Hi fellow Grinches!!

Cottage cheese is awesome protein. Mix in some sugar free jelly and ff whip cream for dessert like or some fruits... I sometimes put wheat germ in it for a more nutty flavor.

I hope we are all doing great this week!!!
I decided to put the scale away this week, it was messing with my motivation...I saw an ugly number on it yesterday and instead of doing my morning walk/jog I got all PO'd and just went back to bed... now that's not a great attitude!!
Looking at my stats.. this is a "loss week" for me right? :smilielol5:

How are you all doing with the Christmas tree? We are getting ours this Saturday and decorating on Sunday I think..
I would love to go clothes shopping ,then wrap it up for myself as gifts from hubby and see his face when I open "his" presents... Ha-ha

Ya know, I love the Grinch video- its one of my favorite Christmas shows. However, I would prefer us to refer us (hows that for a Dr Suess-ism?)as the "Who's" from Whoville. They are smaller and cuter LOL.

Anyway, today is shaping up to be a good day. I got on the NT for a 30 min workout- even tho my iPod battery was low and I couldnt listen to music. I took Haj's advise and had some cottage cheese with pineapple for breakfast. My entire breakfast was a whopping 20 grams of protein!

As far as Christmas preparations go, we started by decorating the upstairs Sunday night, and will get the downstairs donw later this week. I'm hoping that Sunday we can go and get a tree- we always get a real one. I can't beleive its 3 weeks to Christmas!!! I have so much to do! I am known to family and friends as the "Cookie Queen" and have to get working on that, as well as shopping and wrapping and such. At least this time of year will provide some distraction for me . . . I do miss Dad very much, and think of he and Mom many times throughout the day.
 
YUK, I'm having to eat protein this week and it's hard when I'm not hungry, but I'm doing it for our Team! I'm also going to workout Wed, Thur to get my 3 hours worth of exercise, since I'm feeling like crap. I don't want to let my team down, at least I can get bonus points, or try! Maybe I can sweat out this cold, I can try to get on my bike at home for 1/2 hr tonight, if I have energy, I'll see. DAMN I hate not feeling well.

Kim--way to take one for the team! :D I'm feeling your pain. I just hacked up some phlegm--:ack2: How lovely.

Yarmiah--It's only natural that you think of your parents often. My grandpa's been gone since '92 and I still think about him nearly everyday. :) Don't remind me about cookie baking...lol My mom and I will be doing tons of it starting very soon. :ack2:

Hajni--Nice job tossing the scale away for awhile. Sometimes it just doesn't do a body good. :D I like your Christmas shopping idea. :santa:
 
I'm so sorry gang! This protein thing is very hard! I always THINK i'm getting enough and am always short. :ack2: I was able to get on the NT 2 times this week, tho that is not nearly enough- this getting back on track thing is hard work! :smilielol5:

Don't you worry about the protein Yarmiah, I didn't get in my 3 hrs of exercise and for me, that's always a shoe in, I never miss my gym time, unless ....... I'm sick, like I've been this week, don't want to go spreading my germs to any of those people at the gym, as it is, that's probably were I got my crud from. If it wasn't for my pounding sinus migraine today, I would go and work out at home, but riding a bike just doesn't feel good, when your head is throbbing. One good thing??? I can at least give us points for protein and losing weight this week, THANK GOSH!! It's either one or the other right? LOL, hang in there Fellow Grinchetts, we still have more weeks to go.

Hi Grinches!

I should be getting all my pts this week, as the protien and exercise is going well. And, I'm down to 224.5 today, so I should be posting a loss as well.

Cindy Lou Who (aka Yarmiah :) )--Planning your day's protein ahead of time could help make sure you get it all in. Probably too late now, lol, but there is still Friday left. :)

Is anyone going to have trouble with this next week's bonus? I usually do ST 3X a week, so it won't be a problem for me.

I thought I'd have a harder time getting in the protein this week. I often struggle to get it over 100g. I guess having it as a bonus made me do some better planning. :)

Pre-planning the meals in advance is definetely the key. I would have missed my protein goal today but managed to squeeze some protein powder into my dinner so I am ok.

I took a peek at the scale (I am bad, I can't stay away from the darn thing even when I promised myself not to look) and so far so good, seems to be right on track. Will be a loss week so I can gain some of it back next week....:smash:

Come to think of it, my boot-camp is kind of strenght/cardio combo. There are 13 stations and you spend 1 min at each (set up similar to a circuit training) and while one station could be pure cardio (jumping jacks) the next one is strenght (arm press with 5 lbs dumbells).
Do you think I could qualify 1/2 of it as strenght-minutes? I do this routine at least 3 times a week (2x at the gym, once at home)
Otherwise I am afraid I do a lot more cardio (running, bike, elliptical)then strenght-exercises, which means there is some room for improvement for me.

Kim: don't worry about the gym.. I was sick in the middle of this challenge on the second week but I kept pushing myself and went to the gym even when I felt like crap so my head-cold just turned into a bad bronchitis and I had to miss the gym the next week anyway and was a lot sicker... There is just no way around it: plenty of rest and lots of fluids... will get over it quicker.

Team: I am going to try my hardest to reach my goal weight so I can collect the 40 points!! We have to win this challenge!!

Wow, only two more weeks left!!!

I also do circuit training, and it counts--I'm counting the whole thing--not half of it. Just because when people lift weights they usually take breaks in between sets. To me the "cardio" stations are the same thing.

Congrats on the loss this week, Hajni. :)
 
Hi Team!

Just stopping by to say good luck on tomorrow's weigh in. Sorry I haven't been around this week. I've been fighting a nasty cold all week and by the time I get home I've been too tired for my pc......but my challenges are done, the weigh in will be iffy, doubt there will be much change.
 
There are a lot of us with colds right now--we feel your pain..lol.

Well I did lose some this week, probably due to being sick and only eating protein, I'm so protein out I can't even think straight, I'm more of a veggie girl. LOL LOL I did get my bonus points,YEAH!! no 3 hours of exercise, sorry it's hard to do that when your head is pounding like a jack hammer is busting through, DAMN these winter colds. I"m feeling much,much better today, even though I do still have some chest congestion, but regardless I'll be back to working out Monday, and if I feel up to it, I'll jump on my stationary bike here tomorrow for an hour or two. I MIGHT get iced in this week, and if so, I'll promise to do biking every day for an hour, and weight training, as I can use my sons weight bench and free weights, I want to break through the 170's and into the 160's this week, that's my goal!! OH PLEASE let me make it there!! HEHEHEH HUGS TO YOU ALL!

Jeez girl! An hour on your bike? I've done that a few times, and my tuckus is killing me by the end..lol.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. I'm still the same--runny nose and chest congestion--like you. Hack hack...:ack2:
 
I seriously think we are twins. LOL both having this cold thing in the same week, this crap just keeps getting creepier and creepier. LOL LOL have a good rest of your day, I'm going to curl up by the fire and watch a good movie.

Well, it's been a rough couple of days.
Had a gain of .4 lbs for the week, and I was anticipating a loss 8(.
That past few days have been rough, not only for Mom, but for me too, dealing with missing Dad. I've been so busy with Mom, and my own household that I have not had time to journal, let alone gettin my exercise in. All in all, last week not a bad one for starting back up . . but I have to build on that and improve! I plan to get up early and exercise tomorrow in the am and hopefully do some ST too.
 
HI Grinches.

I am trying my hardest to keep it together this week. I think i will be ok with the bonus and exercise challenge but I am not sure with the eating. I stopped calorie counting and just eyeballing it.
I received some devastating news on Sunday, my grandfather passed away. I unfortunately turned to food for comfort and way over-ate on Sunday but trying to control that this week. Working and exercising takes my mind off of things.

Hajni--I'm so sorry about your grandpa. I was devestated when mine passed away, so I know how you feel. Take care of yourself, and don't worry about the weigh in.
 
Week 7 Bonus

My holiday goal is to eat the way I should on most days, but splurge on a few days when there are get togethers. As far as exercise goes, I plan to keep that up regardless. My goal is to maintain, and maybe lose a few lbs if I can. :santa:

I don't expect to lose much, but still hope to lose some. It will be hard without exercising consitantly, but still hope to be 163lb by Jan 1st.
