Gotta keep trying, eh?

Most people dramatically overestimate their caloric expenditure and severely underestimate their caloric intake. I would ignore fitday and keep eating roughly 1500 calories a day. The only reason to change your caloric intake is when your metabolism starts to adapt and you need to shock it out.

If it's a matter of sustainability (you're finding it too difficult/are hungry all the time) at 1500 calories, then sure, you can increase it some, and with good reason. But don't let fitday justify your mind's excuses to eat more. :p What ain't broken doesn't need to be fixed.

No I definitely don't feel like eating more, I'd probably have to force it down. I just thought it was outrageous that it thinks I need that many. That's even with the "very low activity" lifestyle setting.

I am doing alright Shells. I worked out, so there's that.

I read all my old entries. One big downward spiral. That seems to be a pattern in my life.

So I was watching John Berardi on YouTube. I REALLY want his new cookbook. I love cookbooks, so I know it's something I really read and get a lot out of. It'll have to wait until I see it at the used bookstore or something though. He's a really likeable guy. And I wasn't expecting him to be hot. I was thinking he'd be some rock hard old doctor.

Anywho, food is getting scarce. Haha, I sound like I'm writing letters to the homefront from the Oregon Trail. We finished off the tuna, and moved on to the hamburger. Not my first choice, but we gotta eat what we got until the tax money comes in, then it's lean food all the way! After this we have one steak, one chicken breast, a loaf of bread, a can of pineapples, about six eggs, frozen peas, frozen spinach, tortillas, potatoes and a few spaghetti noodles left. Oh yeah and instant rice. As you can see, the carbs outweigh the proteins. We have whey, but no milk. So yeah, time to go shopping soon! I can't wait to go to the store and get good foods to work with. Not that those are all BAD foods, but you know what I mean, not nearly enough proteins.

In an effort to make vegetable soup more protien-y yesterday I put some hamburger in it. Not bad, kinda like bland chili.

I'm in a good mood. I feel good for lifting and I feel inspired. I hope it lasts.

I was told I should get the cook book as well - I think the first one though Gourmet Nutrition cookbook

Theres a few right??

There is a link in the ChillOut log, I posted earlier today. Along with many other articles by this much respected person.

Just to let you know.

Yeah I saw your post Chillen, that's how I got on this kick today:)

At first it sounded too good to be true, then I read some of it and now it sounds too complicated to be manageable...I hope not.

I didn't like the part where he says "Get the body you've always wanted." Just because that's what you see on every scam ad ever. I don't think it's a scam, it just turned me off.

Also deep down I'm afraid it'll be yet another thing that doesn't work.

Thanks Chillen! Hope to start reading it soon. I wish I didn't have to sit in front of the computer to do so though.

Yesterday:

Food:
10:45 - Whey shake
1:00 - WORKOUT
2:00 - hamburger (homemade, grease drained) and a pickle
5:00 - This was our VDay dinner. My entree was a seared tuna salad....delicious! But I did have some of the dessert we ordered (Kaluha Cheesecake) and two glasses of wine. Then later in the night I had a few bites of my date's leftover food (some sort of pizza)

Workout:

Squats 3x12@30
Deads 3x12@40
Bent over rows 3x12@15
Bench presses 3x12@30
Crunches 3x12
Side bends 3x12@20

I'm a little sore. Guess I should stay on track more often. Really gotta avoid the downward spiral, I feel like I'm hanging on to the edge.

that edge is the source of life. stauy as close to it as uyou can. The better you get at being on the edge, the harder the edge is to find.

just a lil philosophy I believe in

Habits are more powerful than momentary desire. Habits are more powerful than information. Habits are more powerful than guilt. And only a concerted, conscious, daily effort to override habits will lead to success.

It's all about getting your head in the right place. Make not doing it more painful than doing it and everything you want will be yours.

Thursday:

12:00 - Breakfast burrito made with egg whites, spinach, onions, and half a piece of cheese, skim milk
3:30 - Pineapples, hamburger, no bun
7:00 - The other half of that vegetable soup with hamburger in it
10:00 - Protein shake. I was feeling snackish.

Question, is my journal not serious enough? I read around on some of the other journals and it seems like people are annoyed by other journals that are...chatty. And a lot of my posts don't have a whole lot to do with the technical aspects of other people's workouts, but I know I shouldn't be doling out advice. I guess I'm afraid I'm just fluff.
