RE: My hissy fit about not getting a car park last night..........

I'm all set to go next Tuesday night (there are a couple more between now and then but that night there are some people who have just finished the program who are going to "share the wisdon" So I think I'll wait for that one.)

I really am so very excited to have stumbled across this forum - I feel so much better about embarking on this horrific journey knowing there are other people out there doing exactly the same!

I live in Melbourne and have an 8 month old bubba and a very skinny husband who eats what he wants, when he wants. (Heart attack will teach him one day, I'm sure!)

Just thought I'd try out a ticker. This is me publicly (sort of) acknowledging my epic weight gain.

;)
Good morning lady's,
I had my first weigh in yesturday and cheryl from narrabri said I look a lot better.
Starting weight: 143kg
Week 4 weight: 128kg

wooo hooo I have lost 15kg in 4 weeks.

I too am very frightened about christmas. we are going away and 2 days out of the 10 we will not have cooking facilities.
I do not want to go off the program because I will find it very hard to get back to.

I need help on what I should do?

and I love ham on toast for chrissy breakfast.

Can anyone help me.

I too fell guilty for having 1gram more that I should .

welcome to the newbies

15kgs in 4 weeks - WOW Moni, that is fantastic! You must be so happy!

I too would love to know what people are going to do over the Christmas New Year period. All I can think about is looking good in Feb when I go to Noosa. All advice would be greatly appreciated. I normally gorge myself into oblivion at this time of the year!

Hi to everyone,Moni that is remarkable weightloss hooray for you keep going and before you know it you'll be done. Becky good to see you have finished refeed I think it will probably take some time to see how your body adjusts to different stuff as you've only been eating small amounts for so long I guess its all trial and error but keeping a close eye and maybe a diary of intake might be the deal for now. Minxy you'll have to let us know the inspiring stories you hear from the cohens introduction you go to, a little tip try drinking a couple of litres of water a day to prepare yourself if you do join cos I know it took me a while to get that down pat but knowing you are losing weight by drinking the water is a bonus. Hope everyone is having a good day. Talk soon :)

hi Everyone Welcome To The Newbies! Just A Quick Post I Dont Know About Anyone Else But My Mayonaise Allowance Is One Level Teaspoon. Also Checkout The New Idea For A Inspirational Story On A Cohens Dieter Who Shed 70kg So Proof It Can Be Done. It Can Be A Tough Road Ahead But I Gets Easier. Cya

HI Could you please tell me what issue of NI that story was in please

Hi Everyone,
6 weeks since starting Cohens today.
Starting weight 73kg - today 65.5 =7.5kg
Centimetres lost - 36.8. Most of that was from my hips. I would prefer to see some shifting off my arms!
My weight loss continues to plod along and I don't believe I will ever see a 'dramatic' loss but at least I am losing. This has been the only diet I have been able to stick to and more importantly - enjoy.

Moni - fantastic result - you must be thrilled. Well done!

To the girls about to start. I did similiar to what has been suggested in that even before I started the diet, I started drinking lots of water, cut out sweets, caffeine, bread etc. It made the transition much easier I did not have any withdrawl symptoms when I started except for a headache the 2nd day (did not need painkillers so it wasnt that bad)

RJM - I think you are very wise to view your first day as you have. A little reminder that we cannot eat the way we did before is far better learnt at this stage than down the track when your confidence about eating has heightened. I think thats the key to 'keeping it off' :) Have you found the refeed daunting? ie:having pasta again all of a sudden? enjoy your holiday!!

Hope everyone is well.

Michelle

Thanks Every one for the support after my crisis, on Tuesday. well i went i have paid had the blood test and can not wait to start. I have an appointment next Wednesday when the lady at the clinic will go over my plan and then I plan to start on the 1/12. :) Very happy with my self and cannot wait !!!

Oh one Question (As from next week there will be more so be prepared girls :)) regarding the vitamins and minerals that have to be taken, what do you do, I know that you can purchase them from the clinic, is there a suppermarket / health food brand thats just as good ? and hey maybe a little cheaper so that i can save my $$$$$$ for when I go to normal shops HA HA :)

Me again, thanks Kaseysmum for telling us about the New Idea, going to go buy it for insperation and a treat for joining :)

Hi Everyone,
Great to see so many newbies, WELCOME, and congratulations on taking the first step by doing something for yourself. You will be so pleased you did. I have really missed talking to everyone but have been so busy haven’t even had time to scratch myself.
DANPOLL: great to see you on the forum
MISSY-MUM: You sound like you are doing great, make sure you take care of yourself because I know you have so much happening at the moment. Everyone on her has their thought with you, I can assure you of that.
MONI: How are you going, you must have lost quite a bit by now, isn’t it just a great feeling.
HEALTHYMUM: You must find it much easier now running around with your children, it is only going to get better and you will be out running them soon. I am now going into my 8th week and have lost 17.3kgs.
IMR: YOU DESERVE A PAT ON THE BACK, FANTASTIC, YOU HAVE DONE GREAT. I’ve still got 13kgs to loose so I am not going shopping yet, but I can tell you I just can’t wait……I know you have said somewhere how much you have lost but if you wouldn’t mind telling me again that would be great. The how did you find the refeeding, and are you down to what you want to be.
DIVINEMISSNAT: People are funny, I told my cousin I was going on the diet and the first question, HOW MUCH. Any way speak to her about every week or so and she has never even asked how I’m going, Last week she ask after 7weeks and 16kgs later. I had enormous pleasure saying, I’ve lost 16 KGS now. She said she would have to come over and see me and I told her not to bother that we would catch up a Xmas time. People are jealous, there is absolutely no doubt about it. Did you join yet?
MYSHY: I just can’t wait to get into the 60’s congratulations.
CASEY: I just couldn’t believe what I was reading. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THEM, you think they would give you support. Any way now is the time for you not years ago as they suggested. That’s why we are all on it because we are ready to do something. If you heart isn’t in it there isn’t a diet on this earth that will work. We all have each other to back up. How are you going on it?
MINXY: Have you gone to the seminar as yet. Would love to hear what you think, we can all enlighten you on any questions, that’s for sure.
SAMMY: that is just an excellent weight loss, 10kgs makes a huge difference doesn’t it.
Well everyone, it was so good to read through everything, and I can’t remember who said about the crutch of their jeans hanging down, that is just so uncomfortable isn’t it. I can actually pull my old jeans up and down without undoing the zip, had a giggle, and thought wow, look how fat I was. Also about Xmas, I haven’t broken and won’t but on Xmas day I am going to have dinner and a couple of glasses of wine and then RIGHT BACK ON IT. Well I say I will but knowing me I probably won’t but if I do, I am not going to be angry with myself…..
HAPPY DIETING EVERYONG AND LOOK FORWARD TO SPEAKING TO YOU ALL SOON. JOY

Hi Everyone!

Firstly, congratulations to Myshy,Moni and Joysey on your weightloss so far!:)
You must all be feeling very chuffed! Its so inspiring to hear your successes!

RJM its so great that you continue to share your experinces now that you are off re-feed. It helps so much to know what to expect.

Joysey, you asked if I had joined yet. I had already joined and had my blood test the day I started posting on the forum. I've just been waiting, waiting, waiting for my plan to come through. AND TODAY I GOT THE CALL.... My plan has arrived!!! So I'm picking it up tomorrow and I plan to start on Saturday. I thought it might be easier to start on a day I didnt have to work, especially if i might get headaches etc.
And already, my best friend has invited me to dinner on Saturday night :( Typical!

Minxy- I cant wait to hear what how that meeting goes next Tuesday! Are you going to the meeting at the Melbourne clinic on Commercial Road? I had TERRIBLE time getting parking there too...Especially at that time of day. Make sure you leave plenty of time :) Good luck- cant wait to hear what you think.

Hugs to all
Nat

Hi everyone. It's great to see so many posts - I can't believe how many new posts there are from when I last looked a couple of days ago. People who aren't on Cohens just don't understand, so it's wonderful to have this support group.

Well, today was my second day on the refeed. I had my first piece of bread today, but I think I've had an allergic reaction to it! I had it for lunch with my cheese and salad, but about later in the afternoon, my face felt very bumpy! When I got home from work, I looked in the mirror and I've broken out in a huge rash all over my face!!! Not a good look - believe me!!! It may not be the bread, but it seems a bit strange that it happened within a couple of hours of my eating bread for the first time in 5 months. I'm going to skip the bread tomorrow, but then try it again on Saturday and see what happens (providing the rash has gone by then). Other than that, the refeed is going well. I put on 200gm this morning, so it will be interesting (and a little scary) to see what the scales do each day.

rjm, it's probably a good thing that you had that scare on your first day, because it will definitely keep you on track from now on in. Have a fantastic time at the Gold Coast. After doing this for 5 months, you deserve it!!!

Joysey, I've lost 29kg - 4.5kg in the two weeks before I actually started the diet when I cut out most carbs, milk, alcohol etc in preparation for it, and 24.5kg from when I officially started the diet on 11th July. I'm not really sure how much more weight I want to lose. I actually feel smaller than I weigh (sounds bizarre, I know) but I think I'll just play by ear after the refeed when I start exercising and just see how I feel. I'm thinking maybe another 4-6kg. You are doing wonderfully well. Over 17kg in 8 weeks is fantastic! You must feel like a new person.

It sounds like you are all doing really well. Keep the support going.

Speak to you soon. :D

Casey.
I use centrum which is a multi vitamin that has chromium in it to help kerb cravings. It costs about $17 - $19.00 from the supermarket for 100 tablets. Its one tablet per day. I find these really good as I am a junk food addict and haven't really been fussed since I started taking them.

I broke just about all day today. Woke up not feeling 100% and have ended up with a tin of soup for dinner. I know I will pay for it tommorow, but I guess I'll just try to refocus. My water content was way down. I usually drink 3 litres+ a day, but today I havent even got through one.

Its great to see so many posts - Its a real delight to read through them all.

Myshy

Hi Everyone,
IMR: That is great, you have done excellent too. Hope your rash clears up it is probably because you haven't had any flour for so many months that you body has just soaked it up, I'm sure it will go away. Make sure you tell us how its going daily. It will be so interesting.
MYSHY: You'll be o.k. remember we are only human and you can do it. Just wondering how long you have been on the diet and how much you have lost. I just love to hear how people are going.
DEVINMISSNAT: These thing always happen just when you are ready to start. Why don't you enjoy you evening on Saturday night and start on Sunday because once you start you won't want to break it.
Have a good day everyone and speak to you all soon, JOY

HI Everyone
DEVINMESSNAT: Good luck for Saturday, The wait for you is over, I have a few days yet before mie comes through As Joysey has suggested it may be best if you can start Sunday and go out and enjoy Saturday night.
KASEYSMUM and MYSHY : Ta very much for the vitamin Tips will go and see what one i can get my hands on.
JOYSEY: Hopefully I will be starting next Thursday :)
I have started drinking my water, and having black coffee.

Mixy and Moni

Email me at kimpietrini@bigpond.com and I will help you get you ticker working.

Moni - My mum is using cheryl from narrabri as well, where are you from?
Cngratulations to Myshy,Moni and Joysey on your weightloss.

I am feeling really bad cause I am wasting my time but Monday it all starts over again. I am going to sydney for the weekend so I thought, start fresh on monday.

My goal is be at 90kgs by Boxing day with DH (dear husbands) family. I need to refocus and get my mind back into gear that I can do it, I will do it and by the school reunion I will be a slimmer me.

Nat, best of luck with starting it. You will think the meal sizes are small but funny enough, you are not hungry. As the consultant from Narrabri says (Cheryl) for people with alot of weight to lose, try and drink at least 4 litres!

I am near the computer most days so if you need to talk nat, please email.

All the best people.
Kim

Thanks healthymum - I've emailed you!

I'm already on to my second litre of water for the day. It's great that everyone has been giving me pointers before I even start this thing!

Had black coffee before aswell, EEEWWWWWW I'm the queen of dairy normally, that will be interesting!

xx
