Honestly, do you feel good after your exercise?

It does feel amazing.

Right after getting off the treadmill I feel like I can take over the world and feel like I'm floating. I love it! :)

Runners High

It has been a while since I have had the chance to experience a 'runners high' but I can say without doubt that I have felt it before. When I could run 5+ miles easily there would be a moment where everything would just click and it was really a natural high. (I was in college at the time so I was pretty adept at knowing when I was high. ;))

After a run/workout/etc there might be a good feeling but it is not the same. And coming back into the fold in my workouts now I feel good about having worked out but I've yet to get to the point where I can reproduce the runners high effect.

I've done many sessions of cardio exercises on stationary bike, treadmill, elliptical, etc. I read about how exercise helps to stimulate the production of endophins and how people feel good about doing exercise.

To me, I've never felt that bliss.. I mean other than the feeling of discipline and accomplishment of having done them, I don't really felt that good. Like some info I read that some people are addicted to exercise coz of the feeling that it gave them. Or I might be doing something wrong... Not in exercise sense of course, I sweated and got the heartrate up.

So it makes me really wonder, do you feel that wonderful feeling I mean the endophins related stuff, after your exercise?

I am the same...I do feel happy after I exercise...but it's more of a "glad I got that over with" thing.
I do find it clears my head, if I have been stressing about something. And I often have good ideas while I'm jogging. It's a good stress release but I don't really get the "runners high" that people talk about.

I am not someone who exercises a lot, but exercise does make me feel good to a certain extend. There is the feeling of becoming lightermaybe it is just my psychological thingy :p) and also the satisfaction I get from accomplishing the exercises. But well, it can be really tiring sometimes.

I feel tired after my workouts depending on how much work i put in. Although i feel the burn so i'm happy with that.

I feel so much better after I workout. The first week I joined the gym I got up at 4:30am and went everyday. I felt so good throughout the whole day. I haven't gone in the morning for 2 weeks, but I go at night sometimes when I can (I coach cheerleaders and have a daughter in dance). Even when I go at night I feel so energized and happy. Listening to the right music helps. I have my mp3 filled with upbeat hard hitting songs that gets me moving. You have to have the right attitude. If you are happy about your workout and what you accomplish, the rest will follow. Good luck to everyone!!!:hurray:

Yep, exercise in the morning gives you a great outlook for the rest of the day. Never been a fan of going at night. I work from home tho, so have the luxury of going when I choose.

I always feel great after a good workout. I find the harder I am on my body the happier I am. I say if I don't feel a little pain the next day I need to step it up a bit. I so wish I could exercise in the morning before going to work but I have to be there at 6:30. So I walk/run after work almost everyday. And on the weekends I do other exercising like hiking. And by exercising after work I relieve all the days stresses. Thanks for listening Tina

i always feel great after a work-out. I almost always feel horrible during.

Even if I'm so sore I can barely walk/move my arms I feel great immediately after a work-out and usually for a bit after unless I get stressed, then its erased.

I never regret having done a work-out, but I always regret missing one. Even during a work-out I might be hurting but I've never cut one short unless I knew going into it I had to because of time restrictions (except in the rare cases where I do something and the physical pain would prevent me from continuing, but thats happened once that I can remember)

No I don't really feel good after a workout.

Im kinda more upset that its over. I went on a wicked hiking trip on the weekend and i HATED when that came to an end!

I enjoy exercise, so it's never a relief to finish.

I did get a 'high' after I finished a half marathon, I just felt so energetic and GOOD! I think you only get that 'runners high' after a very long race.

I feel fantastic after I exersize but its because I swim. And I love it. In fact, I actually don't want to get out of the water! I always feel much more alive. So, yeah, I feel good after exersize :)

I do sometimes, if I'm feeling down that day then I normally don't feel as good. I guess it depends on the mood im in that day lol

I feel like crap a lot of times. I won't lie. I sometimes feel on the verge of puking, especially if I dont eat afterwards. I am sometimes sore too but that doesn't bother me at all.

Mentally though I feel great - a very nice sense of accomplishment.

I love the feeling after a workout, it is fully addictive! I wouldn't go as far as Arnie in "pumping Iron" and say it is akin to an orgasm, but it sure aint bad!:blush5:

For me it varies. Sometimes I feel real good after a workout, and then sometimes I feel a little beat up. I haven't quite figured out why as I keep a fairly consistent routine, and I don't increase intensity to dramatically at all. So I'm not sure what is causing my wishy washy effects.

I reckon that's normal. Just like sometimes you bounce out of bed and sometimes you just want to hide under those covers.
But it would be nice to love it all the time, hey?

When I was first starting out I was miserable. Everyone would say that exercise was supposed to give me energy, but I was always tired during and after. And my skin would itch like crazy during it so I'd be stopping and starting through whatever I was doing. After I lost a few pounds I felt so much better. I definitely regret when I get lazy and don't do anything for a few days. I'll be in a bad mood and just won't have much energy. I think it's something that your body gets used to.

I love how I feel after running. Short runs don't do it as much, but anything past four miles when I stop running I get this crazy feeling like my mind and my body disconnected and my body keeps moving forward. Afterwards I feel so clear and awake, which is sad considering I usually run at night or towards the end of the day.

I need to find the motivation to start running in the morning, but being a college student who enjoys partying a night or two a week it's hard to balance my schedule.

honestly, i'm addicted to that muscle pain or fatigue you get after working out. i love the healing process, it hurts so good lol... i also realized that setting small goals helps me stay focussed. long term goals seem so far away, but yes, i'm addicted to working out... i love how i feel after.
