Brag on

Congrats 1000monkeys. It's always nice to discover you are wearing a smaller size than you thought!!

I saw your drumming thread (that was you, wasn't it?). My BF played drums for 20 plus years and drumming is definitely one hell of a workout!

Yeah that was me. Not only is it a hell of a workout, but it's great fun too so it's something that you don't mind doing and kind of lose track of time doing.

It's like people always say in relation to exercise, find something you like doing and do it!

Think I'll keep one pair of old jeans though, just so when I reach my goal I can take one of those cheesy pics of me in the old jeans, stretching out the waist, shit-eating grin on my face :D
I have one pair of pants from my heaviest weight - and both legs can fit into one leg of the pants... Do hold on to those pants because I swear there are some days i don't think I've lost weight - and I look at those pants and say -w ell maybe :D

Went swimming yesterday for the first time in seven years. Felt great. Forgotten how much I loved being in the water.

I've made it 3wks without giving up on my excercises! My only food breakdown within the last 2 weeks was a chicken strip meal and I didnt even eat all the strips lol. Small steps....

I seem to be doing a lot of bragging lately, but ...

Today I did 5k on the treadmill at my gym. I did once do a 5 mile outdoor run when I was a teenager, but I was a teenager then! I know it's not a huge distance but I'm pretty proud of it. If anyone had told me that I would be over 80lbs down and able to do 5k seven or eight months ago I'd have laughed in their face!

There was a little speed walking involved but mostly jogging and running (alternating between the two). So I guess I'll be back to brag some more when I can run the whole thing non-stop.

Also, sorry if this should have gone in the Couch to 5k thread, but I wasn't following that programme so I thought that might be a little inappropriate.

Finally made it under 200 kgs. Highest weight was 229 kgs (504.8 lbs), now down to 199.5 kgs (439.8 lb). I'm pretty stoked, as this was a huge milestone for me :)

i lost over 100lbs, 101 to be exact. took about a year and a half and god knows how many miles on the treadmill, but i did it. was 284lbs and am now 183lbs.

:jump: I'm bragging about this one. Tonight I jumped rope and made 10,000 jumps. It took one hour and nine minutes. I really didn't think I'd be able to do it this month, but I really pushed and did it. :hurray:

I'm impressed! Jumping is one of the most difficult exercises to sustain for a long period of time IMO.

i think i did the same thing at the same point lol :D
I sat at 99 for ages and then jumped to 101 :D:D

Congrats dude!

It's great seeing all the success stories here! I used to lurk on this board when I was really struggling, and it helped me out a lot. I'm proud to say that after years of struggling, I'm back down to my college "fighting" weight!
I have a real problem with anesthetics, so I could never bring myself to go under for a bypass, so I really struggled with my weight. A had a lot of success with that low level laser treatment (which worked well for me, since I didn't have to go under), and a lot of work with my diet and plenty of cardio!
