I don't know what it feels like to be thin.

I kind of just disappeared from this forum, but I'm trying to get back into it more regularly. I had a fantastic time eating healthy before something personal happened needing me to stay at my hometown for three weeks instead of where I live - which then again led to falling back on a more unhealthy lifestyle. Needless to say I have gained back what I lost before I travelled, but I'm back home now and ready to get into the healthy routine; and hopefully some jogging + muscle exercises.

Well done for coming back.
I'm kind of in a similar boat because I've been away for ages (and gained weight) but have come back...

I am telling myself AND YOU - coming back after gaining weight is not a sign of weakness - it is a sign of strength...
We have done it before and can do it again...

Nicely put, Omega. I'm more committed now, and losing weight is one of my biggest goals in the coming months.

I agree with Omega(welcome back!! :D ) Coming back is certainly a sign of strength. You are surrounded by strong & supportive people. Welcome back to you both xoxo

I think it's time for a small update for the last two weeks. Long story short, I am healthier, but not enough; and I don't exercise regularly yet. I'm working on it, though! I might or might not have lost one or two pounds, but I'm trying to force myself to not look at numbers too much so I'm mostly speculating. I feel better generally, but not by a large margin like I did a couple months back when I ate a lot of greens, potatoes and chicken. That's my main goal now; eat mostly greens, potatoes, rice and chicken, as well as drink mainly water. I do actually drink mostly water, but not as much as I should be.

To everybody who reads this; have a good weekend! :)

A quick update before I go to work. I weighed in at 98.6kg ( 217.4lbs ) just now, that was a way bigger change than I thought just by eating healthy for two weeks. I'm starting to get confident I'll be thin in healthy within fewer months than I originally thought.

That post above was supposed to say *thin and healthy. I was in a hurry, I usually always check my posts before sending them.
In general, I feel a lot better. I eat less, healthier, and move slightly more (although I still haven't started jogging regularly). I felt my work clothes weren't as tight as before, not by much but I could definitely feel it.

Basically, all I'm trying to work towards is the 4 words of advice that stuck with me:

"Eat less, move more."

I've been thinking a lot about diet, and specifically my weight lately. Every time I've tried to lose weight, I've always gone back to eating unhealthy, but this time it feels like it might be different. I have a much more relaxed view on eating now, and I definitely eat much less than before (on average). It's 11:45 as I'm writing this, and in however long it'll take me to get hungry, I'll just grab a banana. Instead of following a diet, counting calories and such, I've just found it easier to eat healthier by just... eating when I'm hungry, and not drinking calories. I'll see if I have to make dietary changes in the future.

A friend of mine said there's some advantages to fasting sometimes, and apparently this is a day I'm fasting. I got slightly hungry around 16 PM, but that went over in a minute. I don't think I'll eat until breakfast tomorrow.

Personally, I don't do intermittent fasting anymore, but I have in the past I have and I think it's great! That is, if you make sure that you keep eating healthily. I basically did it because it was easy for me, at the time I could shut off my appetite for entire days. Now I don't have that ability anymore, I can skip a meal here and there but even that's hard, I get hungry much quicker (so, I choose to eat healthier meals and exercise more). Anyways, if you like it, make (responsible) use of intermittent fasting while you can pull it off, it's great (again, in a healthy way. Meaning, you are in control and you don't do it obsessively, you get your nutrition and nourishment, you work on building healthy habits too so that when you reach your goal weight, you can switch to a sustainable maintenance mode and you are not entirely dependent on intermittent fasting). It can help you accelerate your weight loss and it has other health/mental benefits too.

Btw, great to see you making progress towards your goals (as shown in your weight now and in your first post). I hope to see you succeed!

Thank you so much IAmGoingToTri. Intermittent fasting is something I've wanted to try, but I have to find out exactly at what hours I want to do it, as I personally don't like eating closer to bedtime (I tend to sleep worse the more full I feel). I'm rarely also hungry when I wake up, so my initial thought is having the 8-hour span from 10:00 - 18:00.

I just had my first meal in... 42 hours. I remembered that the last time I ate was around 17 PM sunday. Might go for intermittent 10-18, not sure yet. I just ate a medium bowl of cooked broccoli, potatoes and brussels sprouts, and a big handful of strawberries at the side. The meal wasn't really that big, but dang I feel extremely full.

Can't speak for the future, but as of now I have no desire to eat or drink anything unhealthy, not even if somebody proposed a magical massive bag of chips with 0 calories. :)

I'd like that magical massive bag of chips right now. I ate a small handful of leftover greens from the breakfast, and a medium cheese-bread. I'm quite sure I could eat one or two small pizzas right now.

Yes, I haven't caved in to any urges. My energy level has spiked through the roof though, as I just finished a 7-hour shift at work and barely feel it. Hopefully that's not a one time thing. I've had one coffee, quite a bit of water and a small smoothie today. I'm going to treat myself with 1 taco later.

Weight is 95.9kg / 211.4lbs as of now, but I haven't eaten today so it's definitely going to change. That's effectively 7 kg / 15lbs down from my heaviest.
