Weight-Loss Green Tea Info

Weight-Loss
I drink green tea because I genuinely like it! If I can't get it, then black tea suffices fine. I also drink Rooibos tea (which isn't actually a tea, and is caffeine free). I would stress that I am a skeptic about the 'slimming qualities' of green tea, or the claims that it speeds up metabolism. I drink it because I like it, and its nicer than bad coffee (the normal coffee here in England).

I drink Green Tea because I like it also

but I did start drinking it because of all the medicinal benefits I read about regarding its regular consumption.

However, my hubby and I now are Green Tea addicts and whenever we spot a Starbucks, we must HAVE our green tea lemonade, no syrup, of course :)

One thing about green tea though is that since it is a diuretic, you should up your water intake as well when you start drinking it. Green Tea tastes great w/lemon or lime...yummy!

I am sipping on some as we speak. I have also completely replaced coffee and tea with it

I think it does work and pharmologically it makes sense the way they descrbe it to start your metabolism to start firing.

I started taking a vitamin with a green tea extract three weeks ago, and have lost 15 pounds in the last three weeks.

Why take capsuls if you might aswel drink it?
Personelly, I just adore Japanse green tea, could drink a cup of it anytime..!

I despise tea, that's whyy.. The only time I ever drink tea is when I'm pregnant to tone the uterine muscles and it's misery.. Complete misery!

green tea vs. water?

I know that water is by far the way to go, but I was wondering if green tea is an acceptable replacement for it. I just joined and started my weightloss program today and I do not like to drink water. I plan to work up to drinking mostly all water during the day, but I need to work my way up to it. I was wondering if any of you know how the two compare. Thanks.

There was a topic in the Abrosia area about Wu-long tea and there was a comment about Green Tea actually not being that great for you......why - I don't know. So maybe someone can elaborate on that more.
I was drinking green tea pretty regularly for a while - - - - then my mug started getting stained so I stopped drinking it because I knew that was what would happen to my teeth after a while. Gross!!
I switched to water. Just plain purified water for me.....but I know some people like to put a lemon in their's. Plus, I think the lemon helps burn calories?? Maybe?
Good luck!

The nutritionist at sparkpeople has talked about green tea a bit - the question as to whether it's good for weight loss comes up often and the answer is usually, for it to have any effect on weight loss, you have to drink A LOT of it-- like at least 5 cups a day... The downside to that - that is a lot of extra caffeine you are consuming... and caffeinated beverages, if memory serves, should only count towards 1/2 your water for the day..

Hey, thanks.

Thank you for the info. I have looked into it a bit since posting and it seems that nearly every site has a different spin on it. I just need to buckle down and drink more water.

Green Tea

Dose anybody drink Green tea 'cause it's so great.
It's burns from 70-80 cal. for each cup.:)

The articles I've seen have said it's more like 3 to 5 cups will help burn 60 to 80 calories. Can't hurt, but I don't think it's a miracle substance.

I just started drinking it last week. Trying to drink in evenings after supper. I've heard it's good for you. Just don't add anything to it. I heard that will take away from it's benefits.:)

I drink it cause it's yummy and gives me just a tiny boost from the caffeine. Coffee makes me too high and then I crash. :p The antioxidants are a plus too.

Right :D yeah it takes away from it's benefits

Green Tea

I drink it all the time too..the first time I drank it I put a sweetener substitue in it, and it actually tastes better without it!

I had a sample yesterday of a green tea made by celestial seasonings, it was very good--had kind of a citrus taste to it..not so much "tea" taste..

Another thing I found--Lipton has green tea to go--it is powdered green tea that you add to your bottled water to make it an iced green tea..they have flavored ones--peach, mango, and lemon...the mango is awesome, and you are getting water in at the same time too!
