Weight-Loss December 2lbs a week challenge

I'm in - never done a challenge either - but I am so tired of losing and gaining the same 5 lbs for the last year ... now that 5 lbs has turned to 15 ... the last few months I would lose 1, gain 2, lose 1 gain 2 ... wow - now I have a LOT of work to do!

Start wt - 144 lbs

Starting Weight (November 28): 137.5
Dec. 1: 139.5- up from my starting weight, very bad way to start
Dec. 5: 137.5- so thats two pounds from my last weigh-in, but nothing from my starting weight. Which do I go by?

1/1/07: (uh huh, a New Year's morning weigh-in! AWESOME!)

Weight Loss: 5.0# in 1 week + 5 days.
Goal: Lose at least 2.0 pounds per week in December.
Eating: 1400 calories per day.
Workout: 5x per week, 24-minutes on treadmill at 5.3 mph (current). Increasing calories burnt by 10% per week (330 calorie workout last, 336 next).

Argh, I worked so hard this week, and I only got a small loss.. Maybe it's muscle from all the weight lifting...but still disappointing.
