Hi everyone! I'm Phoebe, and I live in Oklahoma, where I'm a tax CPA. My 5yo starts kindergarten on Friday.
New exercise 1 for the week: I turned the compost pile. I've done a bunch of garden stuff this summer (mostly digging out beds), and my parents had a compost pile when I was living at home, but I've never done one myself. I set up the enclosure yesterday and dumped my stuff (leaves from my parents' yard, garden trimmings from my garden, coffee grounds from Starbucks) in, but it was too late to water and mix. So this evening, I spent half an hour with a pitchfork and some 5 gallon buckets, hauling water, wetting things down (just enough, not too much), and moving the pile from one side of the enclosure to the other and back with my pitchfork. It's already nice and hot and smelling good, so I'm happy.
That was actually more fun than you'd think. It took a little bit to figure out the most efficient method of moving stuff around, and I wish my enclosure were better-staked, but by the end, everything was nicely damp and nicely mixed and I was sweaty and starting to get sore. I'm thinking I might dig out some more sod and relocate the pile around the corner, because I don't have a lot of working room where it is. It'll need turning in a few weeks anyhow, so plenty of time.
I'm thinking about jumping rope for the second part, but may change my mind. I usually try to get my big chunks of exercise on the weekend - I only need the 2nd 30 minute new thing to get my 3 hours, because I did 2 hours on Saturday. If I don't do it over the weekend, then get busy during the week, I find myself too much in arrears and struggle to catch up.
I'm good about drinking my water, so anticipate getting all my points there!
