Thanks FF. :D

211.2 this morning. Seem to be right on track, assuming I haven't lost any water weight, gained any muscle or messed up any of 5'ish calculations. (Obviously, neither of the first 2 are likely to be true, haha. I hate you so much, scale). 2.4lbs for the week, with the goal being 2.4. But at least the numbers are moving, this pleases me. I feel much lighter and way less sluggish than I did last week, so that's a good sign.

I'm thinkin' I should maybe get my beginner's running schedule going soon. But it's so cold out, damnit. I'll need to find me some leggings and a toque and whatnot. I guess I'll do some more cycling for the moment. Also, in a month or two , once I'm a little more adjusted to the weight, I think I'll start doing some pilates or some yoga or such on one or two off days. Or maybe get that magnificent mobility DVD and a foam roller. Definitely need something. Right now I'm about as flexible as a dead tree.

I'm having some urges. Like, I'm playing some basic scales, y'know, unwinding a little now that I'm home, and I have this sudden, powerful desire to do some weight training. But that would be crazy because I just did, yesterday. I gotta wait till tomorrow at least. Maybe Tuesday.

But yeah. My body seems to want to go a little harder. Maybe if I up the intensity on my cardio a bit? I've been holding back because I'm still following my "avoid burnout like the plague" policy. Is my mind playing tricks on me? Ahhhh.

I think I'll let it run a bit and see how I feel. Can't hurt to bump it up to 70%'ish for maybe 45 mins and then drop down to my "regular" 50%, can it?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid problem to be having, but it is. A problem, I mean. I have issues with intensity. XD

Sunday January 20th 2008

I'm totally in love with random meal creation. I threw together some blackeye peas, quinoa, spinach, a bit of shaved almond, potassium salt, cayenne pepper, nutra sea (a lemon-flavored fish oil) and dill. 1 cup each of the peas and quinoa, everything else to taste. Tossed it a bit. It was really quite tasty, and most satisfying.

The cardio went fine. I let myself go just a little, but then hopped off the bike once I'd hit 25 miles. This ended up being about 25 minutes earlier than I would have at my other pace, but I don't feel I worked very hard at all, let alone excessively. Just got my sweat on a little. 874 calories for 80 minutes at a moderate pace? That does seem too high. But, the math's good. It's just the formulas I have available. They all seem to agree. Doesn't feel anything like 874 calories worth of effort, though. I know back when I was in my heavy weight loss phase around 16 I would burn 800 calories in an hour on the elliptical, and that felt like 800 calories.

Anyway, I guess all is well. Forgot to take my creatine earlier, but I caught myself just now.

Persons who have seen my previous posts, know I preach that: "That the truest form of wisdom is learning how to master yourself". If you learn how to master yourself in the road to your goal, you will never fall off and stub your mental focus; therefore, this is the hocus-pocus for [Focus]! :)

And, on the road to your goal or when you reach your goal:

Sure ENOUGH, we want [Focus] in the BUFF to show his real STUFF without all the FLUFF because we all know he is TOUGH and no cream PUFF! :)

Learn to master yourself and you will in deed be the king of your goal road. Pot holes will not stop you because you have the asphalt to fill it. Cracks will not soften you because you have the external material to fill it. You will never steer yourself off road, because you have the four wheel drive to keep you alive to thrive and you will always survive!

Best wishes to you young man! :)

Will do, Chillen. Will do. :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

Last night when I first read that I thought you were saying you wanted to see me naked. So, uh, yeah. That's about all I have to say aboot that. :D

This live chlorophyll stuff, seriously, just the thought of its taste is enough to ruin my day. Next time I'm getting the minty stuff or some spirulina tablets or something. It's just... it tastes like the distilled essence of rotting gleet. Maybe worse, I wouldn't actually know. Yes, I am going to whine about this every day until it runs out. Should be a month or so.

In other news, weighed in at 211.2 again this morning. But, and I'm sorry if this is TMI, I haven't shot a deuce since Saturday afternoon. So, I'm sure I'm holding some weight. Also a little perplexed, because I've been getting a good 25-50g fibre per day (some of it supplemented), so uhm, why no dookie. Is mystery.

Also, DietPower does strange things. Like, when my calorie bank balance starts to shoot up but my weight doesn't decrease accordingly, it starts taking big chunks out of my calorie budget. Not very bright if you ask me. "Hey this person isn't eating enough, let's recommend they eat less!" I understand the reasoning, to an extent, but I don't think it should be making these modifications until it has more to work with, like in the case of its projection numbers for average intake and weight and such.

60 mins, stationary cycling, 704 calories, ~18 miles

'Bout to eat my 2nd high fibre meal of the day. I want to drop bombs... 3 times a day. Like the guy in the youtube video said. :bncry:

Might hop on the bike again later. I actually find it quite... I don't know, soothing. Can't wait to hit the weights tomorrow. Gonna try out some of the stuff I learned about bench and military press form. Should see some pretty big improvement.

Wish I had my straps, but won't likely till Thursday's workout. Hopefully, by then. Apparently TD has been messing with some of the orders I charged to my Visa recently. This angers me. I pay off every charge as I make it, what the **** is suspicious about that? The day a bank actually follows my instructions re: what I would NOT like done for 'my own safety', I will **** in my pants. Fascists, everywhere.

It appears I maybe just messed up the data entry. This is me, looking like a sanctimonious douche. :D

Everyone but me, Sara. T_T

I heard girls don't fart, though.

Edit: Wait, what. Am I supposed to read this book? Guess I'd better make a stop at Chapters on the way home.

Edit: Then I checked it out and felt like an idiot. Curses.

I don't understand who the author of that book was trying to help. I mean, I don't personally have any kids, but I've been a nanny, and as far as I can tell, kids don't need to be told that it's ok to poop.

I think it's meant more as entertainment for 3-5 year olds. But I only glanced at it very briefly.

210.0 this morning. Almost exactly on target, still. But uhh, hardly any dookie, so where did that massive quantity of beans, grains and salsa go? Damn. This **** doesn't make any sense.

Overslept a little today.

Apparently I am the only one who is failing to understand the funnies. I will now go spill the tears of my unfathomable shame all over some iron. Hopefully they'll wash off the blood from last week. :D

Thoughts:

Me likey straps. Me likey much. Uhm, other than that, just a good, solid session. The numbers are nice. Other than my bench, which doesn't seem to want to improve. Felt like the form changes actually made it considerably harder. Time's way too high, but I was figuring stuff out, so it'll be much better next run. Rounded my shoulders some on the deadlift. Gotta watch that. I think it'll go away once my core's had a couple weeks to get used to not being a bum. But uh, yeah, that's about it.

Well, other than, WOOT! :D

Do you always do two sets? Have you considered using the more traditional 3 - 5 sets?

Just part of my "takin' it easy to start" policy. (Last time I began with just the two -- the one, really, the first set is only a warmup in most cases -- and was up to 4 fairly quickly. I was following HGM at the time). I figure it's not a good idea for me to be starting at a gallop like I have in the past. I tend to go super strict for a couple months and then burn out. Also, I've been very sedentary for most of a year. Over the course of a month or two I will most likely work up to 3-4 work sets, although much of what I have read indicates that a rank beginner like myself shouldn't be doing more than a certain # of total sets per body part.

In short, yes, but I've decided against it for the moment. I get a pretty good workout from what I'm doing. In the past I would work so hard that I would actually collapse for a long time and/or throw up after weight training. I'm trying to avoid that approach until the habit is ingrained.
