Brag on

I hit my goal weight over the weekend, over a month ahead of the time I had originally planned to hit it. I then exceeded it. I weighed in at 149.2 this morning. That's over 107 pounds lost.

I finally donated a kidney to my brother. I had to lose 160lb to do this.

Wishes, you both received New lives because of what you gave. Great for him and great for you. My friend's dad has a new kidney and the just celebrated his kidney's first Birthday. :)

Wow...I had no idea that was an impetus for your weight loss. I do remember seeing your glamour shots after your weight loss, but I didn't know about the organ donation!

Congrats to the both of ya!

Happy kidney birthdays to you all!!

At work, we wear these completely unflattering dark blue polos. A co-worker today asked me if I had been losing weight :willy_nilly: It made me SO happy...I haven't noticed much change at all, but for someone to be able to notice weight loss despite the fact that I'm wearing something that isn't flattering at all is awesome!!

Well I don't think anyone will ever top a kidney donation!

Amazing job Wishes!!!!!

But I have two things that I just kinda had to brag about that really cheered me up!

1. I went back to a run/walk/biking trail I hadn't visited since the fall. I had ran this trail many different times in my struggles to loose weight and would always go a little over halfway and turn around. I would always take a few walking breaks between the run too. This time when I went back.... I jogged the whole trail! there and back! about 6 miles with only stopping once for about 3 minutes. I'm still amazed at the new things I can do.

2. I had a score to settle with "Hollister" the clothing store. About a two months ago I had already lost a significant amount of weight and was really excited that I was fitting into Large sized shirts and even some medium shirts at most of the places I went to (American Eagle, Aeropostale, Gap, Old Navy... etc). Then I went to Hollister and I was pretty angry when I tried on a few XL shirts and they were way too tight. (What is up with their sizes). So I went back recently and was shocked! I could fit into a size 31 shorts comfortably and finally fit into their medium/large shirts! It felt great. TAKE THAT HOLLISTER :boxing:

I have just seen this and have to say that it is one of the most amazing things that I have seen on this forum.

I have immense respect for you having done this.

First 10% gone!

I've hit my first milestone! I started at 360 and weighed in yesterday morning at 324, for a loss of 10% of total body weight! (36 lbs) If I repeat the feat 5 more times, I'll be under 200lbs for the first time since I was very, very young!

Well, I have a few things I'd like to share.

1. I've been keeping on track with my lifestyle change for 3 months. I feel that it is a good start.

2. In that time, I have lost 39 pounds, going from 311 to 272.

3. I've lost 6 inches from my chest, 6.5" from my waist, and 3" off my hips (guess that means I still have a huge butt)

4. My fitness has improved quite a bit. That part is harder to quantify, but I was quite proud of myself yesterday for being able to go up - and down - 300 flights of stairs in an hour, and even better not being totally dead afterwards. I can swim for 45 minutes, walk a 10k in an hour and a half, and lift more weight than I could 3 months ago. It's all good.

Wow... awesome!
