Morning Girls

Morning Girls

I had the day off yesterday, I was naughty & ate a small bit of chocolate in the morning- I was angry at myself afterwards Argh! I dont know what possessed me to do this.

After my weight going down to 96.5 the other day it sky rocketed back up to 97 yesterday morning for no reason & I felt really annoyed & had the shits, so for a split second I thought 'F***-it" and ate the bit of chocolate.

Moving on though, I somehow managed to drop 1.3kg overnight which brings me to 95.7 - WHAMM BAM! So I'm all smiles this morning. I've got to go have my 16wk blood test today, or I might end up having it on Monday next week.

The weightloss I've had so far is really starting to show BIG TIME now, I've had a week full of compliments from various people at my work who don't even know I'm on the program - and each time I get a comment I respond with saying how much I've lost & how much more I have to lose - everyone so far as been blown away - so its no longer a secret at my work, I now want EVERY tom, dick & harry to know LOL.

Anyhows, Im off now - believe it or not I have to go buy not 1 but 2 cakes from the CheeseCake Shop for our monthly 'birthday morning tea' at work - and the challenge today will be to resist & say no thanks to a slice of it when its offered to me. Instead I have prepared a backup plan & also ordered 2 large fruit platters - I have my fingers crossed that there will be some apple/orange or honeydew melon on the platter.

ps. Im outta town tonight & off to visit the parents for the weekend at Mudgee - where I have 3 family birthdays to celebrate - Mum, My sister & my older brother - I know dad has organised to take the family out to a restaurant - I hope there's something I can have on the menu!

Bye for now, wooohoo its Friday!!! - best day of the week.

Hugs to all
Mel

I have done it.....

HI to all,

just a quik post today to let you all know that my scales now tell me I weigh 99.2kg'sI am so happy........

well done every one you are very supportive and understanding.......
Thanks to everyone for all your help.

Have alot to go but I can do it....

Kepp up the water guy's.........

I Can I Will, after drinking all of that water, were you in and out of the meeting for bathroom breaks? :O I wouldn't have been able to sit still after drinking that much water lol

the old me, I have also wondered about that because I am the biggest chocoholic. I do want to keep on the path with all of the healthy food but I don't want to have a bit of chocolate here and there and balloon up :(

Mel, I know what you mean with the morning tea. My work is always having things like that and they often to lunch runs to get Maccas or pizza or something full of fat and grease. Just yesterday I was offered a slice of fudge ! I don't think some people realise how difficult it is being on a diet and then to have someone offer you food like that.

Moni, congrats on the double digits ! You must be very proud of yourself. I can't wait till I hit them !!

Hope you guys have a great weekend and happy birthday for the other day Cryss !

Hi again,

Yes Fiorella, in theory you can do that, but keep in mind that I have not been able to get myself back on the program after going off, and when I was on the program I was super strict. For the 4 months it took me to lose 35kg, I did not break the diet once, not even an extra piece of chewing gum!!
I live in Sydney, and went to the clinic in Dee Why.
I almost forgot, when you order the re-feed early. you void the rest of the contract, and supposedly don't get any more support from the clinic. My clinic is, however, different to most, and they still call me every now and again to see how I'm going.
To the person who asked about "life After". You can eat anything you want. They say not to have carbs for breakfast, and only have carbs with 1 meal per day, and only have chocolate twice a week, and a few other basic guidelines, but you eat whatever you want and it is great!!
Have a great day everyone.
Talk to you soon.
Beck

rjm,

thanks for your reply :) my clinic isn't all that great with support anyhow! yours sounds fantastic (I have family in Dee Why!)

I was very strict in the beginning and now the last 2 weeks I've really gone off the rails. Not in a huge way, like I still eat food according to the plan, but I've found I'm mixing proteins when I go out and not measuring. Plus I go out way too much to keep a track of things. It's my birthday on March 8th and I really wanted to be down to 102kg or so :(

Any tips on how to really get back into it or to kickstart the weight loss again?

Hi all - have just started Cohen's today after easing into it a bit over the past few days - ie: cut out the alcohol, carbs etc in preparation.

Great to hear so many of us are going through the same things as each other. Makes me feel a little less alone...

Any tips on getting the ticker working? I have created one but don't know how to attach it to my messages...

Anyone else based in Tassie?

Good luck, all.

Crossed Legs!!

Hey guys,

I'm actually REALLY nervous about getting my program this afternoon.......so I logged on to be with some supportive friends, it has worked a treat!!

Kim_j01 - Yep, the bathroom took a hammering!! Had my legs firmly crossed for as long as I could though!!!!!!

divinemissnat - Hi-5 to you!! Well done - Brilliant!! :)

moni - Hi-5 to you too!!!! 99.2 -that's just fantastic!! :)

Hi moneypenny!

You'll need to go to "Edit Signature" & paste it into there. XX

Hi all you skinny minnies ;)

Mel - I know exactly how you feel babe, I was sooooo excited the other day when I weighed myself at 74.1 - only to discover the next day that my weight was back to 75.2 - over a kilo difference - go figure!!! At the same time of day and with empty bladder and NO cheating, and 4 litres of water a day...weird. I was so dissapointed for the rest of the day though! So, I've now decided to only weigh myself once a week, to avoid feeling like crap again. Like everyone always says, you have to look at the whole picture - it's two weeks today since I've been on the program, YAY!! and I have lost 5.58 kilos which is great, and 25.5cm off my whole body!! So, I guess I need to be grateful for that and realise that what I'm trying to achieve isn't going to happen over night!!!

Went and had all of my very long hair cut off today as well, why is it that hairdressers always cut your hair shorter than what you tell them to?!?!! So, have gone from having very long blonde hair to shoulder length blonde hair, but I think having lost those few kilos I am able to pull it off a bit better than I would have before! This is all part of creating the new me!! Very EXCITING!!:D

I can I will - your name says it all - you can and you definitely will!!! Focus on getting through the first couple of days - I promise you this will be one of the easiest diets you've ever done! You will be amazed in a weeks time how not hungry you are between meals and just how much a meal that's less than 200grams can fill you up!! Ditto to you moneypenny

Moni - WHHHHOOOOOO! That's fantastic! Keep it up girl!!!

Nat - 54kgs!!!! That is so amazing - well done!!! Keep us uptodate with how your refeed goes! Like some of the others I want to know if I'll ever be able to eat avocado again??????

Keep up the awesome work guys, and BE STRONG!! You know you'll feel so much better in the long run avoiding temptations!

Have a great weekend ;)

Be excited!

Hi Gals!

FIRSTLY- MONI Congratulations on double digits!!!!
You have come so far and done so well! Be very proud of what you have achieved! :) :)

This is for all those asking about refeed-
DURING refeed you begin increasing quantities and adding different foods as prescribed for you by Dr Cohen. But just like in your original program it is certain foods only.
In mine, bread comes in on day 2, milk and alcohol toward the end.
In your life after Cohens guidelines there is no particular food that you are not allowed. They really are a guideline to help you balance everyday eating and indulgences. They do recommend dark chocolate over milk though. I personally have no problem with this- I love both, so I can make milk chocolate a special treat and stick with dark the rest of the time.

I was going to start refeed Monday, but I have been so very hungry for a while now, I am concerned that if I hang out much longer I may be tempted to cheat. My scales also dropped again this morning, so unless they rise drastically in the morning, I will be starting refeed tomorrow. :)

On the hunger thing, my consultant said me being so hungry was a very good sign that my body was ready for refeed and that refeed would go very well for me. Not sure if that meant I would lose more again on refeed or if it means that my body will reset very well and be quite resistant to weight gain, but it felt very encouraging! :p

Stay strong everyone!
Nat x

Still forging ahead...

Hiya all,

Hope all is going well.

CRYSS - Happy, happy birthday for the other day. I hope you had a wonderful day and enjoyed your night out.

NAT - Thank you heaps for the re-feed info. The process has intrigued me ever since signing up, but it's not something my consultant really wants to delve into detail about, seeing as I'm still a fair way from ordering mine. It's so good to know that we can simply stick to good eating habits but have occasional treats and indulgences and stay on track, once the re-feed has been completed. You've done so well, and you should be super proud of yourself :D

TASH - I only weigh myself weekly. I know a lot of others prefer to hop on the scales more often. I prefer seeing a larger number at the end of the week ( except for last week GRRR! ) . I'm trying to see this experience as a long term thing, and not completely about what my scales say each day. I've almost finished my first month. I told myself if I could stick to the program for 3 months, I could do anything!! And now I've only got 2 months to go! The time flys by just as quickly as the weight seems to melt off!

I CAN I WILL and MONEYPENNY - All the best for starting your program. We're all here for you! ;)

MONI - You are truly an inspiration. I don't think there's a person on this forum who doesn't admire your determination. Well done on reaching double digits. Two thumbs up love :)

MEL - You too are inspiring. I bet you're thinking it's been so worth it now that you're getting compliments left, right and centre?! Let's hope you had the power to say no to those yummy cakes!! On my last shift on night shift some others bought in hedgehog slice and other goodies... I just LURVE hedgehog slice! But I had no real desire to eat any and can safely say not a morsel passed my lips!

Does anyone else get hungry though, watching fast food commercials?!? They've been playing a Hungry Jacks Malibu Whopper ad here to death, and it just looks so damn appetising! The thing is though, I don't even like Hungry Jacks burgers! I have no idea why the ad makes my mouth water. Wot the!?

QUESTION FOR YOU ALL: Does anyone here eat cheese more than the recommended " three times a week " ? Interested to know if it has any effect on weight loss if you eat cheese for one of your meals more than three times a week. Thanks.

Take care all, I'll be posting after my monthly weigh in ( with what better bl**dy be a bigger loss than last week!! ) :p :p

Congratualtions Moni

Pink vergo....

I have just read my program once again and have found that I was not ment to eat cheese any more than once a day..... I have been having it brekky and lunch.... maybe thats why my weight was not moving...... I can't find anywhere that said no more than 3 days a week..... maybe someone eles could help with this.........

I too would love to know!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheeeese...

Hi MONI,

I have cheese options in Meal 1 and Meal 2 ( however have never eaten more than one cheese meal in a day as yet ) .

I did however spot something a few days ago when I was re-skimming over my plan... and it made me wonder if my small weight loss last week had something to do with it.

On the page in my program that lists what proteins, seafoods, etc we can eat, I noticed in brackets in my cheese section that it said " Feta only once a week due to high salt content " AND " Try to limit cheese to only three times per week " . I think maybe my consultant mentioned this, but said basically that it was due to it's 'binding' effect ( bowel wise ) and not necessarily because we shouldn't eat it more than three times a week.

After my slow weight loss last week I thought hard about what I'd been eating, and realised I'd had a cheese meal for lunch for almost the whole week ( no feta though ) ... and thought maybe this had something to do with it once I read the program again.

I will be sure to ask my consultant next week, and I will let you all know my findings.

P.s. I'm staying off cheese this week, to see if it shows at all on my scales.

Amazed!

Hi Gals

Quick post this morning- I am AMAZED at my body! I weighed in this morning at 53.4kg!!! :D I cant tell you how many times I got on the scales to keep checking that I wasnt seeing things... I find it so interesting how my body weight hasnt dropped for what seemed like ages and this week in three days it has dropped a kilo. And I am so glad- I really feel like I've got the green light to be starting refeed! :D Besides that, I was SOOO hungry yesterday, I was even awake in the middle of the night hungry, so I will be glad to up some quantities today.

PinkVirgo-- I looked through my program and I cant find anything that says cheese three times a week only- maybe this is particular to your program? In which case I'd stick to it... I mostly ate it for lunch on my days off, so I was probably only having it 2-3 days a week anyway. The other days I had tuna with salad, which was a bit more filling as I get greater quantity of fish. If I remember rightly, there was some talk a while back, a few of the girls on the forum felt their weight dropped better when they ate fish? Me, I believe in some variety, coz your body always adjusts to what you're eating.;)

Have a great day gals!
Nat x :)

Great to be at refeed

So glad Nat!! It is absolutely amazing how the weight drops for you at this time. You must be really ready for that refeed, so enjoy it, and go for it!!!
So so pleased for you.
Cryss: was hoping you had the most fantastic day for your birthday.
Have a good day everyone

Hi Everyone,
Re: Cheese
Feta once a week
Cheese once per day
Because I was eating cheese everyday I asked my consultant if that would slow weight loss down but she said no. She ate cheese everyday for her program and lost a huge amount of weight, but who knows it may still be an individual thing.

Nat - you should see another big drop the first few days on the refeed - well done!!!

Moni - Double Digits!!!!!!!! Congratulations

Refeed is going ok for me, will post again in a few days and let you know what I am introducing. I get to mix proteins in a couple of days.

I thought I would throw this offer out - I have a few really nice dresses, jumpers and some jeans in sizes 14 & 16 if anyone wants them. Some of them I have only worn once or twice. No money wanted and not fussed if you take them and donate them to the op shop after you lose your weight.email me.

Good morning girls! (there aren't any blokes are there??)

Day 3 for me and all is going well. i am amazed at how easy this has been so far, but i'm also learning what bad habits i had formed ie... the last couple of days i have been out and about, and just little things like going to put petrol in... that would generally mean a chocolate bar for me... but now i stop and think, but then realise that i don't even want the chocolate bar.
anyways, i jumped on the scales this morning (i know i should wait - but i couldn't resist!) and they showed a loss of 2kg already! Woohoo! But I'm going to wait now, at least weekly, if not fortnightly.
I need to succeed! And I know I can - i just have to make sure i am really organised with all of my meals, because i know as soon as i'm not, that's when i will fall off. my husband told me this morning that he wasn't as physically attracted to me as when we first met (who can blame him - i was a good 20kg lighter then) that hurt to hear, but in a way it has given me a good kick up the bum. i know he didn't tell me this to hurt me... just telling it like it is i guess.

I hope everyone has a great weekend - keep drinking that water! (i have never peed so much since i was pregnant - and even then i don't think it was this much!!)

Ciao
