You have no idea how far $6,000 can go towards making life better for a single village.
To me, spending $6,000 on a 'boob job' is the disgusting and sickening reality of capitalism.
No, because I don't have any of these things. Also, gym membership will cost $6,000 over the course of one's life, and it is easily argued that it is necessary for optimal health in life, to prevent obesity and ensure strength of bones for older years of life.
There are certain things that one needs in their life, such as shelter, food, water and clothing.
There are certain thing that are considered necessary in one's life today, such as a TV, computer and car.
Then there are things, which the necessity of depends on the individual, depending on their lifestyle.
But then, there are things which are totally ridiculous....and I believe this to be one of them.
A car, a computer, a TV is not a need. They are not necessary items. I expect that you will be selling most of your unnecesary possessions and takign the money to help a village. I also expect that you will be taking any money that you would normally spend on protein shakes, name brand shoes, cokes, candy, fast food and you will give it to someone who is in more need than you.
A gym membership is not neccesary to health. One can do bodyweight movements and never need a gym and be covered under the umbrella of health concerns. Resistance can be used to strengthen bones without the help of free weights, obesity is the result of dietary concerns, not gym time.
This is what truly aggrivates me...people who preach something such as spending on items and activities they don't believe in and throw it on humanitarian concerns but do nothing themselves to ever contribute. Maybe I'm wrong StarCraft and you've been shelling out money to the homeless, spending your mornings when you don't have school or work to feed the homeless, helping the poor with chores tehy can't get done, and contributing financialy to 3rd world countries. But if you're at home playing StarCraft, surfing the net, eating fast food, buying sodas, and etc I seriously doubt you have any room to talk about extravagant spending.
