Today marks the end of the 9 day trend of macro nutrient manipulation of variably increasing carbohydrates, adjusting protein/fats, and calories.
I now enter a Glucose Depletion Phase.
Which I utterly dislike with a passion. At the same time I love it (yea know...LOL).
This phase really tests my mental boundaries and capabilities, and for this, I love it. I always learn something about myself.
The only difference in training, are the rep ranges, and some modifications in how many sets are completed. I tend to get a bit sore each time, but this isn't that unusual.
I generally do a FBW, but I have performed splits in the past (because of work and lifestyle changes, etc).
Performed....in 2-consecutive days. There are no cardio-like activities within this period.
Each body part get rep ranges of about 15 reps. Most body parts get about 6 sets, with the exception of Biceps and Triceps (4). I generally use between 60-65% of my max range, and rest periods vary between 90 seconds to 120 seconds. So you understand: With both FBW's this is a total of 12/8 sets combined.
The first day is generally "better" than the second, because my glucose stores are most full at the time. It is the second one that tends to "want to try" to beat me up a tad
)). When I train, I look for the "burn" because in this type of training (IMO), it is important that it tends to exposed its painful self in full force, and it's not a pleasant experience.....But, I rock, nonetheless (I tend to dream of the approximate 4,000 calorie days forthcoming, lol).
As far as calories and macros: I keep fats to about 200-400 calories of my total intake (something like 20 to 40 grams). Carbohydrates are about 50 grams, and the rest in Protein. Calories around the 1700.
Just a brief Synopsis.
I am off today at work, so I plan to start the depletion workout, about 1PM (my time). 2morrow I am off work as well, and will start the second depletion at about the same time. Oh what fun is coming..........Yippie!
Hell YEA........I own pain. It doesn't own me.
Best wishes,
Chillen
