Weight-Loss Grinches Losin' Inches--team Thread

Weight-Loss
HI Team.

Happy Friday!! Are you all exited about tomorrow's weigh in? I am not so much... I have all the bonus points... but will be lucky for a 0 for the weight part... Oh well, I am not going to worry about it. I look good, I feel good, life is good,.... weight who cares... LOL
Ok, Bikini, I have to say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS WEEK'S BONUS challenge. It is a real challenge and really makes you focus on the foods you put in your mouth... I wanted to concentrate on keeping track of my protein besides the calories just never made that thought into action.. but now i have to :biggrinjester: Big thanks to your for that!!

Have a great Friday!! last day of work this week, can't wait to be over with..
Hajni

Amanda--I hope your headache has improved. :) I am a big baby when it comes to headaches, so you have my utmost sympathy.

Hajni--so glad you like this challenge. I thought I might get a lot of crap about it. But so far it hasn't been too bad. :D

My weight has been driving me nuts the last week, but today I finally got some good news. Down from 230 to 227--which is still up 1.5lbs from my lowest, but down 3 from what it went up to after TG. Still, I am thrilled it appears to be going down again. :D

I've got 50 min of exercise to do today in order to get all of this week's bonus pts. :hurray::hurray: <---jumping jacks. :D

Go team!! and good luck on the weigh in!

How are we all doing?

I have been hitting the exercise hard. I want to see a loss on Saturday. And I want my bonus points for the extra minutes. I think I will continue to add the 90 minutes a week to my program.

I have had a headache on and off since Thanksgiving. Advil won't touch it. I am calling the doctor tomorrow to make an appointment. Enough is enough. Umm.....maybe it's all the exercise? Even if it is I am not giving it up. What's a little headache? Losing weight and toning is worth it. :nopity:

Go Grinches!!!!!!!!!

Amanda, Great job on the exercise and I think you have hit the nail on the head with the headaches, it wouldn't surprise me if maybe the exercise is elevating your blood pressure, maybe that is what's causing the recent headaches, either way, I sure hope they can fix it lickity split for ya, it sucks working out when your head is throbbing. KUDDOS to you for still doing a fab job, your awesome!!

ME, well I worked out hard this week, but I work out hard just about every week, it's the weight thing that freaks me out, I can workout until I drop and most weeks I see no movement or very little, eitherway, I'm happy to get us some bonus points in this week. Hugs to you all!! and GOOD LUCK to you all for the weigh in.

Twin: YEAH to you on the weight girlie!! SMOOCHES!
Kim

Hello girls....

Hajni I like your attitude with how you feel about yourself, biggest benefit of getting into shape.

Amanda I hope your headaches improve. Enough water with the extra exercise?? I've been struggling with that now that the cold weather is here.

Bikini enjoy those jumping jacks!

Kim I hope all your hard works shows on the scale. I've been in the same 6 # range since mid July and just can't take it anymore---so far it is at least teasing me that it is finally dropping.

I have the bonus exercise pts done, hoping that helps. Today's weigh in was 161.6--quit a shock. It is pretty sad when I'm hesitant to eat just to get the darn scale to change again finally after months and months....I am eating plenty with calories 1400-1600, but one slip up and I'll start in on my pasta or white bread, that is what I crave over chocolate.:piggy:

Grinches

This team rocks. You are all so dedicated and educated. I am doing well too but I don't have even the half of the knowledge about the nutrition, metabolism etc. you have. This challenge helped me tremendously to learn more and still I don't always can justify every food in my diet and every segment of my weight loss project. Things are often chosen by chance rather than any scientific approach. Anyways.

My weight is very good, I will report loss for sure. And now going start calculating my proteins.:gnorsi:

I hope you have wonderful new week!

Wulsk--you don't learn everything overnight. I've been doing this almost a year--you just pick it up along the way like the rest of us do. I'm glad you're finding this challenge useful :)

Well, I finally got all my exercise in for the week--all 270 min of it. I did 50 min on the exercise bike tonight. My calories today are very low for me--1468! That's very good considering I have been averaging around 2000 a day the last week. I am hoping for another loss tomorrow. I'd like to get back to or below my ticker weight of 225.5.

I wish us all good luck at the weigh-in tomorrow and hope we all get lots of pts. :santa:

Good morning Fellow Grinches!!!!

Well, I tried. I collected all bonus points this week and still ended up with a gain...:smash: I kind of thought the 4.4 lbs loss was too good to be true last week...
Anyway, looking forward to next week... making sure to do all my exercises and counting my protein...
Have a great weekend!!!! Sending losing vibes your way for today's weigh in!!

Bikini: congrats on the scale moving the right direction again!!
Kim: I hope you see a good number this week!! You deserve it girl, you totally kick butt with your exercises!!
Wulsk: Sounds you are right on target this week!!
Lisa: Hoping the scale moves for ya!! I haven't touched pasta for a long time. I don't have a willpower to stop with a measly 1/2 cup for a serving...
Amanda: I hope your headaches are all gone now!!!!
Hajni

Yay! I was down another .5lb--but we'll see if it's still down tomorrow after the office party I'm going to tonight. :D

Hajni--don't worry, you'll get it down next week!
Wulsk--congrats on hitting the 160s!
Lisa--Nice weight loss this week!

Other Grinches--Don't forget to log your pts so we can have our whole team reporting by the time I tally up week 4 pts on Sunday night. :santa:

Great Job ladies, Your ALL doing FANTABULOUS!! keep up the good work, and remember just being here and sticking with this challenge all the way through is a HUGE accomplishment, so I'm so very proud of everyone!!

Hope you all have another EXCELLENT WEEK !! GOOD LUCK LADIES!

Kim:seeya:

Week 4 Results

I've edited the first post in this thread to update our pts. We now have 689pts as a team. Woohoo! All Grinches have reported--so we're all good. :santa:

Well, I'm still waiting for two teams to finish reporting, but so far we are in the lead by 18pts, and I don't see that changing this week. :hurray: :hurray:

I got my protein in today--easily, since I was at my office Christmas party tonight---oh was there yummy food--shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, venison meatballs, almond bars, cabbage rolls etc. I ate at least 172g of protein today!! Too bad I can't count it towards the whole team's..lol. We won't talk about the 3000 calories that I ate today.

Ok, now I'm gonna get on my exercise bike and maybe do some turbo jam. I've gotta burn off some of those calories--and I have a family party tomorrow. :ack2: :santa:

Hi ladies. We had an outstanding week. YAY!!!

Bikini great job on getting the scale moving. It's tough when it doesn't cooperate. Don't ya just want to do this to the scale sometimes:smash:? I know I do.

Hajni I'm sure that next week you will see a nice loss. Darn scale. Wonderful job on getting all your bonus points and getting the exercise in. It's so hard to get motivated sometimes. But you did it!

Lisa you had a great loss. Yep, I hear ya about hesitating to eat because you might gain. I struggle with that all the time. But you didn't cave. Kudos for that.

Wulsk yay for you on the loss. You rock. Got all your points and bonuses. Fantastic. Thanks for stopping by my diary. I just saw it tonight. :)

Miss LB don't apologize. You did fabulous with your exercise and motivation. Sometimes the scale just won't move no matter what you have done. Don't get discouraged.

I'm still having the headaches. It's getting really old. I have a doctors appt on Tuesday. Thanks for the good thoughts for me. They were much appreciated.

Amazing Job Grinches!!!!!!!

HI Grinches
I hope everybody had a great weekend!! Now back to slavery tomorrow.
It snowed here today and is wicked cold.
Went to the gym yesterday and exercised today at home over an hour. The lbs are still going up....what's up with that?
I am hoping this concentration on my protein intake will help a bit. i have to say I have been consuming more carbs then needed...even that i stay within my calorie range.
My stats are just so weird... I guess i must have reached the last 10 lbs territory... I logged clear weight loss every week on the Halloween challenge and here I am now boucing back and forth..
My clothes are fitting nicer though so that's totally positive!!
Here is to a great week and hopefully a loss again!

Hajni

Congrats on the losses Bikini, Wulks (wow, great week!!), Amanda, Lisa!! Congrats on maintaining Kim!! You have done better than I did.. LOL

This protein thing is harder than I thought! I got close to my 83gram mark, getting in 79 on Sunday.

Nuts are a good source yes? I have no problem squeezing some of them in. I bought some in bulk at the store the other day - the family enjoys cracking them open and snacking on them.

Yes, nuts are a good source of protein. Only bad thing about them is they are high cal if you don't watch it. I love nuts (haha), and tend to have trouble keeping my portions rational.

Have you got any protein powder? If not, I recommend getting some. I've got a big thing of it, and one serving is 110 cals and 20g of protein. I mix it in milk, cottage cheese, oatmeal and cereal. And sometimes coffee, but it isn't that great in there...lol.
