lol..yeah that was insane. Some car guys (enthusiast) from other sites went in there and joined their site because of that, lol. The "model" myspace girl Ellie seemed to take it in stride? I was one of the first to read the thread (lurker there, lol) and had a laugh for a bit but then it became an overkill---just one poster trying to outdo each other for laughs, it became degrading after a bit. Nevertheless it got attention. That section in that forum are purely for lulz.

I was one of the first to read the thread (lurker there, lol) and had a laugh for a bit but then it became an overkill---just one poster trying to outdo each other for laughs, it became degrading after a bit. Nevertheless it got attention. That section in that forum are purely for lulz.
I hope the girl, "model", had her face photo-shopped and this whole thing is a joke probably. I think when most of us posted (myself) that she is ugly, I mean her physical appearance; particularily the face. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; what some consider ugly, other thinks is beautiful. Hey, the truth hurts sometimes....
As for the Florida kid, it's a tragic story and my heart goes out the the family. They are probably overwhelm with grief, disbelief, and regrets. The media and internet should leave them alone and let them mourn in peace. There were lots of people who also tried to get the kid to stop as well, lets not just focus on the negative side. I think there is a statistic that in 2007, 1:1000 person commits suicide. The only true victim of sucide is the people left behind to clean up. For those that egged that poor kid on, they will have a scare to that will last a lifetime to maul it over. It's a selfish act but it's not too uncommon. Suicides occur more often than homocide.
To me, that model just needs different make-up or a become a Cub's fan and wear a paper bag over her head.

oh Trust Me, it is not a joke--she really has a slew of pics in her myspace profile w/ the same facial expression she wears each time she's cheesin for the camera. She's for real and she did pose for her buddy's integra for fun. It's just she put her profile on public and some teen got a hold of it (pics) and posted it in the MISC posing as his gf. He knew what kind of reaction he would generate from the regulars there.
I think she's put her myspace profile on private now since then. Paper bag? Lulz...
Yeah well I'm with Chillen on this one. The internet isn't policeable, which makes it what it is, interesting, but at the same time all sort of incredible abuse can take place. Look up 'porshe girl' if you need an example of online bullying gone terribly wrong.
I think in the case of Ellie (that's the name of the integra picture girl), it's very easy to make fun of her because her attitude is rather arrogant - people just love bringing down others on the net, especially vain ones. And yes, some of the messages in the thread are actually amusing.
BUT - this sort of thing may have its place somewhere but IMHO not on these boards - as Chillen pointed out it seems very odd that on one hand we'd be 'picking on the ugly' on one thread and 'encouraging beginners' in the other.
I like these boards because they are friendly and mature, if I wanted juvenile humor I'd go on b3ta. There's a place for everything.
