Okay so here goes....:p

My name is Carla and I just joined the forum today, but I have been trying to lose weight for the past month and a half.

Starting Weight: 222 lbs
Current Weight (Jan. 19): 210 lbs
Goal Weight: 170 lbs
height 5 10

So I have lost 12 lbs so far, and I cannot believe that I could even do that, but I guess anything is possible. My secret is just taking it day by day. And it has been working so far, so I guess I will keep going with that!

I go to the gym 5-6 times a week (which includes a personal trainer 2 times a week, 3 days of just cardio, and a day on weights by myself)

I began my personal training last week, and in only a week I have lost 12 lbs, and that was measured my their scales, still cant believe it, but it motivates me pretty good!! Hard work pays off.

And I can actually say that I do like the gym, I find it very calm and relaxing.

And as far as healthy eating goes....I have totally changed my eating habits, a little at a time.

No more eating out was the big one for me, but keeping it for special occasions makes me enjoy it better.

The only problem I have been having is drinking lots of water, I am just not a water lover, but I am getting used to it!

So thats it for me tonight, I cant wait to start chatting with some of the great people on this forum, because it seems to be a great place to get support!

Glad that you found the forum, and major congrats are in order for your loss!!!! wow, that is amazing, stupendous, incredible even!

Knock around the place and read up on what others are doing, just jump right in on different diaries, that is what I did! Great great group of people here, and congratulations on starting off on such a great note!

thanks! ya when I take on something, I totally get serious with it, the thing is, is that I have always tried diets before, which never work, so this time I am just picking healthier choices, and smaller portions of what I ate before! found it pretty good to stick by.

Okay so its a new day!!

Feeling tired today, didnt get to sleep until late last night, and its Friday! I have a personal training session tonight @ 6....gonna be a tough one for sure! but its worth it if I keep getting results!

So here is my food/drink intake for the day so far:

-Bowl of Special K
-with 1% Milk
-one litre of water so far
-meat loaf lean cusine
-rice/chicken breast
-1/2 cup strawberries
-1/2 cup pinapple

and tonight I will be having 2 coolers!! both are 100 calories each

I will keep adding what I ate later

Wow -- 12 pounds in one week? Thats awesome! Keep up the great work! Sounds like the personal trainer is well worth it.

I am with you on the whole water thing. I have trouble drinking enough water too. I am making a real effort to drink more everyday, because everyone says it will really help with weight loss. Plus, I guess its healthier than most alternatives.

Glad you joined the forums. :)

Hi! and welcome. I am starting off just about the same as you SW:220 CW:209 GW: 145 and 5' 8". It sounds like you are really motivated in doing this!! That's awesome!!

If you are ever having a low day, come here and get some inspiration. Everbody has been absolutely wonderful since I started my weight loss journal too.

I will come back and see whats up tomorrow. Have a great workout tonight!!

yup you guys are all great! I wish I had found this place a long time ago! yup skinnykate the trainer is worth everypenny, I have been saving a couple of months to get one, I am on a tight budget going to school and working parttime. but she makes me work, and its good knowing I am doing the excercises the right way to get the best results
 
So here it is Saturday, Jan 21st.....930 am here in newfoundland. I am just up getting ready to head out to work....I thought I would right down what I have had for breakfast...

-special k red berries
-1% milk
-a nice chicken ceasar salal with grilled chicken breast (it was great!)
-a diet coke
-2 coors light tonight (I was at a hockey game, couldnt resist!)

And what a workout I had yesturday with my personal trainer, whoa. It was really hard, but worth it. I told her about this forum, and she thinks its a great idea!
so thats it for now....off to clean some dirty hotel rooms!!

So I just got back from the hockey game...had 2 beer there...hehehe. I will never torchure myself, I enjoy a beer now and then!

I was thinking tonight that I was going to start taking Xenadrine. I have an almost full bottle from a few months ago. I used to take it, but I found I used to get really bad heart burn from the pills.

So I think I will begin taking them again.....I found they gave me a real boost for the day, so no harm in starting them again.

I will try anything to get a good boost right now, and try to get under the 200mark, thats my goal right now....

well I am off to bed!! Early night for me, but I need some sleep
 
hey canadian girl!

Sounds like the training is doing well! Have you tried taking some pills like the cheap version of pepcid ac for the heartburn? Girl, youre gonna get to that goal in no time!
 
Good morning...well I should say afternoon, because it is 12pm here now. I got to sleep in today, I cant believe it. A day off work, its great to be able to sleep in!

So I am now eating my breakfast! (really my lunch)

-about 2 cups of mixed fresh fruit (grapes,strawberries, pineapple, cantelope,)
- strawberry yogurt (2 tablespoons)
-stick of fat free cheese
-mixed veggies (cauliflower, brocoli, carrots, and celery)
-fat free ranch dressing (2 tablespoons)
-4 whole wheat melba toast

I am eating a big meal because I wanna feel full, we are going out to a hockey game at 2pm, and I dont want to be hungry there because, we all no there isnt any healthy food at hockey games!! (fries, nachos, hotdogs, pepsi)

So I wanna be full before I go, then I have nothing to worry about, just get a bottle of water down there.

I wont be hitting the gym today, but I am hard at it again tomorrow with my personal trainer....and my 30 min cardio.

So thats it for now, I am off to eat!!

So I was just adding up my calorie intake for the day....and I mostly ate veggies and fruit for the day..........and all my calories only add up too 600. Which I cant believe because I am full, not hungry. I know I should be eating more, but I cant! I will drink some more water.
 
you know what, i say its better to listen to your body. if your body registers 'full' and thats all you can eat, then thats all you can eat! like for me, i just use 1200 for a base, and sometimes im a tad over, sometimes under. it all works out tho.
