From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Thanks Cowboy! I'm trying.
Thanks Lama! Another 2 today!

I'm 274.4 this morning.

Thank you LaMa!
Sandshoe Cate!

I topped off the wood rack on the porch with 4 or 5 big wheelbarrow's of wood and built a big fire last night . It made my back feel like crap, but I did something active, and I heated our home with trees that died in our woods.

I've been swamped at work, but I've really gotten to be a supervisor and project manager. I think I'll be pretty ready to head the group when my boss retires in a couple years. I wish I was able to go out and plant trees or do the other field work, but it's good experience.

273.6 this morning. I'm glad to be down 5 already. I have my appointment to discuss my MRI results is this morning.

Fingers crossed, superstition or no :) Good to hear you feel like you´re getting a handle on the changes at work!

Thanks LaMa!

Unexpectedly good news from the MRI. The old problem has gotten much better. It shouldn't be causing problems. The material that was engulfing my sciatic nerve is gone! The bulging disc above it is protruding more giving me the current woes. So I get an epidural injection and hopefully that's it. Surgery could be possible, but it's unlikely. I'm so relived! I'd be jumping for joy if I didn't still feel so awful.

Thanks LaMa!
Thanks Cate!

272.8 this morning

After the relief of finding out the good news on my back we got a phone call from a lady who found our dog that ran away almost 2 weeks ago. So far so good for 2017. I'm going to get that shot and make 2017 a great year for me personally even if it may be an awful year for our country and possibly the world.

Yay for Doggy´s Return! No single year can be great for everyone. That´s no reason to not have empathy but it does mean you don´t have to feel guilty for finally catching a break. Almost 6 pounds gone already?

Thanks LaMa!

I weighed the same Sunday as Saturday, but then it's up over 5 pounds today with stomach woes.

No problems with my eating this weekend so I don't know what is happening.

They're sorting themselves out. It must be an effect of the new pain med.

I have my appointment for the epidural. Next Tuesday with a standby for this Friday.

I've been working on tool handles and sharpening blades and irons. I've also bought a couple vintage tools. I intend to extend my woodworking skills into building with manual tools. Learning to join wood without fasteners and hopefully develop into handmaking furniture for our home. I'll keep carving too.

Developing your woodworking skills even more, will be so fulfilling Q. Making your own furniture without fasteners? Such a brilliant skill. I'm envious. Do you suffer from allergies to certain woods?

What Cate said :) Please make sure to post pictures regularly! Also all the best for the epidural; I hope it works a charms and gets you meds-free.

Thanks Cate and none so far. One advantage of using manual hand tools is that you make curls and chips instead of dust and I have never had skin contact issues with the local tree species. You have trees that create some pretty strong oils and latex for protection in your neck of the woods.

Thanks LaMa! I can't wait to get off these brain melters. I don't need help forgetting or being confused.

Thanks Hana! Little Greta is trying to lick my beard off.

Thanks Chef! I seem to remember you having a fighter pilot rig at one point.

273.0 this morning which is back down to Sunday's weight. I felt pretty decent last night so I ran a mile. It felt good and for a bit after I was rather clear headed and then the meds sunk me back into the fog.

It's the sun that lifts the fog. So my positivity or my sunshine for today is that the pain will be gone soon and the fog will lift. A fully functional Q will emerge and he will be an unstoppable force for the good of self and others.

Happy Tuesday WLF friends!
