Bigger, Stronger, Faster

False dichotomy. :) Which is to say, irrational.

If your intent is to level the playing field, the closest thing would be to simply remove all of the restrictions that are not direct corollaries of the rules of the game. He who has the best combination of gear, training and knowledge is the victor. Just like everything else in life. Why should sport be held up to some nonsensical double standard?
The Olympics are supposed to be above sport and athletics, it's about the ideal of man achieving great things through hard work and nothing else.

Example- Iraq just got banned from entering a team because their Olympic panel was picked by the government, Olympic rules state that the governing body of each member country's team has to be free from politic influence.

This ruling only effects the Olympics because the ideal of Olympic competition is of purity. Some people will always find a way of cheating the system but why should that ideal be dropped because of the actions of a few cheats?

And he's wrong about that, too. It's only in modern times that other systems break down, and that's due primarily to the moral decay arising from 'The Death of God', as Nietzsche would call it.

Haha, God :yelrotflmao:
His name has been attributed to more death and suffering than all the evil dictators that have ever lived

EDIT: please let me clarify my statement as I don't want to start a religious arguement here. I'm not saying that 'God' would have wanted the death and torture of non christians across the world; just that those people who have ruled with a bible in there hand tend to have a spear in the other

Ohhh, okay. I thought you were saying something else. In that case, we are in complete agreement on this matter. :)

With the proviso that they put more effort into it, and be more strict. I liked seeing that one chick get banned for life after she was caught the second time. But really, I think it ought to have been the first. Once a cheater, always a cheater?

Yeah, but that's not the God we speak of in philosophy. I'm referring to the infinite substance God of Spinoza that is necessary to the very conception of an objective morality, without which there is only moral relativism (which we must abhor if we are to claim to be anything other than the basest of animals).

Religion, on the other hand, while serving a purpose, is a flawed system designed for and to take advantage of the ignorant masses, not unlike democracy. ;)

You don't see a contradiction in these statements?

There is no contradiction - medical use e.g stunted growth is not the same as kids who want them to get big. I should have rephrased that for the "wanna be big club". Typhon asked "Why are they prescribed very frequently for people with muscular development problems then?"

This is not the same as a 16 y/o who goes to the Doc and says hey Doc, I wanna be as big as Arnie and the Doc says okay kid here's Stanazonol.

So what you're saying is it's okay to steal if your family is hungry, but not because you like shiny things?

Doh, but you said that no medical authority said that steroids are ok when used under the guidance of a physician. But as I pointed out they are used very frequently, I know people who are on them for medical reasons and have suffered no ill effects, therefore it's fairly obvious that under supervision Steriods can be used safely with medical observation

You are doing it wrong. The key to good rhetoric is excessive use of analogy and/or allegory. And lots of metaphors. Also, use over-complex and preferably archaic diction.
