Consistency. It's not a pizza topping.

make sure you don't rely too much on straps. I don't know what your goals are exactly, but having grip strenght is always a good idea!

That's the idea, yeah. I used to be all biased against them, but on my last/heavy set of dumbbell squats, and my stiff DL's, they really help me maintain my form, and grind through without having to put anything down (which inevitably leads to cheating via resting, and then not knowing whether to count the putting down and picking back up as a rep, etc).

I was using them constantly the last couple sessions, for practice. That was a lot of the increase in session length. Takes a while to get them in place. But I've got it down fairly well, now. Just a quick few spins, so it isn't too tight. That way it's not helping me too much, only enough to squeak through.

Thanks for the warning, though. I definitely agree that it's not a good idea to rely on accessories. And for reference, my goal is to become The Übermensch. :D Maybe get into martial arts once I lean down. Been wanting to try muay thai for ages, and I just happen to live 2 blocks away from one of Mike Miles' gyms here in Calgary.

yeah, the general rule is to use them where you need them. I wouldn't use it for rows and such. If you have grip problems with rows, your grip is probably pretty weak and will need some work.
I'm thinking about starting to use straps for snatch pulls, since you hold so wide it downright hurts my hands (specially since I use the hook grip where my thumb gets squished.)

I definitely recommend it. Temporarily, of course. If possible.

Didn't get a chance to do any cardio today. I'm a little miffed about it, but what can you do. I had a lot of stuff to get done... but I did get it done. So still a pretty good day.

Here's the link for , which contains current photos. Not gonna bother with the ones from two weeks ago for comparison (mostly because they were taken under completely different conditions), but there is improvement. I will be taking them every two weeks for the duration of the contest, and on up to at least the end of June (At which point I intend to be nearing 160 lbs, or a comparable body fat percentage at a higher weight, hopefully).

As you can see, I've got some scars and a long ways to go, but I'm just getting started. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

Oh, and I finally cracked open my copy of TNT, and am now thoroughly wanting to try keto. I'll take the first excuse. But not until what I'm doing stops working. :(

With every page I turn in TNT Diet, I am more and more convinced that keto is exactly what I need to be doing right now.

Eating any kind of meat, cheese and vegetables all day... Thing is, I dunno if it's just my mind messing with me because it wants to be in dietary heaven, or if it's the evidence that's compelling.

Weighed in at 209.2 today and found myself thinking, "I hope my weight stays steady for two weeks so I have a reason to switch to keto." Haha. That is a stupid thing to be thinking. -_-

I'm fairly certain, though, that it's just waste weight. I dunno why, but as I mentioned earlier (and sorry if this is TMI), I'm only making dookie about every third day. It's very strange for me, as doing #2 used to be part of my morning ritual. As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with my digestion, or my fiber intake (I'm at well over 50g a day), it just seems like my body doesn't consider it necessary to do it every day anymore. This coupled with what seems to be a decreased need for sleep and actual physical craving for exercise is making for strange days.

Oh, also, earlier, I did this crazy spidey sense thing when I caught a stapler that was falling directly behind me. The receptionist wouldn't shut up about it. I gotta admit, it was pretty bad ass. It wasn't just that I didn't even look, or have much of a reason to even know it was falling, it was the speed with which I snatched it out of the air. Like a cobra. She said it had fallen barely half a foot before I caught it. I joked that I'll be sure to check the apartment for radioactive spiders when I get home. :D

what about those books is making you want to do keto?

It probably is a good policy though, "if it aint broke, don't fix it", but you could be losing even more on keto... so it's up to you!

Oh, just the way Volek describes it, like it's the greatest ****ing thing. Eat everything you enjoy and lose 8 bajillion lbs in a week! Also, I saw jp's results in an older thread, and I've seen countless others, including yourself, do great with (and enjoy) keto.

And the science behind it is fairly strong. Nutrient partitioning and whatnot.

I know I need to put on 30'ish lbs of muscle at some point. I consider myself a skinny fat person. Not in the sense that my weight is relatively low and my body fat percentage high, but rather because underneath the 60 lbs or so (I reckon) of extra fat I'm carrying, I'm just a little guy with not a lot of muscle, I think. Supposedly keto is able to offer phenomenal muscle gain and fat loss at the same time, especially during the beginner "grace period", so if I were to go on it, now would be the perfect time.

Except I just spent a couple grand on 6 month supplies of stuff I wouldn't be allowed to have on a keto diet.

Can I ask what? That'd be a lot of pasta and cereal... hah.

I like to shop. As will become obvious momentarily. :D

In the last two weeks I have purchased:

48 boxes Myoplex Deluxe Bars (576 bars)
10 containers (160 servings) Biotest Surge Recovery
2 containers (32 servings) Biotest Metabolic Drive
6 bottles Biotest ZMA
6 bottles Genuine Health Abs+
6 bottles Nutrasea 750:500 lemon-flavored fish oil, encapsulated
12 bottles Nutrasea 750:500 lemon-flavored fish oil
2 bottles Natural Factors Beta Care-All
12 bottles Nature's Way Chlorofresh
1 bottle Health First Vitamin D Supreme
2 500g containers micronized creatine
3 huge containers of metamucil coarse original (unflavored - just the psyllium)

And some other stuff I didn't like and threw away. All of which I'd still be taking on a modified keto diet, except for the Myoplex MRP bars. But, that's all I was including, really, in my "couple g". $1500 worth of myoplex, haha. EAS ought to pay me to be their spokesperson once I'm done.

Wow, looking at that, I sure like my supplements. But they're doing tons for me. I feel great! :D

Edit: And honestly, the myoplex thing isn't that big of a deterrent. I can always use it up later. They're really handy for the summers, because there will often be periods where I will just have no time to eat.

I just got notification that my guitar was delivered.

For the record, musiciansfriend.com is the ****. That is the fastest I have ever received an order from the states. The shipping was crazy expensive, though. Once again, Axe Music is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen. How hard is it to process and deliver an order that originated from THE SAME MAJOR CITY YOU ARE IN. Or, at the very least, not ignore your customers' correspondence. I hope they have an electrical fire and the whole block burns down. Yeah, that's right, not just the guilty parties, the entire damn area. Some Old Testament ****.

Yeah, this post is completely off topic. Deal with it. :D

Edit: Props to Sara for the recommendation, btw, before she shows up looking to hurt me. ;)

You should take a picture of all of that stuff...... I would love to see it! That must take up a lot of room! hah.

Sure, I'll show you guys a pic of some of my "nuclear holocaust supplies" sometime. :D

Edit: *************** !!!! ---- ||||| TMI Incoming ||||| ---- !!!!! ***************

So anyway, I am the hugest dork alive, here's why: I finally go #2, right, and I'm all, Booyah! Scale's gon' be goood tomorra. Yea, boi. And that's pretty bad already, but then comes, I reckon that's about 1.2, maybe 1.4 lbs right there...

... There is something very wrong with me. Hahahahaha.

And I don't think I'm going to have enough room in the fridge for all these beans and grains, or this massive pot of tomato soup.

120 mins stationary cycling, 38.5 miles, 1653 calories

Turns out I made a little math mistake that ruined all that soup. Ah, well. Never really liked the stuff, anyway.

I'm up too late again. And I bet I'll be waking up extra early. Cursed... energy. :p

dang man, you have a lot of suppliment! Here's an idea, ditch the ones that are excessive and mail me the money you save!
