FF'in Implementation - Let's Throw

Problems with caber-
You need to get both hands under. keep your fingers intertwined and locked together. You need to get it picked higher so that the end should be resting about where your the lower portion of your pecs are. Keep it in tighter between the cheek and the shoulder.

ok,,, did about 20 throws today...

took over 10 tries to get the 16' 75 lbs over...

and here is a throw from the rear angle for you coach.

the phone call made all the difference in my finally getting that throw to go over... how long til my abs stop hurting- LOL!!! this is so much more than meets the eye!

I will take a gander when I get home tonight as we can get to youtube at the school/work computers. But congrats! There's nothing quite like manhandling a large caber and flipping it.

been lifting 3 dyas a week, and last night i was doing a circuit

Bench Press
Power Clean
Pull Ups
Sweepers

all very heavy,,, 3-4 rep maxes.

Such a switch! Good for you ;)

OK-- I will pick my journal up again, and stay more current with it.

Have 2 new implemets- cabers. 1 is a 4x4x15 weighs about 75 lbs, pressure treated. The other is a 6x6x16, and I have rounded it out, and it weighs about 130 lbs (tooo heavy and too long for me).

This dude Craig who is major in the games did a 140+ lbs 19'6",
my current hero

so me being new, this big one I have is over my head. But I have been standing it up, and trying to "pick" it- as it's called.

Weight this mornign is 198
bicepts cold 16 3/4 inches
calves cold 16
max bench is now 255 with 2 reps (couldn't quite get 260)- should have rested.

Time to cut and get my flexibility back so when I go to the games I can play without getting an injury. Ocala Highland Games in October- here I come!

amazing work so far FF!
i am impressed with the bench pressing and the arm size! thats great!!!

i am interested in how you do your pullups--with weights attached? the set/rep style.
that along with bench press--what do you do?

very good improvements! i like the clean and jerks too! how much weight you putting up!? ^O^

didnt see this- no weights for pullups. But I almost always incorporate them. My most common routine that includes pullups is this:
power clean with deep froint squat x 4, to single arm dumbell (row to curl to overhead press) x 4, to pullup x 4, to floor sweepers x 4, to jump rope to exaustion. no rest between reps, but I do rest between sets. Almost throw up most the time after the rope! i will do 4 sets of that.

bench- 135-150 for 15 reps to warm
then I climb the latter 10 lbs at a time,,, trying for 6-8 reps. usully get 2 or 3 at 225 and I am toast. Then go back down the latter.
But, with the bench sets, I split for long bar rows (135 lbs), unless there isnt a bar, then I do single arm rows with 50's.

once in awhile I try to max. best so far is 255 solid lift,, 260 i failed on.

the most I've on a clean and jerk is 155... because I do not throw down the bar, I set it down,,, it is hard to lower it back down, tends to pull the trap muscle. Once I get a long bar and some plates for home, we will see.

Freestanding squats are tough, but man do they feel good doing them :)

BTW... i see a jump rope challenge ahead... LOL

hahah nice wood! Teay but its usually from the girls.

Thank NBS! I have been chowing down and ripping at myself heavy,, getting stronger. Feels so good to be doing what my body likes. Widdling myself down to that ironman bodytype was very difficult.

Tme to start doing squats for the day.
