Cecilia's Resolve

I think tea has alot less caffine than coffee, but I heard on the news yesterday that coffee can cut your risk of cirossis of the liver.

but then again right after that story was one that said something in beer (hops I think) can cut your risk of prostate cancer. You only have to drink 17 glasses of beer a day.

So who knows

I just feel better when I cut back on caffeine, and even better when I have barely any. It feels horrible for a week, but then later it gets so much better...totally worth it...

Another thing I've quit is diet soda (well not completely cut out, more like cut back...I love it :( )

Yesterday was pretty good:

Bfast

Plain, fat-free yogurt with blueberries and all-bran cereal

Snack

carrots

Lunch

Whole-wheat pita with vinagretted tomato and turkey (may sound repetitive day after day, but I never get tired of it! I toast the pita so long that it gets crunchy...yum!)

Snack

Apple

Dinner

Whole-wheat pasta (rotini) with mozarella, tomato and broccoli (i LOVE it and my mom made it for dinner...I couldn;t refuse... )
Then I had a bit too much fruit salad...:( ...but at least it was fruit salad..

I also ran 3 miles and did 20 minutes of toning...

I'll come back in a bi and enter today's food...I tend to be a day behind in posting...:D

Wow Cecillia, I wish I could stand to eat too much fruit. Actually, I'm not allowed to have any for 2 weeks so all of a sudden I'm craving it. Keep up the good work.

Pretty good...

Bfast

Plain, fat-free yogurt with strawberries and all-bran cereal

Snack

carrots

Lunch

Whole-wheat pita with tomato, turkey and oregano

Snack

apple

Dinner

2 tacos
fruit salad...

Went a bit overboard at dinner :( This seems to be a trend...

Wow, I almost ate the same things today as yesterday...

I think it's because till I feel comfortable and "stuck" in my healthy life-style I'd rather sticxk to those things I know I like rather than experiment...

I ran a bit today, worked out, went into the pool for 20 minutes and toned...:)

Hi there Cecilia. I just finished reading your journal... I enjoyed it. You have a great attitude and I admire your long runs!! When I was younger, and lighter, I used to love to run... now I just spin! ha ha:)
You are doing great! Keep up that wonderful outlook in life!!!
You have yourself a beautiful day!:p

Hey ciaoana,

Thanks for commenting!

Last summer, in my first ever real "weight loss effort", l lost more than 15 pounds - and not by changing my diet but by spinning...

Now running has taken over though...:D

You seem to be doing really well. Your attitude is fantastic and I know that you will accomplish your goals! You have all of us to cheer you on!

Don't beat yourself up about the mistakes, just focus on the moment you are in. What can you do right now that helps you reach your goals? Sometimes it's only drink a glass of water, but I find it helps me to refocus when I get a bit off-track. Keep going, keep posting! We've got your back!

wow 15 pounds just from spinning? *runs to the gym and signs up*

i'm definately going to have to try that out--how often did you do it a week??

i TOTALLY know about your addiction to fruit. everytime i walk past the fridge, i can't help but grab a couple grapes or an apple. i'm in love with fresh fruit. i can't go a day without eating a huge apple or a banana. but hey, at least we're craving that healthy stuff and not danishes/donuts right?

sillygirl - THANK YOU! The support is incredible, and having you and the others behind me is going to make the difference this time :) :)

summerbreeze: I did it 4 times a week...a bit obsessively too, because I'd bike there and back

Bfast

Plain fat free yogurt with strawberries and all-bran cereal

Snack:

carrot

Lunch:

Whole-wheat pita with ham and tomato

Snack:

Celery and cottage cheese

Dinner

3 home-made ravioli (they're HUGE) and a peach

I'm so proud of myself this dinner-time...:D

I love my mom's food, and those ravioli are AMAZING. Usually we have about 5 or 6 on each plate (how does the rest of my family eat this, maybe more, then dessert, and still stay SO THIN?? )

Well, I had been drinking water for a few hours beforehand...by the first ravioli I was already pretty satisfied, by the second very satisfied, and I kind of ate the third just to have the feeling that I ate dinner...

And then the juicest, most aromatic peach I've ever had....:p yum

I ran 3 miles and did 20 minutes of toning...

Overall, a pretty good day :)

And I'm more than half-way to my first mini-goal (aka no binging, healthy eating and excercise every day)...it feels so much better

Your doing great! Your making me hungry for that homemade ravioli, but you are staying strong. It is so nice when the food you eat tastes so good, isn't it?

Hey Cecilia! Sounds like you had a great day! And you should be really proud of making it half-way towards your mini goal...that's awesome! All of the little things you do along the way add up and make all the difference.

And wow...15 pounds from spinning!? Whoa! Haha...that's awesome. I'd totally try it out..but in all honesty...I'm a bit "gymphobic".

Hope you have a nice remainder of the day!

Great job cecilia! I know eating with the family can be difficult so Bravo for you trying to eat better portion sizes. Maybe you can find some healthy recipes your Mom would be willing to try out. Either way...you have made such good choices....YAY I am cheering for you!!!

You have a way of making fruit sound so delicious- I wish I would have brought a peach instead of a pear to work with me now. You are doing a great job on your way towards your first mini-goal- I'm proud of you! Keep up the good work :)

Hehehe...maybe I should become a poet describing the wonders of water, fruit and vegetables in verse...people will HAVE to become healthier after reading it :p

Anyway, by inspiration of some people on this board, I'm off to bike a bit...to the public library and back (no clue how many miles) since today's my day off from running...

Ciao! :D
