Darcy's Diary

I'm hoping it will get easier too!!

You got you're walk in and when you feel good about exercising it makes it easier to say no to the bad foods.

Keep on walking, chickie!
Left. Left. Left, right, left.
Left. Left. Left, right, left.
:D

So far, so good today. I had a bowl of Cheerios, skim milk, and 6 oz. of orange juice for breakfast. I have some errands to run at lunch, so maybe I'll stop by Subway on the way back to the office. I did some walking last night and plan to again tonight - probably about 2 miles. Thankfully my mood is alot better today than yesterday. I'm trying very hard to be faithful to weighing and measuring my food so that I can keep portion size under control.

Thanks, everyone, for all of the encouraging words!

You're doing good, dgillygal...don't beat yourself up too much about the ice cream. The important thing is that you are back on track this morning and you've made some major healthy choices. How about if you try keeping something like yogurt on hand for when you need that sweet tasting, creamy texture fix? Just find alternatives to the foods you used to eat and you will be fine. Hugs to you!!!!

Dgillygal I understand the measuring your food. I do most of the time and I do it so I have an understanding of what a cup looks like on my plate. I too need to control portion. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better today.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Hey there sweetie,

It's okay to fall of the wagon with the sugar especially over the holidays. I am a slave to desserts and ice cream /em moans outloud :p Please try not to be so hard on yourself either, that can only make you and your body feel worst. HUGS it's good to see you back on track with your walking.:)

Glad to hear you're feeling better - and falling off the wagon is only a problem if you never get back on - and you're NOT going to do that :)

Besides, I don't consider some ice cream falling too far over board, but Mrs B is right, too much and it sets up the whole craving cycle!

You're doing great moving beyond that! Keep it up and drink your water!

Also, exercise reduces your appetite, because it increases your body temperature ;)

OK, I didn't do too badly this weekend. But I was still scared to step on the scale this morning. I tend to always think I've gained weight between weigh-ins, even if I haven't. Good news!! I've lost 4.5 pounds since weighing 2 weeks ago right before vacation! Time to change the ticker again! :D

I have been challenged to lose 10 pounds by August 10th. That should keep me on track! And I am going to start writing down my Weight Watcher points each day because I really need to be more faithful about weighing and measuring my food. My portion sizes were getting way out of line! So today starts my concentrated effort to really eat better, exercise, and get healthy.

Has anyone seen those stories on the Discovery Channel (I think) about the women and men who weigh 600 pounds or more and how they try to lose the weight and the problems they encounter along the way? At first I was offended that they were put on public display like that. But the more I watch, the greater my admiration for those folks. They suffer and hurt so much but yet are so determined to see it through. If they can have the courage to go through what they have to to lose weight, then I can certainly tackle what I have to. My prayers are with those on the program and with all people who are trying to lead healthier lives, no matter where they are on their journey.

Everyone have a great week!

YAY for the ticker change... :)

Writing down stuff has made a huge difference with me... A lot of times I won't have something because it means I will have to write it down and it jsut makes me more aware... :)

You're doing fantastical... :)

Yeah!!

Congrats Darcy!

It is great to see that "Ticker" change!:D

You are doing so good!! Keep up the good work!!

I saw a program once and they had a lady who could not get out of bed, but she used to do aerobics in her bed! It is like you said, you can't help but respect these people who have got a huge job ahead of them, but still persevere.

Great going on the 4.5 lbs!! Keep up the fab work ;)

Hi D

At the rate your going you are going to surpass me in no time! Congratulations on your 4.5lbs!!!

Rumor has it that you are a Spare Tire Deflator :) Welcome aboard! :)
