Myshy- great work on making it through today without cheating! I know how hard it is once you break to get back on the straight and narrow- took me a month... But stick with it a few days and it will get easier and easier.:)
One day at a time, one meal at a time. You can so do it!

Always remember - don't say tomorrow is a new day and I will start then.. SAY The next minute is a new minute and a minute closer to getting to my goal of my healthy self. Iff you break, try not to think, oh well I blew it so I may as well continue to blow it. Get back on that wagon as soon as you break.Kim

Myshy - for once I wrote something inspirational?? Usually everyone else is saying the good stuff. Im glad it worked for you. Congratulations on going a whole day with out breaking. It feels fantastic doesn't it.

*waving to Joysey*

dinner went ok.. I just had a bit of pasta sauce - no pasta and a tiny bit of dessert as the guests would have been offended if I didn't eat it.

I still showed a loss but I could have had a bigger one.

Good luck to all tomorrow. Have a great day

update - day 94

thanks for all the encouraging words! still feels fabulous to be in the double digits, I cant believe I've got 9kg to go before I hit the 80's! Im hoping to weigh in around the 92kg mark by the end of Feb. I took a photo of the scales on Sunday that show the 99.7 & I have put this up on the fridge for my daily motivation....Michael bought me a beautiful bunch of flowers on Sunday afternoon for a job well done which was really nice of him. He also bought me this beautiful dress for when I reach my goal, its size 10 & gee whiz it is small! lets hope I fit into it in a few months time..

my size 18 jeans from 16-26 store are too baggy for me these days, so I've bout myself a size 18 jeans from Target whilst the specials were on....

I've got to stay absolutely focused this month, because in 4wks time (6th March) I'm in Uluru for 10 days for the work conference..and yikers that will most likely be a hard time for me as far as food goes, I wont be able to weigh myself daily or weigh my food either - 'cos it'll be hotel / restaurant food - I'll have to rely on my judgement for portion sizes and food selections, fingers crossed it wont effect things too much.

MONI - Your looking fabulous ! Your progress photo shows the amazing transformation your body & face have taken on so far with the weight loss, and you must be half way there now? Time to count down!! You'll be at the double digits in no time!! Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself at the night out, sounds like you had a fun :)

CRYSS - Its either Cohens way, PAL's way or the highway my friend! Just stay focused on the goal you want to reach for your birthday, let determination be on your side :)

-------------------

I wrote the above part of my post last night in NotePad & had to leave it there because I felt faint-ish....... I woke up this morning & weighed myself (as you do), and I have lost another 1kg over night .......Im now 98.7kg!

Gotta go jump in the shower & get ready for work.

Have a great day!

Mel

A move on my ticker... woohoo!

Hi everyone!

One week down and there's a positive move on my ticker! I can't believe it! I'm so happy. Here's to week 2! :p

MEL - Congratulations on two digits! You must be so excited. I wish you all the very best for achieving the remainder of your weight loss. You truly will look and feel like a princess on your wedding day - something every girl should get to do!

I want to thank you all for the numerous tips and hints you have all posted over time. They are all good to know and inspiring when I feel like there's no way to overcome some things ( i.e. getting down that 2 litres of water a day! ). I am one of the ones who tends to down it all in the latter part of the day, then regret it because I'm running to the toilet every 15 minutes! It of course makes sense that we have to space it out over the whole day, therefore out bodies process it properly. I just have to keep a flask of it stapled to my hip, me thinks!!

I did want to ask you all something... Do many of you stick to the same kind of meals / food types?? I find that I have to, because there are a number of the veges or fruits I don't like. Meals become difficult to plan when I'm using the same foods all the time. Has anyone found their weight loss slows when they eat the same foods / meals all the time? Does varying the foods / meals produce better weight loss?? Interesting to hear your thoughts.

Hope all is going well for everyone. :)

Any newbies out there wanting to set goals with another newbie?? A challenge maybe? Keep us on our toes!! ;)

Challenge

Hey,

PinkVirgo - I'm up for a challenge, let me know what you had in mind. :)

I hope everyone is staying strong. One of my friends said the best thing to me today -

Not only do you have to fight yourself, 20 years of habits, and your body but you have to fight everyone else as well! But you know what, when you succeed its all that much more worth it!

She is totally right and I'm going to print it off in big red letters and stick it to my fridge. :D

Bye for now.

Water Water Water

I know I know I know .... Moni said it and I never believed her, actually I did believe her, but I couldn't get the damn stuff down my neck hole, until MONDAY that is!

We are about to leave the house, I say to the other half "could you grab my water bottle" (token gesture, I hardly drink a drop at work) he says "you want me to fill it up? See if you can drink a bottle by the time we get to your work" .... Well well well ... he's not just a pretty face! by golly I did it, emptied one before work (750mls) one before Morning Tea (750mls) one over lunch (750mls) one in the afternoon (750mls). Now, if my calculations are correct that's 3 litres BEFORE I finish work and I still have a whole night to try and squeeze another 2 in!!!!

So in honour of "Moni the Water Baby", there might be something special on it's way to you soon. With all our love from your friends!

In light of the water drinking thing, it's falling off, I mean, I can feel it in just two days. I lost a little over 1 kg on the weekend. I'm aiming towards having less that 50 to lose by the end of the week!

GIRLS I'M COMING BACK!!! BUCKLE IN THIS RIDE IS ABOUT TO GET BUMPY

Well Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Cryss. All that water AND the positive, fighting attitude AND some weight loss. That is just SOoooooooo good.
Everything is back on track with me, and the scales are behaving the way they are supposed to.

Go Cryss!

Cryss, so your now buckled in and ready? remember you can't get a return ticket! The only words of complaint outta your mouth are going to be "are we there yet? are we there yet?" & when you reach that goal, you can unbuckle yourself & arriving at the ultimate destination....'skinny town' :p hang in there gal, 'cos its worth the ride :)

Oh Mel that is all so true :)

Well I haven't wrote anything for a while but I have been reading. The reason I haven't written anything is because I have been really bad - my wagon EXPLODED but I found some parts today and am rebuilding!!! :) I had a run in with my clinic so now I am going to do it on my own (but with all of you helping :) :) )
I will let you all know how I am going :)

A quick note before I hit the hay...

Well, I completely missed out on eating my fruit allowance and one of my crackers today - whoops. I can't wait til day 10 has passed and I can feel free to omit them if I want... I'm just not hungy enough to eat them sometimes!

I'm still struggling with the water. I'm so amazed that some of you can down 5 litres of the stuff in one day! I think I'll aim for 2 and a half litres and go from there.

DANPOLL - Congrats on getting back on the wagon. How much do you have to lose? Had you lost much before the damn thing exploded on you??

BLULA - I'm not sure what kind of challenge we should set ourselves. It looks like you're one week ahead of me as far as start dates go. I was thinking setting a weekly or maybe monthly goal for loss. Some people on here seem to make 10kg monthly goals, AND achieve them?!?! Somehow I think that might be too much for me. That would mean I'd have to lose 2.27 kilos per week from now... and with a loss of only 3.2 kilos in the first week I'm expecting my weekly loss to decrease a lot more from now.. I'll have to wait and see. What would you say to a goal of a 7 kilo loss in our first months?? :D

MEL - Cute cheer. You should send it to your clinic consultant and have them publish it the next Cohens newsletter!! ;)

Well, nighty night people. Take care and be strong!

Hi PinkVirgo - I started at 101.6 at the end of June and did fantastic until October! then I had something I shouldn't have had but still lost so my stupid brain said I could have more and that is where the trouble started!!!
Hopefully I stay on track now - this morning I was 75.4 although before xmas I was 70.something!! I need to get to 47 - 50 although like someone else said, the last time I was that I think I was 10!! I would be happy at 60??!!

Dreamer I am not sure about Cryss's PAL! YUCK What I did set for myself over xmas was if I got to 69 I could buy some shoes, wellllllll I found 2 pair on special and bought them!! So I need to set myself another goal?? I have to admit I am a scale hopper but I have always been one :(

so here is to another new day :)

And on the 8th day god created water

Water is the trick and the trick is to start early.

Get the ball rolling before noon and the job is half done.

I'll have downed a litre before 9am.

Which for me is a bloody miracle!

As for scale hopping, at my size I value every precious gram falling off, so as at this mornings HOP I'm down again and loving it!! Once I get to 'normal' range and the weight starts slowing some, I'll cut it back to a weekly weigh-in. (I'm a certified member of WA - Weighers Annonymous)

Keep up the excellent work everyone!

Danpoll- you can do it alone without your clinic, god knows there are enough of us on her to prove that. The majority of clinics (maybe the older ones) have given us nothing but the plan and sent us on our way. Stick with us kid!:p

Water.....water.....water

WATER IS THE KEY TO THIS PROGRAM... IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE WATER IT WON'T WORK........ HOW ELSE IS THE FAT GOING TO LEAVE YOUR BODY...... THE TRICK IS YOU WEE IT OUT...... COME ON GUY'S GET THAT WATER DOWN IT'S GOOD FOR YOU........ DUE TO MY WATER INTAKE( AND THE EATING PROGRAM) I HAVE LOST 40KG'S IN 14 WEEKS......AND IT'S NOT HARD IF YOU DRINK YOUR WATER....... WELL DONE CRYSS GLAD YOU HAVE TAKEN MY ADVICE.........

Hi all, I weigh 150kg and I am thinking of going on the Cohen's program. Any suggestions. Is it really manageable? What about exercise? They see you don't need to do it - Any help or suggestions much appreciated.,

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to let you all know that I managed to stay back on Cohen's for 6 days, and then I was still absolutely starving, so I broke it and started eating normally again. I had expected the hunger to disappear after 3 or 4 days like last time, but it didn't.
I don't know if I don't have enough fat left on my body to sustain me with the limited amounts of food, or if it is just too hard to get back on once you have gone off.
I am going to try to stick to the basic principals without weighing the food and see how that goes. Will keep you informed.
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon.
Beck

I wonder why?

rjm: so sorry to hear you were starving. I know we are not supposed to be. Were you using up all the extras - diet coke, chewing gum, drinking all the water, having the fruit and biscuits? Sometimes it might be extra chromium? You can safely take more, especially just for a few days. And double the vitamins. You could make sure you made the high carb choices in each meal, and the higher carb fruits.
Just suggestions to try. ring the consultant if you can't find an answer I guess. I hope you find an answer soon because you have done SO well.

Another thought

rjm, have you increased your activity levels since you finished the program? Maybe if you have you would need to slow down a tad until your body adjusts?

Welcome ksch 2004. You will find this a great support group for Cohens. Yes, I would recommend it. I have tried just about everything over the years, and really this works. Also from watching others who have completed it, it is possible to keep it off. Most people lose really fast if they stick to it 100%. I'm one of the slow ones but I wouldn't change being on this program for anything.
Why don't you ring, or email your nearest consultant with your address, and get the information, and then you will have a better idea. Have you been to the website? The testimonials are fascinating and there is some info there that helps.
Happy decision making!
