Help... I think I am plateued!!!!

Yeah, I don't know WHY you might be plateaued...but I broke mine by eating cookie dough, obviously. Went from stuck at 170 and doing everything right to eating chocolate chip cookie dough on Saturday and lost five pounds.

Maybe you should try that?

Hahaha, I would if I could have carbs. But that would be a no-no at this point in time.

This thread was more of a joke than anything. I'm actually not concerned. Although, I thought I was taking in somewhere around 1300-1400 calories per day and I just inputted my intake into fitday and it's much higher.... something like 1850.

I mean, even at 1850, that should be a pretty nice sized deficit for me. But not near the deficit I planned on. However, I'm following the diet to a 'T' from Lyle McDonald and making sure I get adequate protein and essential fats in per his recommendations leaves me at 1850 calories.

I'm communicating with him as we speak but he's pretty much telling me I'm being stupid.... if I'm following what the protocol says, stop worrying.

Not so much the whole mockery of it or anything, but purely because Mal assumed it was a mockery at first (correctly) then Steve retorted with a somewhat ambiguous reply, and then Mal fell for it and got serious (incorrectly)... only later to realize he was actually making a mockery of it all in the first place and her original assumption was indeed correct.

Also I'm asking because certain peoples were trying to push this information on me, but I was feeling kind of skeptical, so I wanted an outside source.

I've just clicked onto another area and it's good old Mal and Steve again probably sitting beside eachother in the "Weight-loss-forum" office trying to start up another thread. You guys can't be serious, I really believe you are seriously taking the piss!

Steve why are you complaining about not loosing weight on a 1400 calorie a day when I thought you knew all the answers. If you're such a successful Personal Trainer then how come you have time all day to sit and write on this forum? Very strange!

But I'll be damned if it makes a difference in my world if you're really this pathetic. I'm sure you're thinking the same about me but fortunately, there are a lot more people on this forum that praise me for my help than down me for my 'ethics' and that's what matters to me.

I didn't read the entire thing, but it's about resistant starch, which is (strangely) a starch that is resistant to digestion in the upper intestine, and ultimately makes it into the lower gut, where the bugs have a party and make some gas and some great short chain fatty acids.

The weight loss angle is the same as fiber as it slows digestion, increases satiety, more food for so many calories, etc.

In terms of colonic health, it appears to be better than fiber as it promotes specific good fatty acids and also helps prevent some of the damage from food.

David Topping is one of the researchers out of Australia that looks into it a lot. My buddy has seen him present in the past and he does a pretty nice story around RS. If you want to know more about it, I'd suggest doing a search on his name. I know there's stuff out there.

That's not true at all - while it's typical for newcomers to not stick around on this forum or any other forum - people sign up and post once or twice and leave -it's common in forum land - most forums tend to delete inactive accounts... this one - doesn't...

Not that Steve needs me to defend him, but he spends more time htan anyone answering newcomers questions, no matter how many times they have been asked before and geniunely wants people to succeed in a healthy way.

au contraire - you didn't give this forum a chance -you got a bug up youor butt that your fad diet was the be all and end all and when people poked fun at this diet - you weren't willing to listen.. losing 6lbs to fit in a dress is not the goal of the majority of people on this forum - the majority of the people on this forum aren't about losing vanity pounds -they're here for help to lose real weight to get healthy... and you didn't seem to pay attention to that fact.

No problem... it's something I actually haven't thought about in a while. The magazine passes it off as new and exciting, but it really isn't.
