I haven't been part of a team challenge before.

I'm excited for this challenge to start! I'm thinking a lot of portion control. I have a problem with that sometimes. Maybe certain exercises... strength training/ cardio...whatever else.
 
Healthy Holidays Challenge

I think that's a better name, since it actually ends before Christmas--and so not to exclude those who don't celebrate Christmas..yes, I'm being a little PC..:eek:

Anyway, the problem with most challenges is that people are all excited, sign up, and then disappear after a couple of weeks--leaving their teamates hanging. Some never even do the first week. So here's my solution to this problem:

The first half of the challenge (3wks) will be individual. Then after the first three weeks, I'll take the people who have updated every week thus far and make random teams. All of their pts from the 1st 3wks will be transferred over to their team. That may not ensure that no one drops out during the last 3wks, but I think most people who have stayed the course for that long will continue to do so for the remainder of the challenge. This will also solve the sign up hassle. A week before the challenge starts I'll create a thread for everyone to copy and paste. This is where you'll update your pts. The challenge starts NOV 10th, so I'll let people continue to "join" until Nov. 13th. This eliminates having to confirm people, and lets everyone who wants to join have a fair crack at it. Then after week 3, if you haven't updated your pts every week, you're out of it.
 
Sounds like a plan and a great 1....I love the 3 weeks indivdual and the other team but how are ya going to decide who goes where in aa fairness I want to be on the team that has the most people losing weight and getting those bonus points!!:rotflmao: DRAWING names worked good and fair,too bad we don't have even amounts guy's and girls that would be interested,tammy

I just planned on putting all the people's names who are left in a hat or something and draw them randomly--like you did for the HC--that's the only fair way to do it, I think.

I plan on eatin' a huge healthy salad before going to the get-2gethers!

I already know I'm gonna blow my cals for that day. But it's only one day, and i'll make up for it the next. Also, that week's bonus will probably be extra exercise to make up for the extra calories...lol:rotflmao:
 
I'll eat too, but it'll be the best I've ever done bc I'll have about 2 cups of salad in me! :rotflmao:

It won't be a total pig out fest I hope!

Maybe I can find some horse blinders to wear?
 
I like the idea of the individual first half then teams second half. I was really worried when I seen the idea of only people with a certain post count because I don't have very many posts but didn't want to be excluded because of that. I update my 2lbs a week challenge every Monday so I am reliable in that aspect. I just haven't posted to as many threads as I have read (really, who has lol). I'm still absorbing as much information as I can and really wanted to get into the challenge, sometimes it is more motivating with a team because you don't want to let them down...sometimes it's to easy to accept that you have let yourself down.
 
I'm really excited about this challenge. I actively starting reading these forum after the Halloween one had already started. I like the idea of having a team challenge. Can't wait for this one to start.

Kimberly... yah, I'll go ahead and join. After the 8th of December, I'll just have to call you with an update while I'm in Hawaii. Also, it'll be added motivation not to fall off the wago... which I highly doubt will happen, because I busted my ass off (literally) to get down to this damn weight. hahaaa!
