Fitness after 4

Wow 38 weeks is impressive. My son has some autistic spectrum issues...no diagnosis as he seems to be progressing at the level of his average peers and tested out of is IEP. However, social skills are hard for him and that is where the problems become more obvious. Fragile X can be difficult from what I have read, it is amazing you have managed to make time for yourself. Send me a PM if you would like to chat more, I don't want to pry but I would love to chat more. Thanks again.

My legs feel like cement blocks! Going downstairs was a treat this morning, I had to walk sideways lol. Muscle soreness is at least evidence that I am doing the right things . I am sure by next week I won't have this problem. I am lifting today (upper body), so the other half of me will be sore by tomorrow. I took ibuprofen 600mg and am waiting for it to work so that I may go for a run. I managed another day of respectable eating. Calorie intake ended up at 1300, but I swam for a couple of hours in addition to the work-up so I ended up starved. Overall, I feel positive and am feeling better each day.

I survived my run yesterday, but was pretty sore the rest of the day. Today is much better. I plan to swim for cardio and to lift weights this evening to match my schedule. I am feeling better than I have in months. I am staying on track food-wise with the exception of a glass of wine last evening. It was a treat and I really enjoyed it. I have lots of gardening to do as well, so that should help me burn some more calories. Off to water my garden.......

I haven't seen this log Missy. I see you post in Sparrow tho.

stairs sideways LOL!!! hahahaha

I needed help off the potty yesterday - ok not really, but I was super sore...

good for you on staying in the game, if when it is sore.

Appreciate it, it won't last long.
Sweat Daily!

Thanks FF. I am working hard to stay at it. I know the pain is temporary but in a sadistic way I find it motivating. Looks like you are a machine as always. Left you a note about your running advise will be using it. I have got in to trouble with bad form in the past...shin splints, knee pain etc. Trying to keep it away this time.

Would love to chat and will do! I have been busy setting up my new computer so I haven't had a whole lot of web time :)

Talk with you soon! Diane

Back from a busy weekend. Here is my weight saga. After my initial post of 145lbs, which assumed to be my approximate weight, I weighed myself and was actually at 148.5. I thought that can't be right weighed myself the next morning and I had actually hit an all time high of 148lbs. I weighed in today at 145lbs even. So I think I have lost 3 lbs total. I am not going to measure until next week. I am also going to trend my weight daily for a week to see what happens. Yesterday I cheated a little , we were at Knoebels lol I managed to eat properly minus a little funnel cake! Overall, I have more energy and am pleased to be back on track. Will post my workout later.

I agree Stingo, avoiding the scale for a week to see. However, I am so pleased with how I feel the numbers don't seem to matter.

Today I was not able to workout due to a grueling day at summer registration, but I will be on track tomorrow for sure. I did eat well today and since nutrition is half the battle I feel good about things.

Well I haven't posted in a week, but life has been hectic. A family friend passed away suddenly and I have been catching up on work. With the exception of the weekend, I am eating well and exercising. I am feeling beter each day and have managed not to get back pain (yippeee).

Running is going better and I am finally at the point I can run without feeling it and just think. It is very relaxing to be back in the groove. My distance still stinks, but I don't want to push things to hard.

Diet wise I need to be stricter, that is my goal this week. I have justified a few too many cheats ;-)

Overall, life is good!

Today I am tracking my diet to try to be better. I will post my list later. I am hoping that will keep me honest. I am planning on lifting today with a short run (2 miles) just because.

On a more frustrating note I am having some problems with heart palpitations? They are new to me, I am hoping it is from caffiene. I have cut out most of it. Yesterday I had a cup of coffee at 1pm and was up half of the night with palpitations. Hopefully today is better. The other culprit may be my allergy medicine, so I am avoiding that as well and sneezing lol

Off to make lunch.

And if you misbehave...

Comin' to gitcha!

Also, the palpitations are probably nothing. Is your allergy medicine an antihistamine, a decongestant, or both? 'Cause if there's a decongestant in there, it may well be the culprit. A single cup of coffee at 1pm wouldn't do much to most people, especially if it's the first one of the day, unless you're particularly sensitive.

I would try eliminating one thing at a time, to see which it is. If it's the allergy medicine, you can simply get one without a decongestant in it, and that may well take care of it. An antihistamine, if anything, should make you drowsy. :)

Thanks for the the visual cues Focus. I wish I could say that was the only cup of coffee. I continued with palpitations all morning and today they are gone. I miss the allergy medicine, but I am thinking it may have been the culprit. Back to normal though...as normal as I get. I did not do much in the way of exercise yesterday other than housework, but I am sure it burnt calories. Today i feel much better, will be hiking with kiddos this afternoon and running tonight.

Diet yesterday was much better. The only thing that I should have avoided might have been my hamburger for dinner, but it was 90% lean meat. The rest of my meals were what they should be. I also avoided all of the great starchy salty food that I crave.

Yesterday's lunch was great ...tomato slices cucumbers (all from garden) and tuna on the side. My garden is 100% organic, so all is good! Breakfast is oatmeal today, lunch will be a rerun as I am not bored with it yet. Dinner is grilled chicken, zucchini, and snap peas.Snacks are to be determined, need to stop and purchase some options lol

No more palpitations since I stopped the zyrtec! I guess I live with the allergies.

Today I planning on running 3 miles, that is up from the 2 miles I have been doing. I am also going to plan my diet for the week and stick to it. I cheated Saturday and went out to dinner. Other than that I am doing okay most of the time. I do think a week long plan will be helpful to stay on track.

I think I am doing a decent job of staying on track this week. Yesterday's workout turned out to be swimming with the kids, but I did make the most of it and do laps while they play. I was definately getting my heartrate up and using muscles I don't normally use. Today I am planning my cardio in front of the tv with Jillian. Dut to my evening committments I will nto have any kid-free time to run, but I find her DVD's are challenging and they shake things up a bit. I ended up using the same method on Monday as well and was sore the next day.

Diet wise I was on track until I had a glass of wine with my hubby after dinner. Hard to turn down a treat like that lol.

Completed my scheduled workout for the morning. Muscles are burning, heart rate sufficiently elevated. My kids were bored and joined in, they have new respect for mom lol. I am even on track for the amount of water I am scheduled to drink. Overall, I am feeling great and looking forward to the next workout. I forgot to mention that I weighed in this morning (I have been avoiding it) and I am at 143lbs...down from the 148lbs I was at 2 weeks ago. I am pleased with the direction of the scale, but more pleased with the muscle definition I am starting to see again. Everyday I am feeling more energetic and ALIVE again.

Out****ingstanding. :D

That's really quite perplexing though, re: the Zyrtec. Such is life.
