Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies.
Mel, you are absolutely stunning in your engagement photos. You are going to make one beautiful bride!
Moni, you are seriously powering through the diet. Even if you lose 8kg a month, that will be a fantastic achievement. I imagine the weight loss is really keeping you motivated to stay on track. I think that was what kept me so focused when I was on the diet - even though my weight loss varied anywhere from 600kg to 2kg a week, it was seeing the scales move each week that kept my focus.
Katie, I didn't do any exercise whilst I was on the diet. I found just doing a 15 minute walk got me really really hungry, but I think everyone's different. If I could have timed it that I could exercise just before I was due to eat a meal, it may have been easier. I've really gotten into exercise since finishing the diet - lots of walks and I go to Curves at least 3 times week. If you want to start exercising, give it a go and just see how you feel.
Blula, sounds like you're going well. I'm sure you'll see wonderful results at your first weigh in.
Casey, that's great motivation for you that your workmates are on the diet. Make sure you stay on the wagon!
PinkCandy, for a chilli chicken dish, I used to brown my chicken allowance in a non stick frying pan, add dry chilli, and then add veggie allowance (I used onion, tomato, zucchini and mushroom) and a splash of water, let it simmer (not too long though otherwise the veggies disappear!).
Myshy, hope you're going okay. Bugger about the scales. That must have been a really hard decision to make. Are you holding off on starting the refeed now?
Kim, great to hear from you. You have got a great goal to strive for so everytime you think of hopping off your wagon, think about your weekend away in June and get back on the wagon!
Cryss, hope your back is better. I think the hardest part about this whole journey is reprogramming your mind about the way you think about food. I didn't do it consciously, but somehow, at sometime (I don't know when), it just happened. Even now, 6 weeks after finishing, I'm always thinking about what I'm eating and if I've been a bit (or really) naughty (like this weekend) I am conscious of what I eat the following week. But it doesn't feel like burden - it just happens naturally. I think because this program is so strict, once I hit goal, I knew there was no way I wanted to have to do this again, so maybe that's where the reprogramming comes from.
To everyone else I have missed, stay focused and on the wagon and you'll be rewarded by fabulous results.
On Friday, I went shopping at David Lawrence (I've never even stepped foot in that store before). I wanted to buy a black cocktail dress. The sales assistant brought out a gorgeous dress for me to try on. It was beautiful, but alas, it was a size 10 and it was too small!!! I couldn't believe it!!! So, $330 later, I left the store with a size 8!!! It was way too expensive, but it's the first size 8 I've ever tried on, let alone fit into, so it had to come with me!
Have a great week everyone. Lisa
