Hi Everyone and welcome to the forum!!

Charolette, the kms counted towards our challenge, can be cycling, walking running - anything where you're moving and measuring your distance. This current challenge has taken us from Banff towards Winipeg :)

b_w_m (I can't call you a brat!) ;) Yes, I did walk 6.6 miles yesterday (6.5 today), but let me tell ya - I didn't start out walking that far ;) Good luck with your foot at the doctors - I hope they're able to solve the problem and the pain soo!

My 10.4 kms today brings our total to...
1627.37

Just came back from a 2km walk. So our new total is...
1625.37

now pardon me... I'm all sticky and sweaty. I gotta go shower. :p

Kms for today 21kms brings our remaining distance to
1604.37kms

I've discovered something.....I really enjoy cycling!! Now my fitness level has improved I'm going to start to do 2 classes a week at the gym as well as the usual cardio and resistance workouts. I'm doing a pilates class on Tuesday evenings and a 'box-a-cise' class on Thursday evenings. Luckily the gym has childminding in the evening, so if DH isn't home or working I can still go (no excuses!)

Initial C - don't you love that feeling of being hot and sweaty after a really great workout! Every time I feel like missing a workout I remember how great I feel afterwards and that usually pushes me out the door ( I said usually!:) )

I'm down for a 4.2 mile walk - I took it easy this morning, since I'm planning on putting in at least 2 tonight :D

Our new total is...
1597.65

Hello, everyone!!! I walked a lot this week!

So it seems we have decided to track how far we are walking. Well, this is my first time posting this week. I weigh myself of Tuesdays, so I figured I would post how far I have walked since last tuesday, which is when I began tracking my weight loss. I started out at 255 pounds. Here is how far I walked the past week from tuesday to tuesday!!

tuesday August 1st: 1.5 miles treadmill / 2.0 mile exercise bike
wens. August 2nd: 1 mile walk with dogs
thursday August 3rd: 1.5 miles treadmill / 2.0 miles exercise bike
saturday August 5th: 1.5 miles elyptical/ 2.0 miles treadmill
monday August 7th: 1.5 mile walk with husband
tuesday: 2.0 miles elyptical/ 3.0 miles treadmill

I have lost three pounds as of today!!! YAY!!!

Updated kilometer tracker....

I forgot to subtract the distance I covered from our overall total!! Well, I added it up to 18 total miles, which equals 28.96 kilometers so, our new total left to go is.................

1568.69 !!!!

YAY!!

I walked 1.6 kms today. I am also 17lbs away from getting to "two-derland", which I am excited about. Then I can concentrate on only "one- derland" :D

Kms for yesterday 20km plus Miss Kallies 1.6km brings our distance remaining to: 1547.09kms

Can one of our Canadian friends tell us where we are at the moment?

MissK - you are soooo close to two -derland!!

FRN- great walking this week! Great to see a 'walk with husband' in there! A little story of why I don't walk with my husband.....Before our wedding (way back when) we walked and walked because I was trying to lose weight for the big day. Well, my husband is tall and lean at the best of times and he was only walking with me to keep me company especially on the evening walks. My fat cells certainly didn't want to leave me in a hurry.......on the other hand my husband was getting leaner and leaner so that EVERYBODY was saying how much weight he had lost:) Even our dog lost more weight than me:D

Walking with the hubby....

aussiechick.....

Yeah, my husband drops weight like nothing when he wants to also. All he has to do is quit drinking soda, and off come the pounds!!! We usually have competitions to see who can drop the most weight when he goes out to sea on deployment. We have a 4 monther coming up...so the competition will be in full swing!! I get 15 pounds of handicap though, because I told him "from a medical standpoint" the female metabolism works differently than a males. Our bodies are built to save and store to provide in times of famine. I embellished a tad, but he bought it!!! I dropped about 25 pounds the last time he was deployed for 4 months, just beating him by 5 pounds with the handicap....I am excited to see how I do this time!!

Kms for today 11.7kms brings our total to 1535.39kms

The good news is I can workout on the eliptical trainer now my toe is healing nicely! I thought I would give it 5 minutes to see how it felt, then 10, then 15 and before I knew it I'd got up to 20 minutes and covered 1.4kms!

anyone mind if i join in?
What are we doing? riding? walking? everything? how many km/miles do we need to do?

Welcome Wishes - we are on our way to Winnipeg! Simply keep a record of daily Kms done either by walking/cycling/rowing etc really any exercise that gets you moving. Then deduct it from the previously posted total. This is a way to keep us moving and motivated.

(glad to see someone else from my part of the world (or near enough):)

yeah i had noticed a distinct lack of us higher on the globe :)

So i take it its in miles not kms?

Hi All
Been off last 2 days back to work
my dr update well he said that there is tendon close to my ankle that is createing some problems when he touched that one spot on first try i just about came off the table my sister thought i was goign to hit the dr but any way he gave me a shot on the side of the foot to see if that will heal and then he told me since i am walking he said to get me some cross trainer tennis shoes
so I am fixing to start walking i am in USA can I play ? but mine wold be in Miles but i can use a convertor

Hi Everyone,
Wishes & B_W_M, some of us behind the times people sometimes talk in how many miles we've gone, but for the conversion and keeping track, we post and keep track of the totals in kms. You just deduct your distance from the last posted total.

Since I posted last, I walked another 1.2 m on Monday night, 4.4 m on Tuesday am and 4.4 m this morning for a total of 10 miles or 16 kms which brings our new total to...
1519.39!

It's good to have all you joining us!!
:D
