Weight-Loss Holiday (Christmas) Challenge Chat Thread

I'm in!

During the Halloween challange I had a couple unfortunate life events that derailed me from being able to complete it, but things have calmed down sufficiently that I'm back on goal for the Christmas challenge.

I'm off to buy a piece of "motivational" clothing...a sexy dress that should fit well enough with about a 18-20 pound weight loss.

Off to an auspicious start - DD4 had a ballet rehearsal today, and rather than sitting around gossipping and snacking during, I went down to the local park and jog/walked for 45 minutes. Which I wouldn't normally do, except that the 3 hours a week of exercise is going to be a challenge for me.

I know, it drove me nuts having the sight down. At least I was watching football, so it kept me occupied..lol.

Don't worry about it, just wanted to make sure you and everyone else understood how it works. :)

Sorry to hear about your high blood pressure. 60min of walking everyday is 60min of exercise regardless of your pace. How far do you walk in that 60min? Just remember--any extra exercise you do now will not give you any extra pts later. There will be an extra exercise bonus week, but only exercise done during that week will count towards the bonus.

That's very good that any pace of walking we will count for an exercies but I have decided to push myslef little more and will count only the walking/jogging which makes me sweat. :ack2: (It's perfectly fine that there are no extra points for over 180 min. I do it just for my satisfaction.) I walk approx. 2 miles everyday but most of the time I just enter from shop to shop, it's only a 1/3rd of my way that I really do brisk walking. I am determined to never miss a bonus point!!!!
I will visit my GP soon regarding my blood pressure. It will be interesting if this strict regime and possible weight loss will influnce it at the end. I will share how I deal with the blood pressure as I suppose there are other people with the same problem.

come tom morning, first thing i plan on doing is getting 40 minutes of cardio in!!!

I have all my food planned out for the week and even my calories I am going to burn through exercise.. shooting for a 1.5 lb loss. I am not sure I can stick to all my exercises as i am pretty sick right now but I will try my best.
Can you believe Thanksgiving is only like 2.5 weeks away??
I did great in the Halloween Challenge, now if I just keep that trend going... LOL

Hope you feel better soon so you're able to stick to your plan. I like having a game plan too. I usually have an idea of what I'll be eating for each meal that day. I find it's easier to stick to your program when you already have it in your head what you'll be eating for your next meal rather then standing infront of the fridge trying to figure it out on the spot. You might not always make the best choices then. Anyway, feel better.

Obviously I didn’t want to clog up the main thread with this post which is why it is here. You will notice that I will edit my post so that there is nothing in it. The reason for this is because I am dropping out of the challenge. It isn’t that it is a bad challenge or anything I think it will help a lot of people with losing weight but it isn’t for me, not right now anyway. I need to get set up with what I am going to do, a plan that I can stick to before I dive straight into these types of challenges.

I just want to be sure that when the challenge is over I can stick to losing the weight, stick to a diet and a plan…to do it for a challenge is good yes, but for me the first step really needs to be me setting my goals and what to do for the week(s) that follow. I am sorry for any who are cross at me for this decision, but everyone works differently.

Hey Basic, I think it was pretty hard to you to drop the challenge and to post this explanation. Please don't feel any bad about this because what you said makes sense and it is VERY important to feel comfortable. We do keep suppport you on everything you do and please don't feel any pressure. There are millions of ways how to lose weight and everyone has to do it his own way.
