Cate's Diary

I have had a good day today. I did some really big cleaning jobs, including the range hood & lots of de-cobwebbing. I consumed no wine & have finished the day on 1228 cals. I have set my calorie limit at 1250. I have a 379 deficit with my Fitbit steps.
I also rang my sister.
Happy with my day.

Great work! I don't plan to be quite so active but I do hope to pick some inspiration.

Rabbit curry sounds divine! Congrats on your cleanup project - autumn cleanup in your location of course. I plan to wash all my windows once the snow has melted and temps no longer drop below zero. Take care!

Cate, you should be very satisfied with how you did, Kudos on the range hood, I did mine earlier this week, after I took out the filters I was shocked at how much grease was just all over everything, it took me a log time to clean it. UGH on cobwebs, I always think I keep a clean house but the light will hit a corner just right and highlight the darn things, usually when I have company.

Wow, sorry I missed so much of your week. Glad the heart apt. went well and that you are back on track. I was feeling a bit lonely and blue this week, too. Glad you are feeling better!!

I think we do that often. I get a lot of inspiration & encouragement from my forum buddies.

Thanks, Floater. It was delicious. I'll do some more cleaning today & some gardening I think as well.

Thanks, Ann. You inspired me to check out the range hood. Ugh indeed. It took me ages. It's very awkward to get at. Most of the cobwebs were outside & under our entrance veranda, which is quite large & has lots of beams. We get a lot as it's a stone house with lots of timber. Our spiders are quite creative & I can never get on top of the cobwebs. I don't stress about it too much as our house is "rustic" & tucked away in the bush.

Hi, hon. Don't apologise for being a bit lonely & down. We can't help it. I just get so unsettled sometimes. G played golf at the local club & came home & told me how many people asked after me. I have to stop myself from retreating into myself. I used to be a very sociable, outgoing person.

Yesterday-
I did a little gardening, some housework & we attempted some house repairs. Just about everything we tried to do was a grumpy failure & I called myself an idiot twice. G tried to jump lead the old ute again to go & cut some wood but couldn't get it going. We ended up sitting outside sharing a bottle of sparkling wine after admitting defeat. We did get some good things done, including a nice long walk with Archie (me). I felt a bit defeated yesterday.
I have woken feeling ok again after another really good night's sleep. I don't think I will go anywhere again today but instead will take some photos & list a few things I want to sell to get them out of the garage. Ruby is much bigger than my little car & takes up almost all of the garage. I need some space.
Tomorrow I will go into town & do the river walk with Arch as G is playing golf again. Today I'll head off for a walk & get G to pick me up when I have gone far enough. It's a very overcast miserable looking day.

I hope you find something nice and satisfying to do. Maybe you are a bit bored and need a change of scenery or a new hobby? We just went out of town and it felt so good just to do something different. I hope you have a lovely river walk!

Some days are just like that: nothing works the way it should and everything is frustrating. But how nice that you and G are able to admit that and relax together.

Thanks, Marsia. I did have a chat with G about not going on about stuff that needs doing as I find it overwhelming. We have a lovely house. It just needs some attention, but nothing major. I probably do need a hobby. I know I need to get out & about more.

You do just have those days, LaMa. It is nice that we can relax together. I didn't tackle anything major yesterday, but had an active day & relaxed at the end with a no alcohol sparkling wine.
I have not been keeping up with diaries as much as usual, you might want to give me a yell if you make it to Queensland.
We're booked for Queensland in early June, Tru, but will be only at Townsville. G will be tied up each day playing golf in our Nats. It's a long, long way to where you are, unfortunately!

I'm going into town today, for sure.

Yep, Townsville is a bit of distance away, last time I went to Townsville I drove south to Bris then flew north.

I have only been to Tassie once, would love to go back permanently, better climate down there for me :)
I have a jumper on this morning. Autumn has officially arrived :)

I had a miserable day yesterday & it's best forgotten. I was dressed ready to go into our local town & it started raining & didn't stop until about 4.30 pm. I rang a friend who I thought I would go visit even though it was raining & she was at the hairdresser's & said she would ring me back in 3 minutes, so I started a boring job I have been putting off. 2 hours later I gave up on that. I did get a lot of it done. She remembered to ring me back at about 8 pm. I really had the miseries yesterday.
G didn't get home until after 5 pm & I felt ok by then.
I didn't have any wine again, but did have 4 squares of dark chocolate & some sultanas mid-afternoon, felt like more & didn't have any.
I'm about to head to the ophthalmologist for a final check-up & my right eye is a bit red. I may need to keep putting drops in or get different ones.

It'll be so so wonderful when your doctor visits are over and you are seeing and walking better. I hope you can find a really low impact form of exercise that helps you feel really good and is fun to do (something like putting on dancing exercise video maybe?). That stinks that your friend forgot to call back. Can you get G to drive you to a picnic on a lovely beach or something nice soon? Do you get fall colors there where you can go for a drive and look at the leaves changing?

Anyway, so good you avoided the alcohol!! Hugs!!!

Sorry for the miseries, but they do make us appreciate the better days. Seems odd to hear that autumn has arrived for you as I just barely got spring. On a good note, you did at least start a job you wanted to get done, so it is partly done. Some days that is as good as it gets.

I have a jumper on this morning. Autumn has officially arrived :)

I am in shorts and t-shirt with the AC on, I think the only time I wear a jumper up here is if I want to stop people asking if I am cold lol Queenslanders do not know what cold is, I have been up here over 20 years now and have still not adapted to the heat.

Thanks, Marsia. I read your post in the waiting room & the outcome was that we bought sushi & sat in a lovely park (a village green) on the way home at a picnic table & ate it. We had a nice day, including visiting L, G's sister & having a look at her new place along the way. Our area has lots of English trees so we'll have lots of autumn colours soon, including on the river walk.
I went out with G last night to watch his pool team play in a final. I really didn't enjoy it at all & would much rather stay at home. It was a very blokey night & took me back to the many nights in the pub that I am happy to put in the past.
I got on the scales this morning & I have jumped up. I am paying more attention from now on. I want to lose 4 kg in the next 2 months, so that's 6. I will need to wear summer clothes in Q'land in June. I will take my bathers, but most probably won't wear them.
