bluehats diary

I'm up to 6 songs but not daily.
Not sure how many I'm aiming for. Maybe just keep adding 1 at a time. See what happens.
And I eat once a day at 5pm.
Eating once makes you feel like you had more food as opposed to many tiny meals that leave you still hungry.

Well I lost a few pounds again. Now down to 250.8.
But the worst part is that I felt better heavier.
Since losing weight some of my health is actually worse.
Not much I can do I guess.

It's that time of year again.
My feet and legs are swelling as they do in the hotter weather.
I try really hard to get thru 5 songs now. Not sure for how much longer before I retire the music until Sept.
I still need socks on my injured toe when going out and the socks leave a painful mark now.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm wearing huge shoes to accommodate the swelling but the socks are so tight.

So I'm practicing going up and down our stairs instead of the elevator. That's very hard on the knees but I'm moving in Aug and have stairs to use every day. So no dancing/marching til later in the summer if the swelling let's me.

Good for you with the stairs Bluehat. That sounds tough with the swelling :( I hope you can find some good sock and shoe solutions that are comfortable.

Hey Blue, I am happy to see you still posting, and making some good progress! Good for you!
I am able to wear pants 2 sizes smaller and tops 1 size smaller.
Impressive!!

Not sure what to say about your leg swelling. Since my knee surgery my ankles swell a little. Dr suggested I do some calf exercises, I have been but not sure it helps. @Llama might have some exercise suggestions.

Have you tried diabetic socks, they expand better and are less restrictive. I don't have diabetes but have worn the socks for years, just more comfortable.

Yes I have some. They do stretch better.

My new med for high cholesterol has my legs very stiff and sore. Haven't been able to dance or do stairs for a few days.
I wonder too if the extra soreness is from doing exercise on the swelling.
This coming week is supposed to be a little cooler so maybe some will go down enough to do some stairs. The back of my calves also bang the steps going down them.
I don't really want to be crawling up and sliding down my stairs in my new place in August!!

As you say stretching could help. Any way you could get to see a Physical Therapist about this? In my experience a good PT can give you targeted exercises and/or stretches that help a lot.

Hope you master those stairs. Climbing stairs is good exercise, if you can do it. Had a neighbor lady who lived to 98, and her place was up a flight of stairs. She could have afforded a ground level place but preferred the stairs for exercise. I suspect it kept her going a few years longer...

So far I've only heard of getting a PT is when you've had an injury or after certain surgeries.
Unless you can pay it yourself.

Been eating at 5 pm every day.
I'm still pretty bloated like I was at the early time of my diary.
But part of that is trying to eat 1200 calories at 1 time.
It's the minimum amount I've ever read people should have.
I'm not closely counting calories as it makes me feel controlled somehow. But I know most days it's under that.
The eating only at 5 is beginning to improve my bs numbers.
Most of the things I read are hogwash anyway. So if I don't get the minimum 1200 in so what. Why do I have to. Why just because someone says to do I have to be feeling so so stuffed.
Plus the weights not dropping off too much that I need to add more.
