G8r80's training / dieting / cycling / log

Yesterday:

Pool was full, so went inside

Gym: bench press: 135# x 6, 155# x 6, 185# x 3, 165# x 3.
Dips: 10, 10, 5, 5.
Numbers were off. I think I need an extended arm rest.
Stationary bike: 45 minutes. Had to pick up daughter from band practice.

Today: 4.4 miles in 45:00. I am going to take next week off for weight training and focus on tri events.

I am in Athens, Georgia, this week.

Today: 3 miles in 31:00 minutes in morning, 6.2 miles in 59:17 this evening.

Good to see you keeping up the log.

Because you travel, are these discovery runs in new areas? Places you have been before, or treadmill at a hotel?

I guess the bike is strictly for Florida.

Johnny, I brought the bike to Athens with me (drove here), but it has been raining cats and dawgs (get it?) here this week and have not been able to ride or run outside. So, this has been treadmill stuff. Generally, I try to go outdoors if it is safe.

I'm in Richmond, Virginia this week.

Yesterday: dumbbell bench press, 50# each hand, 3x15
bent over rows, 50# each hand, 3x15
6.2 mile run, 58:00

Yesterday: 600 yards pool swim - felt weak, winded and slow. 30 minutes on stationary bike.

Today: 7.3 miles on treadmill. 8:57 mm average.

Goooo Dawgs! Im a UGA girl. :) Glad you didn't drown with all the rain we had this week. We are waterlogged her in GA.

You aren't kidding, Mel! We were running in and out of the rain the whole time I was in Athens.

By the way, I never saw such a high density of bars as I did in downtown Athens;) Ya'll must drink like fish.

Today was a 2-workout day.

Morning:

Dumbbell bench press: 50# (each hand) 3x15
Bent over rows: 50# (each hand) 3x 15

Flew back from Richmond to Tampa

Evening:

Bench press:
135# x 3, 180# x 3, 165# x 3
Dips: 10, 7, 7
Parallel bar pullups: 5
Arms were toast
Stationary bike: 60:00

I thought that was every college kid... I don't drink now fer sure. Who wants to work THAT hard in the gym? :) Weather has been nice for the last few days after. We needed that cleansing I think.

Why are you in Athens? Might go next weekend for the LSU game.

I did a training class in Athens last week. UGA / LSU should be interesting. I think they are evenly matched.

You seem to be on your game at night! You shaved quite a bit of time off...

I am still 5 - 6 minutes off my best time this year, which was before my shin splints kept me off the road for months. I would like to break 54 and maybe 52 in a 10K before the end of the year.

How much running are you doing now?

Running 3-4 times a week which is not as much I would like to. Good luck with your time, I have figured out I am going ot have to start running longer distances and times to increase my speed. Bah. :)

Actually, Mel, once you have the base, and I think you do with 3 - 4 runs / week, the best way to increase speed is to do faster intervals and not necessarily increase distances.

Did you go to the UGA game? Dawgs pulled it out on final play.

Today: set out to do the bike and run splits of an oly tri, but flatted after 14 bike miles (and had to walk the bike back barefoot 1/2 mile).

Bike: 14 miles. Avg. pace 20.2
Run: 5.8 miles. Paid for the brisk bike pace with a pedestrian 11:30 run pace.

Yesterday was a heavy work day. No workout.

Today:

1000 yards pool swim. Time was so awful, I won't post it. Suffice to say, I was gasping for air after every 100 or 50 yards. Terrible. That half Iron time of 48 minutes in April seems like a thousand years ago.

Bike: 25.2 miles, 1:14. Not bad for me, but a little off my April time.

Run: 5.8 miles: 58 minutes. Not bad for me.

Thanks Todd. I have a big triathlon schedule for 2010 (1 sprint, 1 oly, 2 halves, and IM Cozumel), so I have to get focused.

Yesterday: 1500m swim. I realized I was going out too hard and slowed down the pace to a pace I could maintain.

Today: 1500m swim. 4 mile run.

4 mile run: 38:30
