ladies and voyeurs!

well life is good ... seems the scales have started moving again in the right direction .. all excellent.

I'd stopped for a wee while (yo-yo for 2 weeks) but seems when you get BACK on the wagon ... it moves!!! And unfortunately as the wise Joysey said, the wheels are wooden, then will never go flat, so we "Women Of The Wagon Train" have no excuse.

I took my measurements last night, I went through boxes and boxes of crap to find the tape measure, but their taken! now I'm going to log my measurements and daily intake in my FREE Slimming mag diary. I only realised that this diet has NO calories, yesterday I ate 525 Cals 11grms FAT, that's NOTHING! Although if you ask Joysey, she would give you a DUH! because she has been diligent in measuring every item of food and it's weight/nutritional value/energy value etc. But me, I'm like wow, this is light on in the calories department!

Katie, I was under the impression that exercise was verboten on the program, although Mel is a sit-up freak/gym junkie so maybe she can give you some pointers.

Blula, I don't know how you do it without scales!!! I wish I didn't have the temptation of them sitting there, looking at me, taunting me, "come on, just one weigh in, come on, it won't hurt" they are like drug pushers ;). We wish you all the best for Saturday, we know you will see great things!

pinkcandy, can I ask what's CURVES?

Happymummy, welcome and WOW!! 20.9kgs without saying a word? I would have been dancing on the rooftops YELLING it at us, that is a fantastic effort, you will be at goal in NO TIME!! keep us posted and tell us your secret, most likely the same as MONI - the stubbornness of a Mallee Bull!!!

PinkVirgo, welcome and NICE ticker, good to see it all working. Not sure if you have started or not, but I weaned myself off milk and bread for a few days before I went right in. It really helped with the headaches and cravings. If you have started, drink lots of water, it will help if you are susceptible to headaches.

Healthymum, you and I will get a reputation for having really bad balance, the number of times we fall off things! Do you know what encourages you to fall off, I know for me it is socializing, Mon- Fri 9-5 I'm a MONI replica, when I get home at night and weekends? I fall apart, my whole social calendar had revolved around food, cafes, and coffees. It's going to take some time to train, myself, family and friends that there needs to be more to my life than eating at any and all occasions.

Jonelle, as above, wagon falling off is an epidemic at the moment, it's either in the water or following the cycle of the moon! Whatever it is though, we have to FIGHT IT, it's really not acceptable, especially given that there are so many others (you know who you are) who would no sooner fall off the wagon than they would cut off a limb. I think we owe it to our fellow weight losers to hang on to that wagon with white knuckle determination.

Dreamer, I'm waiting with baited breath for an update. You have done so well and you are about to continue that success, I think Christmas bit us all on the bum in some way, and for no specific reason it hurt some more than others. But us wagon folk are here to see you get back on track, because "we've got your back"

Ros, welcome back I do hope all goes well, it doesn't sound at all comfortable, but I suppose knowing is the best reward.

Casey, come here and give us a hug girl! ... hope you have checked your wagon, it better be roadworthy and have all your required creature comforts, because you are going to be STUCK ON IT for a LONG TIME ... we won't be letting you fall off, the min you go near the edge of that wagon think about this, picture me, an ugly, hairy, overweight, snarling rottweiler, and I'm running circles round that wagon, you take one slip off and I'm gonna bite you on the fleshy bit!!! Think about it, it would be wise to stay on the wagon, I'm a big girl ;)

Kaseysmum, wonderful to see you posting again. Missed giving you a ribbing! hope you didn't get any splinters up ya bum from the fence? See you in the chat room!

And to Myshy, Mel, Joysey, Moni, rajah and anyone else I might have forgotten, much like Chez, I didn't mean to, but Patrick is running around starkas!!!!, he isn't potty trained either, and that IS a problem!! :)

stay good, stay safe, and stay true to yourself.

The Definition of Stupid is NT40KG! no no no sorry sorry sorry ... I didn't meant that really ;) ...
ok the REAL definition of stupid is: doing the same thing again and again and expecting a DIFFERENT result. If we keep doing the same thing we will get the same results!

Lizzi: Keep going everyone!

It is good to see how each of you are going. Just keep hanging in there because it will all be worth it. This is such a small part of our lives, but it will affect the rest of it. The food we love, and the social life around food are not about to disappear. None of it is leaving the planet. When we are healthier and our right weights we will be able to enjoy it all again while many around us will be struggling like each of us has been.
This is a super good thing we are doing for ourselves.
And Divinemissnat: you can do it. I know you can. It will be such a special achievement. And you are so so close.
About having to travel: Whether it is for a day or for a week, staying on this plan can work. You can make it happen. I just take my food scales with me. And depending on where I will be, I buy things every day or two days. If I am staying in one place I use the fridge, and otherwise I make sure I take an insulated container - or in the car something bigger - you can buy insulated bags so cheaply these days.
If I can't cook I live on yoghurt, cheese, tuna, and precooked chicken - the worst would be to have to use cooked prawns. Then there are always small packets of lettuce, a tomato and a bit of capsicum.
It might get a bit boring, but it works. And it is only for such a small part of our lives. Even been known to weigh up my food in the supermarket car park before arriving somewhere with my food tucked away in a bag. What a sight!
As long as I can get access to a fridge or insulated bag I can pre-pack 2-3 days food easy. Time consuming but it can be done.
If I am with other people I just tell them this is the way it has to be, I am on a special plan that I cannot deviate from - they accept it because they have to, and if they stay around and see the results, they really come to respect it.
Eating out: I take my food. Or I eat before I go or when I get home. I think ahead so I can be as inconspicuous in a restaurant as possible. I often ask them if I can eat, and only once has someone questioned it, and they still said yes I could eat my food. Often they offer knives or forks or plates. (But I will come prepared if they don't.)

My weightloss has taken 7 months so far and it will be over a year when I finish. Life goes on in that time, but I'm making the most of it now and I don't intend to miss out. While my friends eat, I order whatever I can drink. It keeps my hands occupied, I sip slowly. And I know that every moment of that time I am losing!!! Yes it is worth the planning and the effort!

Such a long post - got a bit carried away.

Thanks Lizzi- thats great advice and a great way of looking at things. Now I can see the thinking that has given you the willpower and determination to get this far! You go!!! :)

Hi Everyone,
WOW........so many new people on the forum. WELCOME! It's so nice to have all this support.

Joysey - I just knew you would lose that extra bit on the refeed! Well done :) You already look amazing.you will have to post some pics to show off your super model looks!

RJM - Och Aye.......Welcome home....glad to hear the Scottish food didn't do too much damage. I know only too well how they like to ply you with cakes and biscuits over there...and yes the food is quite stodgy...you did really well.

GRRR..can't find a pen anywhere - you can't type on this forum without jotting down all the names and questions these days!

Re: Exercise.......I was told that if you were already exercising it was okay to continue, but just to keep an eye out if you feel faint etc..but not to start anything taxing. I think a general increase of walking upstairs instead of using the lift, parking the car away from the door of the shopping centre, walking in the evening etc are ok though and probably good for general toning.

Cryss - what and where is the magazine. I want one! Curves is a womens only gym (what...no men?? who will we perve on?) LOL @ Patrick not being toilet trained.

Nat - I'll kick you if you kick me. I should have finished this program ages ago. I have my refeed and want to get started in the next 2 weeks.

Lizzi - WOW - 7 months in and still so focussed - well done :)

Dreamer - The first week back is really hard...don't be so hard on yourself. Most of the time we still have yummy stuff in the cupboards and the temptation is too much. I find evenings the worst as well. After my kids to go bed I am left twiddling my thumbs and I inevitably end up in the cupboards 'looking' for something. I find a drink of the coke helps because of the sweetness.

Moni - well done on your goal!! :) :) :)

Keeping smiling ladies and keep up the fantastic posts!!

Myshy

I WANT A TICKER THAT HAS CATS ON IT!!!!!!!!!

Well girls the scales are moving again, its good when you see something for all your good work.

( well in the last 3 days I've lost 1.5kg, and that wasn't really eating the correct portion sizes. )

Does anyone else have flabby skin under the arms, loose tummy ?

I've too though about joining curves but it's another expensive and we have just started building our new home.

Anyone have any thought on this??

kaseymum and cryss:
what ages are your toddlers?

I just (Hope to) finished toilet training my 2yr old son Zacie, truly he was a dream to teach, compared to stories my girlfriends have told me about there toddlers.

My eldest Anthony(4yr old) was really good too...

Speaking of .. must go Zac just told me he needs a ..yeh....

Hi everyone. I've done really well the first 2 days back on Cohen's. I had forgotten it makes you feel when you are doing it. The serotonin must be kicking in again as I feel like I can achieve anything, and only 1 or 2 more days and I should be back in ketosis. Yay no more hunger !!
Nat - I didn't compensate for anything I ate. A days example of my food intake while away was: Breakfast - 2 pieces toast with strawberry jam and a soy yoghurt (so much for no carbs for breakfast) or black pudding, bacon, eggs, grilled tomato and mushroom, and toast.
Lunch - Jacket potato with tuna/mayo and cheese on top
Dinner - Shepherds pie with mashed turnip ( mashed with lashings of butter of course).
In between - Packets of chips, chocolate and shortbread.
They eat very few vegetables except potatoes and turnips (Tatties & Neeps), and although I'm sure if I had continued eating like this indefinately I would certainly have gained, I was thrilled that I did maintain my weight, and it is certain proof that the program does work.
Happymum - I have got flabby skin under my arms and on my tummy ( I have lost 35kg so far). I have found, though, that it is improving as time goes by. I started the diet in July last year, and in November I completed the re-feed as we were going on a family holiday. I have found that the excess skin is definately getting better as time goes on, but I do have my doubts as to whether it will all disappear. I joined Curves half way through my program last year, and found it absolutely wonderful. I haven't been for about a month now as we've been away, but plan to get into it as soon as my body adjusts to being back on the program. I am hoping that this will help me maintain my weight long term.
Dreamer - I save my chewing gum and sprite zero for night time, and make this my "treat" when everyone else has gone to bed. makes me feel a little less deprived. I also split my meals/snacks into 2.5 hour slots, so I don,t have too long to wait till the next meal. eg breakfast 7.00, morning tea 9.30, lunch 12.00, afternoon tea 2.30 or 3.00 and thendinner 5.30 or 6.00 and then I have my chewing gum and sprite later. Try not to chew the gum too much as it can make you hungry, but if you just chew it a little every now and again it lasts for a while and you get a different flavour, and then if I get hungry later I "fill up" with cups of black tea sweetened with hermasates ( not sure of spelling).
Cryss - great to see that the weight is coming off again. You are so right," when you get BACK on the wagon ... it moves!!!
lmr - great to hear from you. You have done so well. Size 8!!!!!!!! That is still only in my dreams, but hopefully not too far away.
To everyone else - keep up the good work, or good luck at getting back on track ( which ever is appropriate). The washing machine has just finished, so I'd better go hang it out. I'm still trying to catch it all up.
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon.
Beck

My goodness there are alot of new people on board.

Cryss, our gain her loss (NT40KG)

Imr - welcome home, my stepfather is scottish. I would love to go and see his homeland.

MONI - Well done on reaching your mini goal..I didn't get to mine but I want to be at mine now by the 8th of Feb.

I am determined to be at my goal weight in by June 12th as my husband and I are having a weekend away by ourselves - no kids!! (grandma doesn't know she is babysitting yet.. hehehe)

Michelle - come on we can do this.

Dreamer - I too found that once you broke for the that first time it is soooooo very hard to get back on track.. I just need to go 4 days without breaking and I won't have the cravings anymore but I can't seem to do that.

What now makes it harder is that my sister and her husband has moved into the house and she brings with her lots of junk food like chips and at the moment I am just craving chips - and I seem to be eating them like they are going out of fashion. I hate myself while I am eating them but I can't seem to stop.

I ate horribly yesterday and still lost weight so that has given me a great kick up the bum and every time I eat something I shouldnt, I make myself drink and extra 600ml of water. I think I must be drinking about 5 litres a day.

Always remember - don't say tomorrow is a new day and I will start then.. SAY The next minute is a new minute and a minute closer to getting to my goal of my healthy self. Iff you break, try not to think, oh well I blew it so I may as well continue to blow it. Get back on that wagon as soon as you break.

Chez - welcome back hun and we will get together soon. Did you find out about tumbling tots?? to Rajah and carolyn... lets all meet up!

Kim

I have still not broken yet, but am finding it harder to stop myself as the weight loss is slowing down.

Hoping the Biggest looser (13/02/06) will give me some motivation.
I have never noticed until now, how many yummy food commercials there are on at night!

Good Night & Good luck

Hi Gals!

Just checkin in with you all...
This is day three back on the wagon for me... ;) Doing well so far, but still wanting to cheat constantly. I am staying strong though. I am determined. And I am due a blood test on the 21st and I want a good report. :)

Stay strong everybody!
Nat :)

Congratulations!!!! *****

Hi everyone,
Great to see everyone is doing so well and making progress with their weightloss.

I have been yo-yoing for the last week but I feel I am now continuing in the right direction. The challenge for me is on the weekend with a christening and a birthday to attend. I'm not superwoman nor do I have willpower of steel. Have been looking at changing the model of my wagon and investing in one that I can't fall off. Hard to find this one but am trying!!!! ;)

I just want to say congratulations to everyone as we have made it to page 50 of this forum and it is FIVE STAR rated. It's the only forum with this rating!!!! Keep up the good work everyone as the support is fantastic and we have a huge network of friends. :D

Have a good day tomorrow.

going to bed

Off to bed, crazy with hunger today, bloody that time of the month and I'm craving everything in sight.

kid that works for me, bought a box of KK Donuts back from Sydney.

Anytime I mentioned SUGAR craving, hes like "would you like a KK Cryss" ... me 3 months ago would have just said #$%^! IT! and eaten one, the old "I'll make up for it tomorrow" BUT today ???? I walked away, I took my sugar craving tablet, I had a nectarine, I drank a coffee, I drank some water I did everything else but eat that damn donut!

AND I FEEL GREAT!!!

STARVING BUT GREAT!!!! :p

did I mention the scales moved again this morning!! they moved SOUTH!

Hi again.
I've now completed my 3rd day back on the program, and I'm finding the hunger is not quite as bad this morning, so I'm hoping that I'll soon be back in ketosis. I've decided that I will go down to 65 kg and then start the re-feed as I lost 2.5kg on the re-feed last time I completed it.
Cryss - excellent work. Doesn't it feel great to know you have had the willpower to say no, especially when someone is being so "nice" and constantly offering you things like Krispy Kreams.
Dreamer - that mango recipe has my mouth watering. I will definately be trying that one soon!
Katie - try to stay focused. It is really hard to get back on track if you break the diet. If the weight loss has slowed down, try to increase your water, or if you eat salt, try cutting back on this. It usually works for me.
Healthymum - ask your sister if she can put all her junk into a seperate cupboard that you won't look in. If it's not right in your face you might not find it as tempting.
Nat - well done. Hopefully a few more days back on it, and the cravings will disappear. How much more weight do you have to lose?
Have a great day everyone. Talk to you soon.
Beck

Staying on the wagon....

I think that I may have finally put up the rails on the wagon, I'm not saying they won't erode or perish but I'm trying really hard.

I've lost a bit more this week. ..I am a compulsive weigher and I can't help myself.. that's just the way I am - I take the good with the bad....

Cryss

LOL I have three toddlers;

1. 31yr who is spoilt rotten and is a constant attention seeker, tantrum chucker and whinger.

2. 4yr Anthony an angel when he's asleep, only joking - he's like all other kids really.... Mummy boy unil Pops around ( he's no.1 grand son)

3. 2yr Zachary my blue eyed blonded haired baby.. literally keeps the spring in my step.. I have become Kathy Freedom with him....(pops boy too)

I really hang out for this forum... Is that a normal thing??? LOL

oK... Kids are fighting and Zac just come out of the bathroom wearing his undies as a skirt so... I better go check things out...

Cheers ladies....

Day4.... again!

Day 4 today back on the wagon and my wagon is made of steel, i tell ya!
craving absolutely everything! i'm soooo hungry (or so im only imagining).

i bought some cromium tablets or whatever they are. haven't had one today because i forgot before i left for work.

i had to buy my boss a card and i bought him a chocie - rocky road from darrel lea and its sitting here.... waiting for me to open it. i held off for the last 24 hours and still not eating it. but its constantly on my mind "i can eat it and buy one tomorrow " (that's when his bday is, i accidentally thought it was today) anyway, i'm not gonna eat it.

the icypoles are definately good to munch on, you're right about that.

anyway, the weight is slowly.... slowly coming off and yay i get to change my ticker

come on, gals, wagons of steel!!!!
