And success! 217! 10%!!!

Oh, that's great success! Well done!

Thanks everyone!

Had another great day yesterday, no cheating, calories were 1,234:

And another sip of success, this morning, at 216 and 11%. Wow. I credit the 200 calorie drop — like a little imaginary line at about 1,300 calories where I can lose weight vs. not.

Headed off to walk shortly without Nate. Stupid 1st day of school. :rotflmao:Our plan is to start walking in the afternoons during the week, but he’ll be too full of the day this afternoon. We’ll go in the morning.

I did a silly thing. I ordered a bikini. I ordered the largest size they had and It probably won’t fit yet but soon. Hoping to wear it in my 60 day pics on 9/7 if it’s not too ridiculous. It’s going to be a bit ridiculous even if it fits right, but it’ll be the best as far as seeing in pics what I’ve already lost and still have to lose. Damn all your eyes! :smilielol5:

Happy Friday everyone, hope all is well ...

Ok, awesome news folks. My other son Ryan is home from his internship for a week before heading back to college. And he’s been in a few weight rooms. He’s going to head to the Y with me one day this week and give me an intro to the scary weight room. And I get to spend some time with him!

Wow indeed, that is great!!!

Why not! This is the right place to post pictures like that, no one here really knows who you are, and most of us share your weight problem. Certainly no one here will be judgmental. And I am sure you will look better than you think you will! Its great that you have the confidence to do something like that.

Haha! Thanks everyone. Yeah, back up to 218 today LOL, it’s ok I know I’m headed in the right direction. I won’t bother posting yesterday’s foods. I have a very boring diet right now, all the same foods over and over. I guess I’m a creature of habit. Calories were 1,310. Nathan didn’t feel like a walk this morning but we have the afternoon at the Y planned so I’ll get a good session in then. I had a great walk yesterday, 2.5 miles and lots of running. Finding it easier to control my cravings, and that feels good.

Nothing wrong with rotating the same few meals over and over again as long as you get all your nutrients in! Also: good to hear that your son gets to choose whether or not he wants to walk: that´ll very likely keep him more motivated. Have fun at the gym!

Exercise helps me to control cravings too. Too much exercise has me wanting to eat anything & everything in sight. Enjoy your afternoon at the Y.

Hi everyone! Had a busy couple days, but good days, lots of no extra snacks and exercise. Unfortunately this morning my scale is stuck at 218, yup, back up too. I’m worried my magnesium isn’t doing the job, and with all the kale well .... I think I may have got the wrong kind. I saw somewhere magnesium oxide is only 4% absorbable. Now I guess I need to get another kind.

The bikini gets delivered today and not a moment too soon. Somehow I lost the bottoms to my current bathing suit. I have a backup suit that my sister gave me but it’s um....low cut and looks ridiculous. I wouldn’t wear it unless my face was covered. :rotflmao:

Yesterday I got to walk with both my boys, a rare treat for me, and this morning I’m trying to convince Ryan to go for a run/walk with me. Fingers crossed!

Exactly LaMa — I rotate because I’ve got all the nutrients and lack imagination and sometimes the budget for frequent more diverse offerings. And damn, I like the food — currently having a love affair with ginger.

Ginger is a basic in our household, along with onions & garlic.
Hmm- bathing suit with no bottom or bathing suit that's very low cut. Can you combine the two? :D I have a swim dress with its own leg ins & still I'm self-conscious. Well, actually I just don't go swimming when I would love to :blush5: Good for you, Pam xo

Haha I hear you. I located an old bathing suit that needed mending and fixed it up. Had a great visit to the Y, I visited just to swim and soak in the hot tub. It was marvelous.

The bikini came. It is hideously perfect:

I skipped the side shot. These will do. As unattractively revealing as those bottoms are, they’re perfect.

Thank you Rob and Shell!

My oldest son Ryan and I got a tour of the free weights room. Wow, they play the hardest rock in that room! Loud too! I loved it.

I am ready to start the program mostly, with some modifications here and there. Turns out my squat is fine, it just feels weird to me. Ryan and I are going back to the Y today for a proper workout because we mostly just stood around and yakked with the trainer yesterday.

I tried running yesterday and I’m discouraged. Running for a full minute is almost impossible. I’ve done it, but it’s a stretch. Longest minute of my life. It’s like a 5 minute minute! And it doesn’t seem to be getting easier.

Afterwards Ryan came for dinner. We had chicken, broccoli, and RICE. First time I’ve had rice in two months with the keto diet. It was delicious.

Saw your post on my diary, I would not suggest giving up your keto diet just because something else works for me, or somebody else. The best diet is the one that's healthy and you can stay on. Years ago I tried a low carb diet, and it worked for me, for a while anyway. You will find your way.

Funny how something like your rice can taste so good after months of deprivation. I know that feeling.

Keep the good work, and don't let your running experience get you down. My feet and knees won't let me even think about running, so you are better off than me!

:rotflmao: The bodybuilder life!
I suggest if you´re trying to get into running you don´t start with something that´s super hard for you. Maybe run for half a minute, walk for two, repeat five times? And remember to start out slowly.

Sadly, I don’t think the keto diet will be sustainable. I think I’m headed towards a paleo type diet instead, with lots of healthy fats and fruits and veggies. I need to do more research and I won’t be making any big changes yet. But my short term goal will be to replace the peanut butter snack with fruit. That is the type of change that would satisfy me long term. Onward and upward!
