Bride 2 Be Thread For Bridal Info And Support!

I'm October 20th, so I have a few extra than you girls to shed the pounds, though I'm hoping to lose most of it over the summer when I have the chance to be more active!

I love the idea of fall weddings, what colours are your bridesmaids dresses? Mine are a nice cinnamon colour (reddish brown).

Had a healthy day today :D Except for some thai left overs for dinner ,but not too bad (noodles).

~Nic~

PS: LOVE the dress photos! What a beautiful dress!

I love fall weddings as well- my Welshman is wearing a kilt so we were fairly limited in our bridesmaid dress colors.. With that said, the girls are in lovely black silk taffeta ball gowns- they're stunning and don't really resemble bridesmaid dresses, which I love! Our flowers are ivory roses with greens and our main colors are ivory, black and some red- very classy but simple! We are giving Welsh lovespoons as our wedding favors!

What about you- what are your themes, flowers, etc.?

I know...weird...right? That's by Swansea! I know where that is. it's only like an hour away from Clearwell! GORGEOUS place!

I was DJing at Geisha House here in Hollywood and Pete came in with his band while they were on tour. He liked my music and we stated chatting. Then emailing. Same thing...just popped into my life!

I flew over to visit and he proposed! We still don't live together, or even in the same country, but we visit each other for weeks/months on end as often as we can. I am moving to the UK for the first year, and then after that we might move to Berlin, or maybe back here to California.

We don't have much in the way of registries, as I am 36 and have EVERYTHING I need already...but we did register under HoneyMoney.co.uk. That is a cute service where you can "register" for anything you'd like. You fill out the forms and on each line it lists your entries as you have typed them, just like a normal registry. Only, when they "buy" something from it, the money is kept in an account for you and then you get a check all at once to spend yourself. It's for your honeymoon...but you can use it however you want. Check ours out. We also have a lot of photo albums at the end with tons of great pics!!

It's funny how these things happen, isnt it? Well we will soon both be on the same side of the pond [and in very close proximity] so we had best meet up at some point to discuss wedding things- I can't believe the coincidence, my friend!

I'm moving to Wales but he will be relocated in November so we may move to Glasgow for two years. Ultimately, we'll be living in Wales in a few years time.

I'm only 23 and he's been single and in the Armed Forces for a long time so we are starting out with next to nothing! However, considering the price of shipping the whole gift registry thing has been an absolute nightmare! But, we're dealing:) How many people are attending your wedding? I want all the details- I'm so excited; I love weddings!

OOhh sunshine..that sounds gorgeousl!

My bridesmaids are all in floorlength black dresses of their choice with a slightly Victorian or Eduardian flair. I'm making crystal jewelry for them in cranberry, platinum and dark brown so they'll all be tied in together. They all all different heights and sizes so I want them to wear something that will flatter then each individually. I'm going for Autumn colors too but no orangey stuff. Pink too though! The flowers are chocolate cosmos, burgundy David Austin roses, fushia and cerise peonies and irish bells. The tablecloths are copper silk. I hope the leaves turn, but if this past year is any indication, it will all still be green.

yes, the wedding website is a great idea. it's FREE and it helps with getting information to everyone since they are all in places all over the world. There is a better one than mine at theknot.com. I didn't know about it when I made mine. Mine looks all screwy on a mac computer (which everyone I know has) because Wedding Channel didn't format it correctly. But making a site is just the coolest and most practical thing to do!

AND YOUR BRIDESMAIDS ARE IN BLACK ALSO? WE ARE THE SAME BLOODY PERSON! What are the odds? Honestly?

lol, you two really are like twins seperated at birth!! It's crazy! lol.

So it's snowing here...It's April, we are supposed to be getting warm weather and flowers, not snow. .. . argh.

Anyway, hope you ladies have a great night! I'm crashing into bed early as I'm fending off a cold!
Nighty night!

OOH!! your dresses sound great too!!! I love the idea of them not looking like bridesmaids dresses at all. That was more or less my thought too. I want them to coordinate...but not necessarity look like bridesmaids. I love the tartan too! Some of my Scottish relatives are arriving in full dress.

Check out John Lewis and House of Frasier for registeries (UK shops.) They're really nice and you can pick the stuff out online.

We definately have to hang out! I'm moving over in August!

MY DEAR GOD- WHEN IN AUGUST? I think I'm moving over August 13th-ish- no definite date yet. I don't believe this! Are you moving over on the fiance visa where you can't work forever!? It's going to be such a pain financially.

I don't believe our similarities! It really is crazy. The scottish relatives in full dress will be really nice!

I just registered on the knot.com under Rebecca Bresler- check it out! Take care and goodnight ladies!

Oh, here are also some close-up detail shots. You couldn't really see the texture on the other ones and I feel that's what makes the dress!

:)

We're even leaving the same week- how freaking weird is this~! Are you going over on the fiance visa?

Where exactly will you be living in the UK? Where is yourf iance based?

I don't blieve these similarities! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hey Yoga!! TOTALLY MISS YOU!! I feel when you are here I have to "be good"...so come back soon!

Becka!! Yes, this is truly kismet...I'm glad I decided to come here and you re the affirmation of that. I feel that I can't let you down EITHER...so I will work had for the BOTH of us. It's just so peculiar...all our similarities.

Pete lives in Nottingham, (originally from Liverpool,) but we were both really charmed with that part of the UK...so we decided to get married there. It all started when we were making plans and I said that I just wanted to have a big party. A house party...like a kegger...with all our friends there, interrupted for 15 minutes by some vowing, and then back to the party. Then everyone could pass out on the couch. He laughed and said "yeah..perfect..but with all our lot....we'd need a big place. We'd need...like a CASTLE or something...." There was about 30 seconds of silence while we looked at each other strangely..and then we both were like..."hell yeah!!!!!"

So we found Clearwell Castle and rented. Everybody can sleep in one of the bedrooms. We'l have breakfast and croquet on the lawn the next day!

I HOPE HOPE HOPE that out weekend has great weather! We chose it because statistically it has the least amount of rainfall. I wanted an autumn wedding because I want NO SWEATING. I'm wearing 15lbs of underwear people....I don't wanna be hot. or anyone else. June wedding? Not for me, I want everyone comfortable!

Becka..when you reply...erase my photo tags from the bottom part of your post box or they will just show up again. (and my previous post too unless you are referring to a particular quote) I'm alredy pic happy enough!! I think you can go back and edit your previous posts if you want to get rid of all those extra wedding dresses!! LOL

OH yeah...and YES..I am getting the fiancé visa...what exacly does that do for you? You can already stay there for 6 months on a tourist visa....

You can't work so it's pretty much the same, I can't see what it does differently, but I was told that getting a spousal visa afterwards was easier if you have the fiancé first. I have been over about 7 times since I met Pete and they hassle me at customs about the sheer number of times I go...but they can't stop me. But in August I will lay my $1,200 down and get the darn proper visa.

POO!

I couldnt agree more about the weather- you just never know with the UK! I wanted a horse and carriage more than anything but I'm just so concerned that the weather will not cooperate and it would be a wasted effort@!

Thats such a lovely story about how you came about finding the castle for your wedding- i can't wait to see photos!

I know, the fiance visa is such a pain. I was just given mine a few weeks ago- the amount of paperwork from your fiance/his family that is required is inane- absolutely ridiculous! Let me know if you need any assistance as I just went through the whole process- thankfully, I'm a Daddys Little Girl and he sympathized with my dire financial situation and paid for my visa! Another $1200 for the marriage visa though- I cant believe it!

How was your day today? how's the eating plan! Speak soon twin! xo

The day is going great! It's an all fruit day, except for a sandwich for the first meal. It's mega windy so I had to cut my walk short because I was getting sand and ash in my eyes (there was a big fire last week.)

plese tell me EVERYTHING sbout the visa process...I have my meeting in July and need to be prepared!!

I HAD to have a horse and carriage!!! I can give you all my research if you'd like. We chose this one:

It's the Ivory Coach and we have 2 black horses pulling it.

It's great because even if it rains it's like a little house!! This company we chose has fantastic landeaus as well which are "convertibles" so they are fully covered but more open than mine. They are still good for the rain and the lanterns on the side will look cool in the mist. The owner Maria is just so sweet and nice and they really work with you. They're the best ones in my opinion as they rent to movie makers and have had their carriages in many well-known films. Their foormen come dressed in very tasteful period costume and the horses are perfect too. it's all about the aesthetics. Their website is:

Gotta have the princess fairytale...right?

So I just spent the last twenty minutes researching the horse/carriage ordeal:) Do you have an email for Benford, as there is only a telephone number? Also, would you mind sharing the approximate prices as they arent listed? I've revamped my fairy-tale dream and am really considering going back to my horse and carriage!

As far as the visa process, I'll write you a long and thorough email this weekend to simplify the process for you as all the websites make it quite confusing. Why are you meeting for it- i just placed mine in the post! Yay, i'm so excited that we have met one another!

Hey Sunshine- no word from you today! I want to hear more about your wedding- where are you getting married, etc. Hope you had a great day!

Oh, there is an office here and you just bring all your paperwork there, have a meeting withe a respresentative and they give you the visa on the spot. I didn't know you could do it through the mail. I'll look forward to reding your info after the weekend!!

We are paying £1000 for our coach and coachmen. Pricy, yes, but we are using them for over 4 hours. I think you have to pay for the block anyway even if you don't use it. We are using them to carry some of my family from the hotel prior to the ceremony. it's only through the trees into the village...about a 7 minute walk...but how cool will it be to arrive in a carriage?

The other ones are only £800 each, but ours is a little more fancy.

This is a mom and pop operation. The father was a horseman in the Queen's Guard and his daughter runs this company now. It's very regal. They do not really email, BUT...her daughter has an email address and she will get the message. I suggest you just call her though. If you have Vonage it will be free!

Here are 2 other companies called KCHorse Rescue and Elegant Carriages but I didn't think they looked as nice. I have some more on hand at home I can send you later.
