Club 200 Plus

Congrats on hitting 299 to joining the 200 club.

It really makes it hard to motivate yourself when u have worked hard and people that have seen you before your weight loss and then you loose weight and its been a while since they have seen you and they don't notice how much you have lost. And to get yourself motivated to do this for yourself.

I have been dealing with this. I have lost a total of 22 pounds and 2 pants sizes and people do not even see this. 22 pounds is a good bit of weight and it does make you feel like what the heck I still look FAT and no one see that I am loosing weight at all after all this work.

Well I just want everyone to know that I am proud of everyone for the weight you have lost and the weight you are going to loose and for trying to get into shape and taking that first step to starting to get healthier.:hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray:

Thanks for the warm welcome, and sure... this round's on me! Hehe.

First off... congratulations, you're doing great!

Second... this might be an etiquette thing. I'm willing to bet that people have noticed, they just don't draw attention to it out of politeness. Weight is a sensitive issue; you never know how someone will react when you attempt to compliment them on their weight loss. Some people get very defensive about it. Others... embarrassed. It really varies from person to person.

If you feel like you are lacking positive encouragement, try talking to your close friends about it. And I do mean close ones.. others won't really understand and will just mouth platitudes. Tell them: Hey, I've been working really hard to lose weight and it helps motivate me and makes me feel really good when you notice and comment.

The only other thing I would offer is that you should try to keep in mind that you're doing this for you, not for them. Your self-image is more important than what others see, and while it's nice to get some positive feedback from time to time be careful not to fall into the trap of trying to fit anyone's mold but your own. In other words: Be the best "you" you can be. :)

Anyone know any good shoes to buy when your arches hurt while working out.
Anytime I do like balance games on the Wii like ski jumping and others that involve my feet sitting still but moving my body to keep it balanced is causing my arches in my feet to hurt.

I don't wear shoes at all when I do the Wii fit. If your arches are hurting, though, try sports insoles or arch support insoles before you buy completely new shoes. That may solve the problem. :)

Well, it's great to be with you all here! I'm currently at 222, and determined to be in an entirely different club by June!

Re: the being noticed thing -- I'd actually rather people (except really close friends) didn't notice. I've had enough notice (for being fat) to last me a lifetime!

And what's been working for me recently -- two things in particular!

close-up achievable goals -- currently it's to get under fifteen and a half stone, ie 217 lbs -- I change the unit of weight to suit my goal-setting needs!

having a shirt and a pair of trousers one size too small, to try on and see how close they're getting to fitting me! c-l-o-s-e-r... c-l-o-s-e-r.....

Welcome aboard! By the way....why no parsnips? Parsnips are delish!

Does anyone got any idea why I am not loosing weight. I am working out more than I was and I know its been a while since I lost some.
I bought a bike and added weight training to my exercise program too other than just walking and boxing.

I am watching what I eat just not to close on the weekends but still stay within range of 1800 calories a day.
I figure I might of hit a plateau and that is why I added the weight training and bike riding.

Anyone got any ideas of what to do?

If you weren't weight training before, it'll add a few pounds of muscle for a week or two, so that might be it. Changing up your routine is the exact right thing to do! The only other thing I can think of that may be a problem would be that you're underestimating your portion sizes, in which case you need a measuring tune up.
Have fun!

Yeah i lost no weight for 3 weeks recently and it was kinda annoying. I just persevered and it started coming off again. Best of luck to you.
Down to 210 as of today, 14 pounds from goal :D

Liltdoxies, – I guess it’s a plateau – I am dreading the idea of getting there because almost all of my motivation comes from seeing the numbers on the scale go down. But maybe you’re losing in other ways ie while perhaps having more slender but better muscled legs, your waistline is shrinking? Something like that. Maybe you could use the tight-fitting clothes test, to see if that's the case -- buy something a size too small, and then see how it's getting more and more possible. :)

and txsqulchick asked:

and is exactly right! parsnips are delish. But "fine words butter no parsnips" -- an old saying meaning "talking can be just hot air, you need actual on-the-ground action", and I thought the time for talking about losing weight was past, and I wanted to actually achieve it. So maybe butteredparsnips would have been a better choice! :biggrinjester:

well i track my weight loss and gains on the wii and looks like a up down and then way up then back down lower weight then I was. But I def feel better some times I feel like I could go for a Jog if it were that I got a better sports bra. Went online looking around for one tonight and think I found something that I can do a more aggressive workout with now.

I had a dream the other night too that I was doing back bends and pulling myself back up like I did when I was younger LOL

Hubby told me since I am soo worried about loosing the 12 pounds in 10 days that the whole family will workout with me and push me too.

Now if they will just not eat in front me. Guess I could take off for a bike ride while everyone ate. LOL

Hi everyone, I'm sort of new around here. I was on the forum once before and ended up getting away from diet but I'm now back on a new diet and I'm really looking forward to getting to know people who are struggling the same way I am.

So, according to the scale, I've lost 18 pounds, but I don't look or feel any different. Meh. At what point do the ladies start kicking down your door?

I totally agree with not seeing any results. I'm down 20 lbs. and my pants feel sorta bigger around the waist. I even tried on a size smaller in the store and they were so tight I would def not wear them in public. But then again a few people have commented on me looking slimmer all other. My DH also said that I thinks my waist, hips, and chest are showing a difference. I just wish I could see it!

Welcome to all the new people. The thing about you not thinking you look any better is simple, you see yourself many times in the mirror every day im sure. The changes are gradual and not really dramatic so you get this perception that your not losing weight. If people that dont see you that often comment
that you look better then there you go. Another thing you could do is take monthly photos of yourself and compare them. If there has been any changes in your appearance it will be way more apparent this way. :)

I think the more dramatic change for me was me going down in clothing sizes (I'm a guy). I went from wearing a 46 to 44 to 42 right now. And I went from a shirt size XXL to XL and now I can fit in a Large (though it's not all that comfortable, but it still fits).

About buying a size smaller clothing: I do think it's a good idea, but ...

I am trying to work down to a shirt marked "large" and I pulled so hard to try to make it do up on the bottom button that I ripped the buttonhole! So I'm not sure that that motivator is a good one for me. :smilielol5:

I am making progress (217 lbs now) but I'm not very patient!

That's the same problem I have. I diet and/or exercise one day and don't understand why I haven't lost 5 pounds. I mean I understand it in my brain; it's the animal part of me that refuses to believe that minimal effort leads to minimal results.

Totally frustrating.

On the happy hand, though, I bought My Fitness Trainer for Wii today and I think it'll be perfect. One, she recommended 15 minute workouts to start with. I'm pretending to train for a half-marathon that I'm walking at the end of March and I have found in the process that I have a really short attention span and maybe walking 4.5 hours is a little much for me. Oh well. I spent the money. Now I'm walking in the frickin' race!

Hi, New here...I think I'm in the right place

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and really trying to find an online place for support and information.
I have been on the weight loss journey for about 6 months now using WW and have lost about 23lbs so far. It really works for me, no change of food just portions and points.

I have been having some funny healthy issues with blood pressure going low and feeling cold all the time. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like that with weight loss?

How did you get your little Ticker thing at the bottom.

Thanks,
Juni

Alright, back on track finally! I'm down to where I was before christmas and -1lb actually. I've been eating right and working out at least 3 times a week, which I wish was more but work schedules suck. I'm excited, I feel all my clothes fitting so much more loosely. I hope everyone else is doing just as awesome!
