Cate's Diary

Being part of a team is amazing. I’ve played twice as part of the tennis team, even though I’m not great, and it is such a rewarding experience. Go for it!
It won't work for this year as the men play a 3-day comp & for the women, only 2 are a proper comp & the 3rd day is a fun day. I'm quite relieved.
oh dear :( have a good rest Cate.
I do feel much better this morning, thanks, Liza. I'm very weary though. My feet were throbbing last night.

Yesterday was just too hard for me & I won't do that again. I am hoping that all of this extra exercise lately & coming up in Victoria might boost my metabolism a bit & I can get my weight moving back down again.

It should do something at least! Always such a long slog to get down and so quick to go up...

My body holds on fast to every gram of fat. I'm seeing a physio next week & asking for help with strength training to build muscle, being careful with my ascending aorta aneurysm.
I'm glad you're feeling better. Throbbing feet and exhaustion is never fun.
Thank you, Liza. I have really had a quiet lazy day today & can feel my batteries recharging. G & I are going out tomorrow after his doctor's ap't to play 9 holes of golf with I (T will be working).
I had planned on stripping our bed totally & washing everything, but only if I bathed Arch & I had zero interest in doing any housework today. I did repot a few plants & took Arch for a walk & did some washing & some dishes & that's it I think. Maybe Friday....We don't have many commitments between now & Friday of next week when we will be on a ship to the mainland. I'll try to keep it that way :)

Sometimes rest is more urgent than clean sheets 🤷‍♀️ Glad you're feeling better. Is the boat trip next week for the golf outing?

It is Llama. We'll be away for 10 nights, 2 of these on the ship. I'm looking forward to it. I don't like leaving Arch but the kennels will look after him well I know. It should be a fun trip & I can play as little or as much golf as I like, especially now that I am not feeling so much pressure as part of a representative team. I aim to have fun & enjoy it.

That sounds like such a good day. Peaceful, restful but gently productive too.

That is so good to have that pressure off and to be able to just enjoy the golfing!

I mean, I've never owned a dog so I haven't dug too far into their psychology, but I also think Archie might have fun on his hols at the kennels also. I'm not a pet person really, but I also think dogs might have their own thing going on that we don't know about, haha.

Haha. I think Arch would be happier at the kennels having company than if he was left at home all day every day, but I'm only guessing. He has a very good life & lately he has spent more time alone at home, while we play golf. He goes crazy when we get home, but settles down fairly quickly.

We played 9 holes with our friend, plus a friend of his who's a bit of a grumpy old bugger. Afterwards, we had a picnic, which I had prepared. It was lovely.
We had done some shopping beforehand for the next week & G had a doctor's ap't.

I love the picknick after golf idea: I'm sure the things you bring are nicer, healthier, AND allergy safer than whatever you can get at the clubhouse.

It would be nice if our dogs could talk sometimes...although i guess they have their own way of telling us what's going on for them...I hope Archie does have a fun holiday at the kennels--like a kid going off to camp! :)
Golf and a picnic sounds so lovely. I love hearing how much you are enjoying your golfing these days Cate!

Thanks, Llama & Liza.
I am so glad that I am back to playing golf again. It is so good for me & I think I had forgotten that. Not being tangled up with the women, but being able to get along with them is good too. I can't imagine going back to playing every week with them. I think I'll probably play in more Saturday games, especially team events where I can play with G & I & T.
Only one week to go until we head off. I have zero commitments in the meantime. I think I will play in one more chook run. I won another one yesterday :)

:rotflmao: You'll have chicken coming out of your ears! So glad to hear you're enjoying golf without all the club stress though :beating:

Thanks, Llama xo
I had a woeful night's sleep last night & was awake for about 2 hours at 2 am. I wasn't worrying about anything I was just wide awake.

Thanks, Llama & Liza. It is weird when it happens. My sleep is out of whack at the moment. I had a decent night last night, but at 8.20 am I could go back to sleep again.
