but in the end - it IS worth it!!!!

keep strong hon...

Hello Ladies-

I agree that I think that posting your food keeps you honest. Today for me was a little crazy...My store was super busy today-which kept me from constantly eating- so I guess it's a good thing . :)

Hey I went to that ticker site- and I made a ticker- how do I load it so it shows up on here?

I look forward now to coming home, and reading this. You guys keep me motivated.. Thanks :)

Colleen-

I TOTALLY hear you =) i LONG for a real job =)

I also really really love my bike... i decided to bike to a meeting i had today... and it was about a 20 min ride each way, but it was so worth it, and it was such a beautiful day... i felt like i had really done something that made a difference, not only for my body, but also by not driving i was helping the environment and trying to reduce consumption for gas prices and all of that stuff... it just felt so good! I got my bike at target... so didn't pay a whole lot for it - but kind of wish that i had bought something better at a bike store - i keep having tire problems...

Hey there chicky!!!!!
You have sooo much on your plate!!!!!....It makes me tired all the things you have to do in one day!!!!!.....Ohhhh you should get a bike!!!!..I want one toooo!!!!.....

Yay for bikes!

I'll probably buy a bike in the next few weeks. Next paycheck is mostly for rent, but the one after will be able to afford a bike, so I'll look forward to that. I still want to join Curves too, but right now just isn't a good time, with my crazy schedule. Hopefully I'll have a better schedule next semester. I don't want to join and never be able to go and throw my money away.

So in December I'm going to two Christmas parties for Dan's company and I'm super exicted. One will be in Gainesville, which is about an hour away from us, and his job is getting us a hotel room for the night! The other will be the next day here in Orlando. I'm looking forward to getting dressed up and what not. I love that kind of stuff!

I was running around like a MANIAC today, getting stuff done at work. Then I went to the store and got a balloon and flowers and a teddy bear for a girl from work who just had surgery and went to her house to visit with her for a little bit. Then I came home, made dinner, and now I'm taking a break from doing homework. Ahhh...I have off on Friday, which is cool. Hopefully I'll get a lot done.

Breakfast:
2 Wheat Pancakes with Lite Syrup (200)
Orange Juice (50)

Lunch:
1 Slice Pizza with Mushrooms and Onions (I have a problem. It's called Pizza Monster! 250)
Salad with vinegarette (150)

Snack:
Fat Free Lite Yogurt (100)

Dinner:
Spinach, Tomato, and Egg Tortellini with Garlic Cheese Sauce (i made it and it was good! 350)
Salad with Sweet Vidalia Onion Dressing (200)

Cookie with a bit of frosting (200)
